TRIBIT has officially launched the StormBox Max, a portable Bluetooth speaker built around a 60W audio system and designed for listeners who want serious sound without being tethered to a wall socket.
Big Power in a Portable Package
The StormBox Max combines a 30W woofer with four 7.5W silk dome tweeters to produce a wide, detailed soundstage with a frequency response of 53Hz to 20kHz. That range covers deep bass through clear highs, making it a capable companion across a broad range of music genres. At 1,184g and measuring 203 x 109 x 109mm, it’s compact enough to carry to a beach or campsite, aided by a built-in silicone handle.
IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection means the speaker can handle the elements without complaint, whether that’s a poolside splash or a dusty festival field.
XBass 2.0 and Sound Customization
One of the StormBox Max’s more distinctive features is TRIBIT’s XBass 2.0, which gives users a dedicated physical knob for adjusting bass in ±5 steps. Rather than a simple on/off bass boost, this allows for more nuanced tuning to suit the track, the environment, or personal preference. An EQ button toggles between TRIBIT Signature and Outdoor modes, and further customization is available through the TRIBIT app.
Battery Life and Charging
The StormBox Max is equipped with dual 5000mAh batteries, delivering up to 20 hours of playtime at 50% volume with the default EQ setting. Recharging via USB-C takes approximately four hours with 5V/3A input. The USB-C port also supports 5V/1A charge-out, so the speaker can top up another compatible device in a pinch. An auto power-off function kicks in after 15 minutes of inactivity to help preserve battery life.
Connectivity: From One to 100+
Bluetooth 6.0 provides a wireless range of up to 45 metres. Two StormBox Max units can be paired via TWS for separated left and right stereo channels, while Auracast support takes things considerably further, allowing 100 or more compatible speakers to sync up for large-scale audio setups. The speaker supports AAC and SBC codecs alongside A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP protocols, and includes hands-free calling functionality.
Pricing and Availability
The TRIBIT StormBox Max is available now priced at $129.99 in the US, €119.99 in Europe, and £99.99 in the UK. It can be purchased directly from TRIBIT and via Amazon.
