Verizon confirmed the Droid 4 for February 10th at $199.99 with a two-year agreement. The thinnest and most powerful 4G LTE QWERTY smartphone on the market at the time, it featured a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4-inch qHD display, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video, a front-facing camera, a five-row backlit QWERTY keyboard, 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot for up to eight devices, 16GB onboard storage expandable to 32GB via microSD, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread with an Ice Cream Sandwich update planned, and FIPS 140-2 government-grade encryption. Business accessories including the Lapdock 500 ($299.97) were available at launch.
A double data promotion was available for customers purchasing on February 10th alongside the Droid RAZR BOGO deals running that same weekend.
