Xiaomi unveils Redmi 13 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE chipset

Last month, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 13 4G smartphone with MediaTek Helio G91 chipset, and now today, the brand announced the 5G version of the Redmi 13 with Qualcomm’s new budget-range processor under the hood. Xiaomi’s new budget-conscious smartphone comes with a decent set of features. Let’s take a look at the detailed specs, pricing, and availability of the Redmi 13 5G Smartphone. 

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE (Accelerated Engine) paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is further expandable up to 1TB via MicroSD card. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. Xiaomi promised two major Android updates (up to Android 16) and four years of security patches for the Redmi 13 5G variant. 

Redmi 13 5G features a dual rear camera setup: a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 primary sensor coupled with a 2MP macro lens and dynamic ring flash. On the front, it has a 13MP punch-hole selfie shooter for capturing beautiful selfies and video chats. 

You get a stunning 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate, 550 nits of peak brightness, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and wet touch support on top. Xiaomi offers IP53 water and dust resistance for the Redmi 13, protecting it from water splashes and dust. 

The device houses a massive 5,030mAh battery with 33W fast charging support which can swiftly fill the battery up to 50% in around 30 minutes. The rest of the highlights of the Redmi 13 include IR Blaster, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB C Port, and a crystal glass back.

The Redmi 13 5G starts at INR 13,999 (~$170) for the base 6GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/128GB model costs INR 15,499 ($185). It comes in three beautiful color options – Hawaiian Blue, Black Diamond, and Orchid Pink. Open sales will begin on July 12 via Xiaomi India’s official website and other authorized retailers.
