Synology Debuts BeeStation Plus: High-Speed Storage Solution and Plex Media Server

Synology has taken the stage at COMPUTEX 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan, to introduce its latest innovation: BeeStation Plus. This new model expands the popular BeeStation series, promising a high-speed, cloud-like experience tailored for homes and small teams. With an impressive 8 TB of storage and a performance boost of up to 4.8 times compared to previous models, BeeStation Plus aims to cater to families, creative teams, and professionals seeking a seamless way to access and organize their digital assets.

Mayi, product manager at Synology, highlighted the motivation behind the new release: “The BeeStation lineup was designed to let everyday users benefit from a cloud-like environment without needing advanced storage or networking knowledge. Since launching the first BeeStation, we’ve seen strong interest from users looking for larger storage capacity and more robust capabilities. BeeStation Plus is our answer to those needs.”

Effortless File Management and Backup

One of the standout features of BeeStation Plus is its comprehensive approach to file management and backup. The device automatically consolidates memories and important files from various sources, including phones, computers, cloud photo libraries, and external storage devices. Users can leverage built-in local AI to locate photos based on people or subjects without compromising privacy by sending data to the cloud.

In addition to photos, BeeStation Plus offers streamlined organization for personal files, school projects, and work documents. By integrating data from cloud drives, external drives, and computers, users can enjoy simplified browsing, intelligent search capabilities, and rapid sharing options.

Enhancing Home Entertainment

BeeStation Plus also promises to elevate home entertainment with its built-in Plex Media Server support. Users can transform their media collections into a personal streaming library, storing movies, TV shows, and home videos in one centralized location. This feature ensures seamless streaming across various devices, including TVs, phones, and tablets, whether at home or on the move.

Robust Data Protection

Ensuring data safety is a priority for Synology with the BeeStation Plus. The device incorporates snapshot-based restore points coupled with a complimentary three-month BeeProtect cloud backup subscription. This combination facilitates a quick setup of the 3-2-1 backup strategy, making offsite backup both affordable and practical. BeeProtect offers peace of mind by safeguarding data against theft or disaster, with end-to-end encryption ensuring that only the owner can access their files.

BeeStation Plus stands as a practical solution for individuals and teams desiring a comprehensive, cloud-like experience without the challenges of traditional storage systems. With a variety of features aimed at simplifying file management, boosting entertainment options, and providing data security, Synology’s latest offering is set to address the changing needs of modern users.
