SoundPEATS PearClip Pro Earbuds Review

keep an ear on your audio and surroundings

SoundPEATS might not yet be a household name for you, but this company has been at the forefront of wireless audio technology for years, delivering exceptional devices that combine quality and affordability for those who prefer alternatives to mainstream brands. The latest game-changer in their lineup is the SoundPEATS PearClip Pro wireless earbuds, setting a new standard in sound performance.

Design

You’ll immediately notice that these earbuds have a unique design. These “open-ear” buds look like a small silicon horseshoe that fits onto the outer portion of the earlobe. This clip allows for the earbuds to sit comfortably in your ear, but not block the entire canal.

The design may look a little funky, but you have Bluetooth 5.4 and 12mm stereo drivers behind the scene. The material mix of flexible steel wiring covered in a soft silicone covering makes these comfortable to wear as well. The bud has two pear-shaped ends, housing the speaker on one side and the charging contacts on the other.

Sound and Daily Use

This lends to a hybrid of passive noise cancellation and transparency to the outside world. I expected the overall audio experience to be lesser on something that doesn’t even have the traditional silicone cups of a traditional earbud. I couldn’t have been more surprised.

Whether listening to music or podcasts, the balance of the SoundPEATS PearClip Pro is solid. Bass has a better punch than you’d think, and vocals still chime through with ease. It’s a nice balance of audio that works even with the open design.

The PearClip Pro buds do block out some noise while sitting in your ears, but you’ll notice more environmental feedback than other options. I personally find this works in several settings. The SoundPEATS have become my go-to earbuds for both cubicle work and walking my dog. Having the extra “ear” to the people around me or traffic has been a welcome aspect of the clip design.

Battery Life

SoundPEATS rates the PearClip Pro at six hours per use, and I’ve found this to be accurate. I can use through intermittent listening while working an eight-hour shift without charging. The included case serves as the charger and will replenish the PearClip Pros three times for a total of 24 hours away from the wall outlet.

The case is powered by USB-C, but doesn’t include wireless charging. Fast charging is here, thankfully allow for two hours of playback in around ten minutes of power. I’d love to see wireless charging on these, but at the $60 price tag, it’s an acceptable omission.

Final Thoughts

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the SoundPEATS PearClip Pro earbuds. This open-ear style of earpiece is relatively new, but I really enjoyed these. The earbuds are comfortable, allow me to hear outside interactions, and yet still offer a good listening experience. Oh, and did we mention they won’t break the bank? At just $60, the SoundPEATS PearClip Pros are a steal, with our links below.
