Casio announced two rugged Android 4.0 tablets for business field use, the V-T500-GE and V-T500E. Both featured 10.1-inch LED-backlit displays, 1.5GHz dual-core processors, NFC read/write, digital pen support (sold separately), hand belts for secure gripping, and a neck strap. Shock-resistant designs met IP54 standards for dust and splash protection.
Pricing and availability were not confirmed at announcement. The type of product expected to show up on construction sites, telephone utility work, and other outdoor field environments.
