Xiaomi Expands Tablet Lineup with REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series and Compact Xiaomi Pad Mini

Xiaomi has rolled out two new Android tablets aimed at different audiences: the feature-packed REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series and the highly portable Xiaomi Pad Mini. Both devices lean heavily on display quality, battery life, and smart connectivity, but they approach the tablet experience from opposite ends of the size spectrum.

REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series: Built for Big-Screen Entertainment

The REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series is designed for users who want a tablet that doubles as a home theater, gaming hub, and productivity tool. Headlining the series is a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with Dolby Vision support, adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, and triple TĂśV Rheinland certifications for reduced eye strain. This makes it equally suitable for streaming marathons and long reading or sketching sessions.

For those who need an even sharper visual experience, the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Matte Glass Version features an AG nano-texture screen that reduces glare by up to 97%, making it ideal for outdoor use or for reading under bright lights.

Audio performance matches the visual punch, thanks to a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. A manual 300% volume boost ensures clarity in noisy environments, whether you’re on a video call or watching a movie.

Under the hood, the tablet runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, paired with a 12,000mAh battery, one of Xiaomi’s largest for a tablet. Fast 33W charging restores power quickly, and reverse wired charging (27W) lets the tablet act as a backup battery for other devices.

Integration with Xiaomi HyperOS enhances multitasking by enabling features such as shared clipboard, call sync, and home screen mirroring from a connected phone. There’s even cross-device camera support for flexible video calls. Rounding out the package is support for up to 2TB of expandable storage and built-in Google Gemini tools for AI-powered assistance.

Accessories include the REDMI Smart Pen with 4096 pressure levels and ultra-low latency, a full-sized keyboard for PC-like typing, and a protective cover with a built-in stand and pen holder.

Xiaomi Pad Mini: Power in a Compact Frame

While the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series takes the “bigger is better” approach, the Xiaomi Pad Mini focuses on portability without compromising on performance. The company’s first flagship mini tablet features an 8.8-inch 3K display with Dolby Vision, up to 165Hz refresh rate, and TÜV Rheinland certifications for comfortable long-term use. At just 132mm wide with a micro-arc middle frame, the tablet is optimized for single-handed operation.

Inside, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, a flagship chip built on a 3nm process. A 7,500mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge keeps it running through long days, and reverse charging support makes it useful for topping up smaller devices. Uniquely, it includes dual Type-C ports, one on the long side for data transfer (USB 3.2 Gen 1) and one on the short side for convenience.

On the AI front, the Xiaomi Pad Mini integrates HyperAI features such as AI Writing, AI Interpreter, and AI Art tools, along with Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. This positions the tablet as a compact productivity device for students, creatives, and professionals.

Accessories include the Xiaomi Focus Pen with high sensitivity and millisecond-level latency for drawing and note-taking, plus a Pad Mini Cover with a leather-like finish and wristband for easy carrying.
