Insta360 has introduced the Mic Pro, a new wireless microphone system aimed at creators, filmmakers, podcasters, livestreamers, and production teams looking for pro-level audio tools without turning every recording session into a cable management exercise.
The headline features are hard to miss. Insta360 says the Mic Pro is the first wireless microphone system to include customizable E-Ink displays on each transmitter, paired with a built-in three-microphone array capable of switching between different pickup patterns. In a category where most wireless mics tend to resemble tiny black rectangles with identical personalities, the Mic Pro is trying to bring a little individuality to the gear bag.
A Wireless Mic That Lets Creators Label Their Gear

The E-Ink display may sound cosmetic at first glance, but Insta360 is pitching it as a practical tool for busy production environments. Users can upload logos, names, channel branding, or production identifiers through the Insta360 app, with the image remaining visible even when the transmitter is powered off.
That could prove useful for multi-person shoots, event coverage, or productions juggling several wireless transmitters at once. Instead of squinting at tiny stickers or trying to remember which transmitter belongs to which speaker, users can identify units at a glance. It is basically name tags for audio nerds, except much more expensive and dramatically more useful.
Insta360 says the E-Ink technology was chosen for more than aesthetics. Unlike OLED screens, E-Ink only consumes power during refreshes, helping preserve battery life during long recording sessions. The company also points to better sunlight visibility outdoors, where traditional displays can become difficult to read.
Three Microphones, Multiple Pickup Modes

Mic Pro’s second major feature centers around its built-in three-microphone array. Traditional wireless mics typically rely on a single omnidirectional capsule, but Insta360 says its new system uses digital signal processing to emulate multiple polar patterns from a single transmitter.
Users can switch between omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8 pickup modes directly through the receiver or companion app. Cardioid mode is positioned as a directional option for vlogging, livestreaming, and voice-focused recording, while figure-8 mode targets interviews and two-person conversations.
The company also highlights AI-powered noise cancellation driven by an onboard NPU chip. Insta360 says the processing is designed to reduce wind, crowd noise, and environmental distractions without flattening or distorting vocal clarity.
Built for Creators Who Hate Clipped Audio

Mic Pro includes 32-bit float internal recording, a feature increasingly common in high-end field recorders but still relatively rare in compact wireless systems. Insta360 says this wide dynamic range helps prevent clipped recordings during sudden volume spikes, making it easier to recover audio during post-production.
Each transmitter includes 32GB of onboard storage for backup recording, with files automatically split every 30 minutes for easier file management. Stereo internal recording is supported, which Insta360 claims is unique in this category.
The system can scale beyond the usual two-transmitter setup found in many compact wireless kits. Insta360 says Mic Pro supports both four-transmitter-to-one-receiver setups and two-transmitter-to-four-receiver configurations for multi-camera productions and larger recording environments.
Direct Insta360 Camera Integration

Mic Pro can connect directly to several Insta360 cameras over Bluetooth, including the X5, X4 Air, Ace Pro 2, and GO Ultra. This removes the need for a dedicated receiver when working inside the Insta360 ecosystem.
Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours per transmitter, extending to 30 hours with the included charging case. Insta360 says a five-minute charge can provide up to 1.5 hours of operation.
The system supports DSLR and mirrorless cameras through a 3.5mm connection, along with USB-C and Lightning adapters for smartphones. Insta360 says timecode sync drift stays under one frame across 24 hours.
Pricing and Availability
The Insta360 Mic Pro is available now. Pricing for the 2 TX + 1 RX kit starts at $329.99, with additional configurations offered through Insta360’s online store, Amazon, and authorized distributors worldwide.
