Nest Learning Thermostat Gets a Fresh Look with New Farsight Faces

Nest Learning Thermostat Gets a Fresh Look with New Farsight Faces

Google is giving its smart thermostat a stylish upgrade. The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) is rolling out four new Farsight faces that add more personality and artistry to its sleek, borderless display.

Art Meets Automation

The centerpiece of this update is a collaboration with French artist Mathilde Loubes, whose animated films have gained attention for their delicate, nature-inspired visuals. Her new Farsight face transforms the thermostat into a dynamic piece of digital art, featuring 12 animated illustrations of flowers and fruits that change with the months. Each design brings a touch of seasonality. Think of it as a rotating gallery for your living room wall, except it also controls the heat.

This partnership continues Google’s broader effort to blend function and aesthetics, turning smart home devices into thoughtful design elements rather than just tech fixtures.

A Nod to the Classics and a Touch of Simplicity

Beyond the Loubes collaboration, three new face options join the lineup:

  • Classic Nest Face – a modern throwback that channels the look of the original Nest thermostat interface.
  • Minimalist Face – a clean, pared-down option that quietly integrates into any decor.
  • Temperature Controller Face – a functional, glance-friendly display designed for quick adjustments without diving into menus.

These additions complement the existing Farsight options, which already include digital and analog clocks and live weather displays, giving users more flexibility to match their thermostat to the room’s style, or their mood.

Customization, One Tap Away

Nine smart thermostat display options showing different temperatures and weather conditions on a sleek, round interface.

Users can access the new faces directly from the thermostat settings menu, making it easy to switch between looks whenever inspiration strikes. The update rolls out automatically to Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) devices, offering instant access to the new visual options.

For many homeowners, smart devices are as much about visual harmony as they are about automation. With this latest update, the Nest Learning Thermostat continues to prove it can do both, keeping homes comfortable while adding a little artistic flair to the wall.
