Calendar.AI – Now with a 7 day free trial! (Review)

Life is hectic. Sometimes there’s no other way to describe it. From work to kids, keeping a solid schedule is tough. Calendar.AI wants to help you find some order in that appointment book with its new mobile app. And now Calendar.AI is offering a free 7 day trial with unlimited enriched business insights into your meetings. You’ll discover everything you need to know about the people and companies you meet with.

Bringing it all together

Calendar.Ai is a calendar app that syncs all your shared accounts into one, simple interface. From your personal Gmail to your work inbox, you can streamline your day into a single app.

This includes social sites like Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well. These integrations offer you real-time updates of your clients before you head into a meeting. No rush to see what company or background information in the blitz to an interview. You have it all right there.

It’s worth noting the contact insights of socials are not available in the free tier. (More on pricing later.)

It’s about the schedule

Arguably the most impressive thing about Calendar.Ai is the Smart Scheduling. With this feature, you can set times of the week that you aren’t currently tasked with and send invites to other attendees. This gives them up-to-date time slots for you to meet and then they make a choice.

Once the other invitee selects a block of time, you get a notification to confirm. Then all recipients get a new ping to the meeting details. It’s a truly clever way to avoid the back of forth of “well I can’t do now, but I have two hours on these three days next week”. No email tag, just one invite with all your available options.

Conferencing is there, too

Another great feature in the current climate is Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams integration. If you link your account, the Calendar.Ai will pull in the respective calls you currently have scheduled.

Again, this makes Calendar.Ai a great tool to mitigate your plethora of apps. No worries about which contacts are using each video call platform. Just open Calendar.Ai and select the call link and you will launch the appropriate app.

Pricing

The free tier of Calendar.Ai from the Google Play Store gets you many of the features out fo the box, such multiple accounts, and Smart Scheduling. However, to get many of the extensions like social contacts, etc. you’ll have to upgrade to Premium at $4.17 per month (billed annually at $49.99). Premium still limits contacts and company insights to just 30 accounts.

To unlock unlimited features, you’ll need to step it up one more notch to Pro. This moves your total cost per month to $8.75 per month ($104.99 annually). Pro gives you access to all your companies and contacts insights and 365 days of searchable data.

Conclusion

Calendar.Ai is a great option for the power broker who’s tied to their calendar and contacts. With multiple accounts, contact and company insights, and additional extensions of sister app Calls.Ai, Calendar.Ai is a must-have. You can download the app today at the Google Play Store. As mentioned, pricing does play a role, but let us know what you think of this great app in the comments.

How to crossplay Fortnite on mobile with other platforms

0

One of the best parts about today’s more popular games is that they can be played with other players, regardless of platform. Take, for instance, Fortnite, which has been kicking around a few years now, constantly roping in new players.

If you’re itching to play Fortnite with your friends, here’s a quick-start guide on how to play the game with your friends on the mobile, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the PC.

The guide will not cover how to play with iOS users currently as there is no way to play on iOS currently.

Pre-requisites:

Before you begin, make sure you first have the game downloaded from our guide. aAs of today, Fortnite is still not in the Google Play Store, so you will have to use the aforementioned method to get it on your Android device.

Second, if you aren’t on the latest version of the game, follow this guide to update your game to the latest version.

Third, if your friends are on any non-smartphone/tablet system, ask them to enable cross-platform play. If they already play with other console players, it means they already have it enabled.

Let’s get to playing!

Once you’ve done all of the above, boot up your game with the play button via the Fortnite app or the Epic Games store app.

You will eventually be loaded into your lobby.

First, you will need to know your Epic ID or your Epic Games account name. This will be hovering about your character’s head in Fortnite.

Once you know your Epic ID, share it with your friend or if you have to add them, tap on the top left of the screen to bring the social menu.

Tap on the add friend tab and in there enter your friend’s Epic ID.

If you are adding your friend, enter their Epic ID in the box and ask them to accept your friend request.

Once your friend has added you, open the social menu one more time and it will take you to the Party Up screen by default. Over here look for your friend and tap on their name.

A new menu will pop-out and give you a few choices. Choose Invite to party or Join party (if their party is set to public), otherwise have your friend send you an invite.

