SipaBoards has announced the SipaSeat, a lightweight, pressurized outdoor lounge chair designed to provide comfortable back support without the metal poles, hinges, or rigid frames found in conventional camping chairs.
Weighing approximately 2.2 pounds, the SipaSeat rolls into a compact tube for transport and takes around 30 to 45 seconds to set up using an included manual pump. It’s designed for everything from sandy beaches and rocky campsites to docks, paddleboards, and small boats.
The new chair launched on Kickstarter on October 6, 2026, marking the Slovenia-based company’s expansion beyond its established paddleboard business.
AirFrame Technology Replaces the Traditional Chair Frame

The SipaSeat’s defining feature is its patent-pending AirFrame technology, which uses pressurized air and reinforced technical textiles to create a self-supporting structure.
Rather than transferring weight through four individual legs, the chair distributes pressure across a broader footprint. SipaBoards says this allows it to accommodate surfaces where conventional chairs might sink, wobble, or struggle to maintain stable contact.
Users can adjust the internal pressure between 0.4 and 0.7 bar to change the seating experience. Lower pressure creates a softer, more reclined position, while higher pressure provides a firmer backrest and more upright posture.
The backrest incorporates a self-righting effect that progressively increases resistance as someone leans backward, helping guide them toward an upright position.
It’s a different approach to portable seating, particularly for people who prefer having actual back support rather than sitting directly on the ground.
Built for Beaches, Boats, and Beyond

SipaBoards developed the SipaSeat using more than a decade of experience with pressurized paddleboards and technical textiles.
The chair features a multilayer laminated shell with high-tenacity polyester reinforcement and heat-welded construction. Its seating area uses reinforced PE/PVC-coated mesh that allows air and water to pass through, helping prevent water from collecting after swimming or paddling.
For added flexibility, the package includes a ground anchor stake and universal attachment strap. The former helps secure the chair on soft or sloped terrain, while the latter allows it to attach to compatible paddleboards, kayaks, and smaller boats.
SipaBoards says the construction has survived demanding durability demonstrations, including being driven over by a 2.4-tonne Volkswagen Amarok and tested beneath a 20-tonne excavator.
Those demonstrations are manufacturer-reported rather than independent durability certifications, and the company doesn’t position the chair as puncture-proof.
The SipaSeat comes with a lifetime warranty, though the specific coverage terms weren’t detailed in the announcement.
Lightweight Design With Practical Accessories

At approximately 2.2 pounds, the SipaSeat could appeal to campers, beachgoers, paddlers, and anyone looking to pack a proper seat without carrying a traditional folding chair.
The included accessories cover most of the basics:
- Manual pump and carry bag
- Ground anchor stake
- Universal board and boat attachment strap
- Field-repair patch kit
A standard H3 high-pressure valve supports the supplied pump, compatible paddleboard pumps, and compressors.
For cleanup, SipaBoards says the chair can be wiped down or rinsed with high-pressure water to remove sand, salt, and mud.
Kickstarter Availability and Colors
The SipaSeat launched on Kickstarter on October 6, 2026, with six planned colors: Blue Shadow, Original Grey, Pistachio, Quiet Violet, Rose, and Warm Sand.
SipaBoards estimates deliveries between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027, with worldwide shipping planned. Pricing wasn’t disclosed in the press release.
The company says SipaSeat certification is expected during production, following the Kickstarter campaign. The product has not yet received its own CE or FCC certification.
For outdoor enthusiasts tired of carrying bulky chairs or settling for a towel on the ground, the SipaSeat presents an interesting alternative. Its adjustable back support and ability to work across different surfaces are promising, though real-world comfort and long-term durability still need independent testing.
More information about SipaSeat and the company’s outdoor equipment is available through the official SipaBoards website.
