Sprint officially confirmed the Motorola Photon 4G would launch July 31st at $199.99 with a two-year contract. Sprint Premier customers could purchase it online three days early on July 28th. The Photon 4G was Sprint’s first international 4G smartphone and its second 4G dual-core device, featuring a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, a 4.3-inch qHD display, dual cameras (8MP rear with dual-LED flash, VGA front-facing), 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage expandable to 48GB with microSD, worldwide GSM roaming, 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot for up to eight devices, Motorola webtop application support, and enterprise security features. It ran Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