You will be prompted to tap Accept on the screen to join your friend’s party.

Once you have either joined your friend’s party, or they have joined yours, just choose the game mode you want to play, tap Ready! and you are good to go!

Keep in mind that playing with players on any other system that isn’t Android (smartphone or tablet) will pair you with other consoles or PC players. As such, if you’re going to take on such intense competition, we recommend connecting a controller to your phone.

How to stop Instagram from tracking everything you do on your Android device

0

It is not a secret that social networks are huge gatherers of data about users. That is how the algorithm operates – it compiles the patterns of your performance online and then categorizes ads and other promoted content. The controlling features of Instagram are closed for users. That means – you cannot completely stop the app from collecting data about what you are doing online and limit the kinds of advertising that you see in your feed.

As a matter of fact, any attempt to buy and use 100, 500, or 20 Instagram likes for business or personal blog promotion can also be tracked and noticed by specific algorithms but it’s not crucial. However there are methods to put some borders for Instagram, and in this article, we will give you this content to make your time online more comfortable for you.

Basic security

There are some reasons you should enter the settings of your app and check what you actually share, maybe without even knowing.

  1. First of all, you will notice the Security paragraph, where you will find an Access Data point.
  2. When you tap it, you can discover everything that is connected with your account, like phone numbers, or email addresses.
  3. Also, the changes that the user did to the password will be revealed to him, and the overall interaction in the app too.

IG gathers 25 data categories, e.g. poll interactions and other Stories activity, followed hashtags, the changes that users make in their bio, and so on.

The sad aspect about it is even if you can discover all this info without any doubt, there are not too many actions that you can perform to improve this situation. For example, you can erase your history of searches, but it won’t vanish without a trace forever. Occasionally this information will be restored, as soon as you will look for the same thing on Instagram or Facebook.

Another function that can be diminished is applying your contact list into the network database. Once you put in your contacts, the algorithm of Instagram is competent to provide recommendations for friends. However, at the same time, subtracting your CL is also a source to receive the info about your social actions. This option works in another way – you might withdraw the contacts from Instagram.

Geo position

Instagram is positioned as a mobile platform, or in other words, people use it primarily with their smartphones. And when you post a photo or story, you could enable the geological location finder, which is basically the channel for Instagram to gather this data. This feature is shut down by standard settings and can be altered in too. To provide permission for tracking and sharing your location, you will have to attend your device settings and permit or restrict this action. You can’t accomplish that in the app Settings.

On the Android phone, tap Settings, and after that enter the paragraph Apps and locate Instagram there.  The features that can be restricted/allowed on here are:

  • location
  • microphone
  • camera
  • contacts
  • depository space of your device, etc.

You can either allow the app to gather information all the time (meaning when you are not in the app), only when you are using it, or never. These actions would be analogous to IOS device owners.

Managing The Advertising

Instagram is now one of the channels where Facebook is grossing money. And so, the platform is full of numerous ads. Occurring the parent company, Facebook runs it completely, and quite successfully. The power of Instagram as a marketplace has increased as the platform introduced the shopping features, which is why this network’s ads system has strong support from FB servers.

The range of ads that you observe is established on the knowledge about your preferences that is gathered by both Instagram and Facebook. Inside the platform, you will usually see merchandise that is parallel to the one that you liked, followed, or shared. For example, if you subscribed to and liked some posts about swimsuits, with 97 percent probability you will meet in your feed the promoted posts from other brands that provide this piece of clothing, probably in your region.

Your character and interests can also be tracked outside of the platform. The small component of code that is called Facebook Pixel is embedded in practically every website on the internet. It moreover accumulates detailed info about the kind of products that you were interested in or bought. The identifier that is linked to the Pixel will then categorize and decide what advertising you will later see.

The amount of control that you get over the huge marketing machine, that includes Instagram is microscopic. In the Settings of your app, you can detect what ads entertained you. Meaning: you appreciated a post, left a comment on it, saved it, or watched the major portion of a promoted video. Looking through that will allow you to predict what kind of advertising you will observe in the nearest time.

To dismiss the individual ads, you should:

  • Hit three dots in the right upper corner.
  • Then, choose Hide.
  • Or you can report it if you consider this material inappropriate and against the policy of Instagram.

