MediaTek has expanded its Dimensity lineup with three new mobile chipsets: the Dimensity 7400, Dimensity 7400X, and Dimensity 6400. These processors bring improved efficiency, AI-driven performance, and better gaming experiences to a range of smartphones. Positioned below the flagship Dimensity 9400 and 8400, these new models provide manufacturers with more options for balancing performance and affordability.
More Power, Less Battery Drain
The Dimensity 7400 and 7400X are built on TSMC’s 4nm process, combining four Cortex-A78 cores (2.6GHz), four Cortex-A55 cores (2.0GHz), and an Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. This setup delivers strong performance for demanding applications while consuming 14% to 36% less power in gaming compared to similar chipsets.
For mobile gamers, MediaTek Advanced Gaming Technology (MAGT) 3.0 brings AI-driven graphics optimizations, lower input lag, and smarter power management—helping players squeeze more gameplay out of every charge.

Smarter Cameras and AI Enhancements
The Dimensity 7400 and 7400X step up their AI game with MediaTek’s NPU 6.0, delivering a 15% performance boost over the previous generation. The Imagiq 950 ISP brings advanced image processing, supporting Google Ultra HDR for richer contrast and color accuracy in photos and videos.
The Dimensity 7400X introduces support for dual-display flip phones, giving manufacturers more flexibility for foldable designs. A 5G Release 16 modem with 3CC carrier aggregation improves network efficiency, using 20% less power than competing solutions. Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E support ensures strong wireless connectivity for streaming, gaming, and downloads.
Dimensity 6400: Big Features, Smaller Price Tag
The Dimensity 6400 is built on TSMC’s 6nm process and features two Cortex-A76 cores (2.5GHz), six Cortex-A55 cores (2.0GHz), and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This processor is designed to bring AI-driven 5G performance to more affordable devices.
Compared to other budget-friendly chipsets, the Dimensity 6400 offers:
- 19% lower power consumption during gaming
- 90% reduced gaming latency with Bluetooth Wi-Fi HyperCoex Technology
- 33% faster downlink and 18% faster uplink speeds
- Support for 108MP cameras with multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR) and low pass noise reduction (LPNR) for sharper selfies and portraits
Availability
