ORICO is expanding beyond its familiar storage and connectivity accessories with the Obook 15 AI Laptop, its first full-fledged Windows PC. Starting at $689.99, the 15.6-inch notebook combines an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, expandable storage, and a built-in AI assistant designed to help users manage everyday tasks.
The Obook 15 targets students, professionals, and content creators who need a capable laptop for productivity, multitasking, and general computing. It also marks a new direction for ORICO, a company with more than 17 years of experience developing data storage and connectivity products.
Ryzen 7 Performance and Expandable Storage
At the center of the Obook 15 is an AMD Ryzen 7 H-series processor featuring eight cores, 16 threads, and boost speeds reaching 4.7GHz. The chip is paired with Radeon 680M integrated graphics, which ORICO describes as offering discrete-class performance.
Memory configurations include 12GB and 24GB of 6400MT/s RAM, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB using NVMe SSDs. An additional M.2 slot supports storage expansion up to 4TB, giving buyers room to accommodate larger files, creative projects, and growing software libraries.

The laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with an anti-glare finish, 170-degree viewing angles, and support for 16.2 million colors. Wide-frequency dimming is included to help manage screen brightness.
A 180-degree hinge lets the display fold flat, which could prove useful when sharing presentations or working with others around a table.
A Built-In AI Assistant for Everyday Work
One of the Obook 15’s defining features is XiaoAo AI Super Agent, ORICO’s integrated AI assistant.
Rather than focusing exclusively on conversational AI, XiaoAo includes 11 specialized AI experts intended to assist with different productivity tasks. According to ORICO, the system supports remote device control, workflow automation, and intelligent knowledge base management.
The company positions XiaoAo as an always-available assistant capable of reducing repetitive work and helping users organize information.
For students managing research materials or professionals juggling documents and routine tasks, those capabilities could be useful. The practical value will depend on how well the software works with existing applications and workflows.
ORICO has not detailed the AI assistant’s supported languages, subscription requirements, or whether its processing occurs locally or through cloud services.
Cooling, Connectivity, and Everyday Convenience
The Obook 15 includes ORICO’s Hurricane Cooling System, designed to manage temperatures during demanding workloads. Users can switch between performance modes using the FN+Q keyboard shortcut, providing a way to adjust the system’s operating behavior.

A 54.29Wh battery supplies portable power, and the laptop ships with a 100W charger. ORICO has not provided estimated battery runtime or charging speeds.
Other hardware features include Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, a physical camera privacy shutter, a numeric keypad, and a selection of ports. Windows 11 Home comes preinstalled.
The camera shutter is a welcome addition for anyone regularly attending video meetings, and the numeric keypad should appeal to users who spend plenty of time working with spreadsheets.
Pricing and Availability
The ORICO Obook 15 AI Laptop is launching in the United States and the Philippines, with availability rolling out through major sales channels. Three configurations are planned:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB SSD: $689.99
- 12GB RAM + 512GB SSD: $749.99
- 24GB RAM + 1TB SSD: $899.99
Three color options are listed: Silver, Pink, and Blue.
At $689.99, the Obook 15 enters the mainstream laptop category with a capable processor, expandable storage, and an AI assistant that ORICO hopes will give it a distinct identity.
The more interesting question is how effectively XiaoAo integrates into everyday computing. AI features are increasingly common on Windows laptops, and useful automation may matter more to buyers than another chatbot waiting for a prompt.