To get more power over the ads, you will have to stop by your Facebook page. The changes that you would make in it, are applied to Instagram too. On FB you are able to change your preferences, and that would filter out the advertising you don’t care for.

The Ad Preferences page is a wishing well for finding the data. It will demonstrate what Facebook considers to be your choices in content, what companies have loaded the data about you, and how it is targeting you. So what you should do is to spend some precious time examining the points in this field and changing them to your favor.

The prominent criteria that you can base your choice on are:

  • employment
  • connections
  • marriage
  • studying data

All that can be discovered in the field on Facebook where your bio is. So don’t be surprised to see that many of your friends had deleted their biodata. They just want to avoid ads.

Get Rid Of Instagram

The most radical direction to avoid annoying ads and don’t let the platform stack the info about you is to eliminate your app. To withdraw the account inside the app is impossible, remember it. To perform that you can do it through this link. But you must realize that everything that you possess there – your:

  • pictures
  • comments
  • videos
  • likes
  • followers

…will be deleted as well, and there is no chance to get them restored. There is too a possibility to freeze your profile – this option is called a temporary disability.

Destroying the app is a good idea if you just need to relax, and spend some quality time offline with your family and friends, experiencing what life is like when you don’t scroll the feed for half of the day.  This is a good way to have a rest from obtrusive trends and big chunks of informational garbage that you can incoherently consume on the platform. The algorithms are not perfect, and they cannot understand if you really like the ads that you watch. All they can rely on is your behavior on the internet. So you can also try to limit your surfing to the minimum and never subscribe to brands and influencers who are posting much product placement.

The Conclusion

Ads can be annoying. Hell, it can drive you crazy if there is too much of it or if it shows you something inappropriate. But we must understand that without ads, the revenue of social media will be lowered, and thus, their owners and developing teams will lose interest in working on it. And with that, the quality of social media experience would be discredited a lot. Besides, the possibility to work with ads on social media has given lots of small local businesses to grow and blossom with high-quality products, which is actually a nice course of things.

Eight of the best apps to look after your kids

0

If you didn’t know what spy apps are, they are basically apps that are used to spy on people without their knowledge. Such apps are used for tracking their phone, tracking an employee, or watching over kids. By any means, we don’t support the use of these apps for any bad reasons. You shouldn’t use spy apps unless you have their permission. If you are looking for spy apps to look over your kids, that’s definitely fine but please don’t involve in any malicious activity.

So, in this article, we are going to be talking about eight of the best spy apps that are available for Android and iPhone. For clarification, we are simply telling you guys about these apps just for you to know that they exist. It’s all upon you to check applicable laws and make sure that the apps don’t break any of them. Please use them responsibly if you are looking forward to downloading any of these apps. For more about spy apps, check out https://phonetrackerguide.com/ for various app reviews.

iKeyMonitor

If you are looking for apps to help look over your kid’s activity, iKeyMonitor is one of the best options available. It is extremely powerful, very easy to use, and is capable of doing a lot of stuff. It allows you to track the calls, texts on the phone, you can spy on the social media apps. You can also check the websites they are going into, the app also enables location tracking.

An amazing option available on this app is the availability of free plans. This is app is among one of the best spy apps for free. A downside is that this app will work best with older models of iPhones because, in the newer versions, there is two-factor authentication enabled.

FlexiSPY

FlexiSPY is another amazing spy app that offers powerful features. The app allows you to monitor a particular phone on various devices like computers, tablets, laptops, etc. before buying the app, you can try out the demo as well.

A major downside of this app is that though it has tons of powerful features, it comes with an even high risk. In order for using the app, you will have to Jailbreak the phone on which the app is installed.

Jailbreaking has a really big disadvantage, Jailbreaking your phone has a higher risk of your phone getting hacked. In my opinion, putting your personal data at risk to spy on a person is just a dumb act.

XNSPY

XNSPY is a really amazing app for monitoring iPhones. The app has tons of amazing features that are both powerful and easy to use. The customer reviews on the app do reflect how easy the download process is. Downloading and monitoring a phone is literally a piece of cake with this app.

On the other side of the spectrum, I’ve noticed that the customer reviews also state that the customer service of this app is not at all good. Not only XNSPY but most of the apps mentioned in this article have the same issue, bad customer service.

