Review: OtterBox Defender Case

in Accessory Reviews, Reviews

The OtterBox Defender case is definitley OtterBox’s premiere case for protection.  See my full review after the break. This case made up of three pieces, a 2-piece snap on hard case followed by a silicone cover. This case has both the screen and camera covered by a thin sheet of plastic as well as silicon “doors” for the ports on the device. This case cost $50 from OtterBox’s website an unfortunately only comes in black (Droid Incredible). Also included with the case is a belt holster which can hold the phone in just about any way.

Pros

  • Great Protection
  • Soft Feel
  • (Surprisingly) Light
  • Solid Build Quality

Cons

  • Price
  • Silicon Flaps (refer to video for an example)
  • Bulk
  • Lack of Color Choices

This case is great for protection, but that’s really it. This case is not going make your phone look stylish and I don’t believe OtterBox was trying to reach that market. If you are a construction worker or just a klutz when it comes to your phone, this case will work great for you. Although, if you are just a casual person you might feel like you did not get your money’s worth on this case. Overall, this case is great if you need protection and don’t mind adding some serious bulk to your phone. If you are still curious about the size of this case, please check out the video review where I demonstrate the pros and cons.
