BOOX Unveils Go 6 (Gen II) E-Reader with New Note-Taking Capabilities and Refreshed Design

BOOX has officially announced the launch of the Go 6 (Gen II), marking the second generation of its highly portable 6-inch E Ink electronic reader. Built specifically for users on the move, the upgraded device transforms the original Go 6 from a standard e-reader into a dual-purpose reading and digital notetaking tool. Alongside the functional upgrades, the device introduces a refreshed aesthetic available in four new colorways.

Enhanced Functionality: Integrated Digital Notetaking

The most significant evolution in the Go 6 (Gen II) is the introduction of dedicated notetaking features to the product line. When paired with the optional InkSense Plus stylus (available as a separate purchase), users can leverage a built-in notes application to annotate digital books, highlight text, and draft handwritten lists.

Designed to serve as a compact productivity tool, the native software allows for the rapid capture of thoughts, reminders, and daily tasks during commutes or travel.

Travel-Optimized, Suitcase-Inspired Aesthetic

The exterior of the Go 6 (Gen II) has undergone a complete redesign inspired by travel luggage. The chassis features a specialized back shell detailed with tactile grooves and ergonomic curves. For the first time, the line introduces four distinct color options:

  • Plum
  • Stone
  • Shell
  • Custard

Engineered for extreme portability, the device weighs approximately 160 grams and measures just 6.8 mm in thickness, allowing it to easily fit into pockets or small bags.

Advanced Display and Hardware Performance

The Go 6 (Gen II) features a 6-inch high-definition monochrome ePaper display with a pixel density of 300 PPI, engineered to replicate the look of traditional printed paper without glare. To accommodate varying environmental conditions, the screen includes an adjustable dual-tone (warm and cold) front lighting system.

Under the hood, internal performance has been boosted with 3GB of RAM to ensure fluid navigation and responsive writing inputs. The e-reader operates on an Android-based ecosystem complete with native access to the Google Play Store, enabling users to install third-party reading and productivity applications. Power is managed by a high-capacity battery designed to sustain multiple days of operation on a single charge.