Web Watcher

If you are looking for one of the best spy apps to monitor your kid’s activity, consider Web Watcher your way to go. The company is really proud of the fact that this app doesn’t require you to Jailbreak your phone. The app can be downloaded and used on both apple and android devices.

One of the best features of the app is the Alert Log option. The app also offers a free trial period so that you can check how the app works and get a subscription if you want to.

Cocospy

The app is specially designed for monitoring kids’ activity. It is very easy to use and can be installed on any mobile device. If you want to monitor apps such as messenger and Snapchat, you will have to Jailbreak your phone, it also lacks a free trial. Cocospy is generally accepted over 5 continents around the world.

Auto Forward

Auto Forward makes spying on phones a literal piece of cake. You can remotely access and spy on the target phone with the help of this app. Whatever you want to monitor using this app, you won’t have to Jailbreak. One amazing feature is that this app provides access to audio and media files.

Mobistealth

Mobistealth has a really simple and easy to use interface in the app, you can access social media apps, messages, and calls without having to Jailbreak your phone. The only downside is that the features are really simple and doesn’t include as many features as other apps.

mSpy

With the help of this app, you can look at deleted messages, incoming and outgoing texts as well as the call history on the phone. You can also track the phone with the help of the GPS feature.

LG Mobile offering some insane Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals

0

If you happen to follow me elsewhere, you will know my affinity for LG smartphones. I think it mostly has to do with the fact their 3.5mm jack is second to none and I have a semi-unhealthy obsession with headphones. In any case LG announced some pretty crazy Black Friday deals on some of their latest devices. Let’s start with the craziest, shall we?

Wing

LG wing with swivel screen opened

  • AT&T – From now until 12/31 you can pick the the LG Wing for $350 with a qualified trade in. New and existing customers are eligible
  • T-Mobile – T-Mobile may have lost their minds with this one. If you have two current lines, or you activate two new lines, and you purchase a Wing on a monthly payment plan you get the second one (or a Velvet) free via 24 bill credits. This one ends on 11/30 though so act quick.
  • Verizon – Between 11/26-11/29 if you switch to Verizon you can get the Wing free with an eligible trade in one select unlimited plans. Current customers can get up to $650 off the Wing when you add a line and trade in an eligible device

Velvet

  • AT&T – From now until 12/31 get the Velvet for $5/month with eligible trade in and you either add a line or upgrade
  • T-Mobile – From now until 11/30, similar to the Wing deal, when you buy one Velvet you get one free if you add two lines or have an active two lines of service

V60

  • AT&T – From now until 12/31 get $700 off the V60 with the trade in of an eligible device and you either add a line or upgrade a line
  • Verizon – Between 11/26-11/29 if you switch to Verizon and trade in an eligible device you can get the V60 for free on select unlimited plans. Also with any V60 purchase you will also get a free dual screen.
  • US Cellular – From now until 12/27 buy a V60 and get $200 off

K92 5G

  • AT&T – From now until 12/31 you can get the K92 for $5/month. This is available to new and existing customers. No trade in required.
  • US Cellular – From now until 12/27 you will get $200 off the K92 (retail price is $399.99).

LG ain’t playing this holiday season. If i can somehow talk my wife into it, I would love to take advantage of that T-Mobile Wing deal. Will any of you be picking up a new LG device? Let us know in the comments which on you like the best.

Ting Mobile shuffles rate plans

0

A lot of you may not know who or what Ting Mobile is. At its heart, Ting Mobile is an MVNO. Before the Sprint/T-Mobile merger they basically ran on either Sprint or T-Mobile towers depending on whether you wanted CDMA service or GSM. As a result of said merger T-Mobile was required to sell off some of their spectrum. Enter DISH.

On August 1, 2020 DISH acquired the assets of Ting Mobile. More recently, however, Ting Mobile announced three new rate plans, Flex, Set 5, and Unlimited.

Depending on your data usage you might end up finding a killer deal here. Let’s get into the details; remember these are all no contract plans.

