Huawei keeps getting stronger this year with each new release. The Huawei Mate X3 is now official. According to a number of press releases online, this new entrant is impressive in a number of ways.

A quick look at the features show that it is a foldable smartphone, OLED displays, slim, and water resistant. That’s exactly what astute users are wishing for.

Striking features of Huawei Mate X3

For one thing, the Mate X3 wins because it is lighter than its competing devices. The manufacturer reveals that it’s just 238 grams in weight. When compared to other models, a tard lighter. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is 24 grams heavier.

Huawei refuses to compromise on other features in spite of the low weight. But the device has larger displays, bigger battery, and a periscope zoom camera. It is just 5.3mm thick when unfolded.

Mate X3 makes you feel like you’re holding a small book in your hand. Therefore, book lovers find it attractive.

There are two 120Hz capable displays in the Mate X3. The cover screen measures 6.4 inches which neither elaborate nor insignificant. The device offers 2504 x 1080 pixels resolution. It boasts 20.9:9 aspect ratio. Inside of it, there’s a 7.85-inch panel with another screen of 2496 x 2224 pixels resolution. Cap that with a near-square 8:7.1 aspect ratio.

This device packs three cameras on its rear – a 50MP main lens is joined by 13MP and 12MP shooters. Two 8MP selfie camera are also available; one for each screen.

For performance, Huawei has been banned from making use of 5G, so this device is limited to 4G network. Enjoy the large 4,800mAh battery capable of wired and wireless charging. For storage, it is packed with 12GB of RAM.

Water resistant – First of its kind

It’s amazing that this is the first non-Samsung phone to achieve the feat of being a water resistant foldable smartphone. That goes to explain how thoughtful the manufacturer is. The water proof standard of this device matches that of Galaxy Z Fold4. It measures to the same IPX8 standard as the Fold4.

Mate X3 price

The starting price is $1,999 for the 256GB variant but we aren’t sure if this is the official price. Double of that costs $2,050, while the 1TB variant will go for $2,340.
