Hands-On and Early Impressions: Soundcore Space 2

Mid-Range Headphones with Crazy Battery Life

The over-ear headphone category has a comfortable middle ground that Soundcore has been occupying for years. The Soundcore Space 2 at $130 continues that tradition, and from our time with them, makes a strong argument for owning that territory.

Design & Build

The Space 2 maintains the same general silhouette as the Space One, with a few refinements that matter. The hinge design has been reworked to sit inside the overall ear cup, which makes it feel sturdier on folding and unfolding. The memory foam and protein leather ear cushions are the standout feature here: we’ve worn these through full workdays and multi-hour travel sessions without any of the familiar pressure or fatigue. At 261 grams, they’re light for a folding over-ear. Available in Linen White, Seafoam Green, and Jet Black.

Setup

Bluetooth 6.1 pairing is fast. The Soundcore app handles ANC mode selection, HearID 3.0 personalization, EQ, Nap Mode, and LDAC activation (Android only). The interface is clean and well-organized. HearID 3.0 runs a quick hearing test and produces a personalized audio profile that’s worth the two minutes it takes.

Features & Performance

The 4-stage adaptive ANC is the most notable upgrade over the Space One. The re-engineered microphone placement and internal structure specifically target low-frequency rumble, and the result is effective on transit, in coffee shops, and on flights. There is a low-level static with ANC enabled and no audio playing, but it disappears once music starts.

The 40mm drivers deliver a slightly bass-forward but well-balanced sound. The stereo imaging is notably good for a closed-back at this price. LDAC on Android opens up 24-bit/96kHz wireless audio, which brings genuine improvements in detail with high-quality source material. iPhone users are limited to AAC, which is still solid. Battery has been excellent: consistent with the spec, lasting several days between charges with ANC running most of the time.

Call quality via the three-microphone AI array is clear and natural.

Early Verdict

The Space 2 is already among the more comfortable pair of ANC headphones we’ve tested in this price range. The ANC improvement over the Space One is real, and the 70-hour battery ceiling gives these a reliability advantage over most competitors at twice the price. We want more time evaluating the ANC in flight conditions and with varied listening content before the full review. But at $130, these are already a strong recommendation.
