Wyze Launches Palm Lock, Offering Advanced, Personalized Smart Home Protection

Wyze, a company recognized for its contributions to smart home technology and security, has announced the release of the Wyze Palm Lock. The new smart lock integrates advanced biometric technology to verify users by scanning the distinct pattern of veins beneath the surface of the palm. The device allows users to unlock their door quickly and reliably than other fingerprint-based systems by simply hovering their hand near the integrated reader.

According to Wyze Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer Dave Crosby, the palm ID recognition gives users a sense of having a “secret handshake” with their front door. He added that the feature works flawlessly with Wyze’s video doorbells, making securing and managing the front door easier than ever.

The Wyze Palm Lock encrypts and stores all biometric data locally, rather than in the app or cloud, for
added security.

The device also features an illuminated, numbered keypad where users can set and store up to 50 unique access codes. Friends and family can gain access with one-time guest passcodes that
expire on a schedule, or homeowners can control the locks directly from the live view of a Wyze video doorbell.

Wyze Palm Lock Top Features

Top features of Wyze Palm Lock include ease of set-up, weather resistant and anti-peep technology, long battery life, and long-distance control. See details below.

Auto Locking Peace of Mind: A built-in gyroscope detects the angle and movement of the door in real time and automatically locks once it senses the door has closed, preventing false or jammed locks.
Anti-Peep Technology: Users can add extra digits before or after the code, and Wyze Palm Lock
will still unlock, maintaining privacy from bystanders who may try to remember the code.
Tamper and Ajar Alarms: Wyze Palm Lock speaks up and sounds an alarm if it detects
tampering from excessive incorrect unlock attempts. It will also chirp if the door is accidentally
left open (customizable in the Wyze app).
IP53 Weather-Resistant and BHMA3-Certified: It meets the Builders Hardware Manufacturers
Association’s rigorous standards for security, durability, and performance.
Smart Battery Saver: Wyze Palm Lock is equipped with a millimeter wave radar, the same type
used in self-driving cars. It scans for the presence of a person or movement, and only
“wakes up” the lock when a person is detected.
Dual Battery System: The removable lithium-ion battery provides up to six months of battery life,
while a secondary backup battery keeps things running for up to two weeks if needed.
Emergency Power Port: If the batteries die, the USB-C port allows for a charge from a power
bank. Enter the access code for entry.
Control from Anywhere with Wi-Fi: You’re able to control and monitor the lock status from
anywhere, anytime. Customize lock notifications in the Wyze app.
Voice Control: This feature works with smart assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can
customize even more automation with Wyze Rules.
Mechanical Lock and Key Option: Simply slide down the damping cover and manually unlock the old-fashioned way (keys
included).

The Wyze Palm Lock is available for $129.98
