Verizon Wireless today announced the Samsung Galaxy Stellar, a mid-range Android with an entry-level price. Available in stores and online starting September 6, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handset will cost zero dollar after $50 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreements. Specifications are no surprise and include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera (rear), 1.3-megapixel camera (front), microSD expansion, and support for Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE.
In terms of software, the Galaxy Stellar features a Starter Mode for new Android users, a handful of Amazon apps (Kindle, Shopping, MP3), and IMDB. Of course there’s also the standard fare of Google apps, including the Google Play store.

The easy-to-use 4G LTE enabled Samsung Galaxy Stellar is designed to be compact so it fits easily in a customer’s hand and make the first time smartphone experience simple. Built with a compact design, the Stellar features a dual interface option so customers can choose between Starter Mode or Standard Mode. Starter Mode gives customers a simplified home screen display with preset widgets such as Favorite Apps, Favorite Contacts and Favorite Settings for quick and easy access to frequently used apps and settings.
