CHERRY XTRFY MX 10.1 Wireless: The Low-Profile Keyboard That Works as Hard as it Plays

The CHERRY XTRFY MX 10.1 Wireless positions itself as a significant evolution in low-profile mechanical gaming keyboards. Built around CHERRY’s refined MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches and housed in a sleek aluminum frame, this keyboard delivers professional-grade performance with the flexibility modern gamers demand.

Ultra-Fast Connectivity Options

The MX 10.1 Wireless excels with its triple connection system. The 2.4 GHz wireless mode operates at an impressive 4000Hz polling rate, while the wired connection pushes performance to 8000Hz. For everyday productivity, Bluetooth connectivity supports pairing with up to three devices, allowing seamless switching between your gaming PC, laptop, and tablet through the integrated rotary knob.

The CHERRY XTRFY MX 10.1 Wireless blends ultra-fast wireless performance, premium low-profile switches, and intuitive controls in a sleek, full-size design, making it perfect for gamers and professionals who demand both speed and versatility.

This polling rate performance means the keyboard reports input up to eight times per millisecond in wired mode, providing the responsiveness competitive gamers require while maintaining the convenience of wireless operation for general use.

Refined Switch Technology

The CHERRY XTRFY MX 10.1 Wireless features CHERRY’s enhanced MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches, available in Red and Ivory variants. These switches incorporate premium-grade lubricant applied during manufacturing, resulting in smoother keystrokes and improved acoustic properties compared to the previous generation.

With a 42cN actuation force and a lifespan exceeding 100 million keystrokes, these switches maintain consistent performance throughout their operational life. The low-profile design reduces key travel while preserving the tactile feedback mechanical keyboard enthusiasts expect.

Premium Build Quality

The aluminum construction provides both durability and a premium feel while keeping the overall profile remarkably slim at just 27mm thick. Despite the reduced height, the keyboard maintains full-size functionality with a complete 104-key layout, integrated metal plate, and full N-key rollover capability.

The durable PBT keycaps resist wear and shine, maintaining their texture and legends through extended use. The dye-sublimation printing process ensures key labels remain crisp and readable over time.

It feels considerably heavier in hand, sitting firmly in place. It’s not slipping one bit for casual work needs and I cannot imagine it budging when pulling after-hours duty for gaming needs.

Intelligent Control Features

The integrated LCD display and rotary knob system sets the MX 10.1 apart from conventional gaming keyboards. The display shows real-time information including battery status, connection mode, and current settings. The knob provides intuitive control over RGB lighting, media functions, and device switching without requiring software interaction.

Three customizable profiles allow users to store different configurations for various applications or games, accessible directly through the hardware controls.

Extended Battery Performance

The substantial battery (4000mAh) delivers up to 900 hours of operation in Bluetooth mode or approximately 50 hours when using the high-performance 2.4 GHz wireless connection at 4000 Hz polling rate. Battery life varies based on RGB lighting intensity and display usage, but the capacity ensures multiple days of intensive gaming sessions between charges.

We’ve used this for primarily home office needs around here for the past few weeks and we’ve only had to charge it one time. We appreciate being able to see the percentage in the right corner with the knob.

Software Integration

CHERRY’s Utility software provides comprehensive customization options for RGB lighting patterns, macro programming, and profile management. The keyboard’s 256 kBit internal memory stores settings directly on the device, ensuring your configurations remain active across different systems.

The MX 10.1 Wireless combines the precision and durability CHERRY is known for with modern wireless technology and thoughtful design elements. For gamers seeking a low-profile mechanical keyboard that doesn’t compromise on performance, the CHERRY XTRFY MX 10.1 Wireless ($250) delivers the speed, versatility, and build quality needed for both competitive gaming and professional productivity.
