Huawei has introduced a new camera-centric Huawei Pura 70 series in its home country. Huawei’s Pura 70 series comprises the base Pura 70, the Pura 70 Pro, the Pura 70 Pro+, and the Pura 70 Ultra.

Huawei’s smartphones are known for their striking designs, exceptional cameras, top-notch hardware, and extremely unique features, and the latest Pura 70 series smartphones are no exception.

Successor to the Huawei P60 smartphones comes with notable improvements in every area from the design, display, camera, hardware, and battery life. Let’s delve into the details.

Let’s start with the camera first, the Huawei Pura 70 series smartphones feature a distinct triangular camera setup at the back, while the top-of-the-line Ultra variant comes with a 50MP 1-inch retractable lens that has been tested for 300,000 retractions. Huawei claims the main unit can efficiently capture super crisp shots moving at up to 300 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, the other three phones – the Pura 70 Pro+, the Pura 70 Pro, and the Pura 70 boast the same resolution primary camera, but in a smaller 1/1.3-inch format.

Huawei also incorporated a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS support and a 40MP ultrawide shooter in the Pura 70 Ultra smartphone. All the phones come with the same 13MP front snapper.

The Pura 70 Ultra and the other two (Pro+ and Pro) models feature a 6.8-inch 2844 x 1260 LTOP OLED Panel with 1Hz to 120Hz dynamic refresh rate support, ensuring a buttery smooth scrolling experience. As for the processor, Huawei hasn’t cleared the processor name, reports suggest that the Ultra-variant is powered by the latest Kirin 9010 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM. Huawei offers up to 1TB of storage options in all four Pura 70 models, while the top two – the Ultra and Pro+ variants come with 16GB of RAM and the Pro and base have a 12GB RAM option.

Huawei Pura 70 series runs on Huawei’s custom HarmonyOS 4.2 out of the box. The Ultra boasts a massive 5,200mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W fast wireless charging support. The other models have a 5,050mAh battery under the hood. The Pro+ and Pro models have the same fast charging capabilities as the Ultra model.

The only Pura 70 Ultra comes with a premium leather finish, offering a delicate and skin-friendly texture. Meanwhile, the other models offer a glass back with different color options.

The base Pura 70 variant has very similar specs but with slightly smaller displays and batteries. It has a 6.6-inch 2760 x 1256 LTPO OLED display with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate support and a 4,900mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Huawei also omits the retractable main camera from the Pura 70 smartphone.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra starts at CNY 9,999 (~$1,400) and the vanilla Pura 70 retails at CNY 5,499 (~$760). All four smartphones are now available via Huawei’s online store and other retailers. There is no word from Huawei on the international availability.