  • Flex – This is the cheapest plan, you’re looking at $10 per month for unlimited talk and text. Data is pay-per-use and you’re looking at $5 per shared GB
  • Set 5 – You’ll get the same unlimited talk and text as the Flex plan, but the Set 5 plan also includes 5GB of data for $25 per month. Data on this plan can also be used for a hotspot.
  • Unlimited – Exactly what it sounds like, sorta. You’ll get unlimited talk, text, and data for $45 per month. This comes with a couple caveats. You’ll only get 12GB of hotspot data with this plan, and 22GB will be high speed LTE/5G data. If you use all 22GB, your data will be slowed to 2G speeds for the remainder of your billing month.

All in all these are actually pretty good plans, provided you get decent coverage where you live. If you’re curious and think it might be a good fit for you, you could start with the Flex plan. Just keep an eye on your data for that month until you know if you’re going to stick around.

If you need a phone you can either bring your own, or buy one from Ting. It has a range of devices, from the $99 Motorola e6 all the way up to the $1,100 iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Do these new plans make you want to try Ting Mobile for yourself? Let us know in the comments what you think.

UK moves up ban on Huawei 5G equipment from 2027 to September 2021

0

The UK government has moved up the time table on phasing Huawei equipment out of its 5G network. Originally, network providers had until 2027 to install any equipment that was bought from Huawei before the end of the year. However, that deadline has been pushed way up to September of 2021.

The push is in response to the government fearing network providers would stock up before the previous deadline to install at a later date. While providers will no longer be able to install new Huawei equipment after September 2021, maintaining previously installed equipment is still allowed.

Speaking on the matter, the Digital Secretary said he wants the “complete removal of high-risk vendors” from the UK’s 5G networks. He continued by saying, the law gives “new and unprecedented powers” which would allow the UK government to “identify and ban telecoms equipment which poses a threat to our national security.”

The Telecommunications Security Bill will mean big fines for network providers that do not remove Huawei equipment which could add up to over £100,000 per day.

Huawei refused to comment on the matter to the BBC, but in the past, spokesperson Edward Brewster was quoted saying it’s “bad news for anyone in the UK with a mobile phone” and “it threatens to move Britain into the digital slow lane.”

However, Mr. Dowden believes this will create more competition in the market saying, “our plans will spark a wave of innovation in the design of our future mobile networks.” Additionally, he believes the new strategy will “make sure we are never again dependent on a handful of telecoms vendors for the smooth and secure running of our networks.”

Microsoft is working on a way to run Android apps on Windows computers

0

Ever since Microsoft threw in the towel with Windows Phone, it has been busy trying to gain a foothold with Android. Over the years, we’ve seen the tech giant release apps for the platform, as well as purchasing some of the most popular Android apps such as Swiftkey.

More recently, we’ve seen Microsoft work on ways to integrate Android into Windows with its Your Phone app. By using the app on your computer and Android phone, it allows you to mirror what’s on the screen, make and receive calls, run apps, and transfer files.

Now, it seems Microsoft is ready to take it a step further by adding support for Android apps on your Windows PC with Project Latte. That doesn’t mean you’ll be able to fire up the Play Store on your Windows machine and install apps or grab APK files and run them on your computer.

Developers will have to do some work to make the apps compatible, but Microsoft is trying to make it as easy as possible by using an Android layer running over the top of the Windows Subsystem for Linux. In theory, this should make it easier for developers to add Windows support to their Android apps. Afterward, the app will need to be submitted to the Microsoft Store where you’ll be able to download and install it on your Windows PC.

Considering the apps will be running on hardware that hasn’t been certified by Google, there won’t be any support for apps that rely on Google Play Services. So don’t expect to run any Google apps, and developers will have to spend time removing any Google Play Service dependencies.

I’d caution you over getting too excited though. If you’ve ever used Android apps on a Chromebook before, then you know the experience is lacking. I’ve run into issues with apps refusing to work, crashes, and features that are downright broken. If Google can’t get Android apps to run properly on its own OS, then support on Windows could be even worse.

At this time, Project Latte is expected to launch in the fall of 2021. Of course, that’s just a projected date, and software development is rather infamous for its delays. However, that’s generally for the best, because it gives developers time to ensure the software works properly, or at the very least, squash some bugs before release.

iOS application development for businesses: A step towards the future

0

Since the advent of the Internet, there have emerged explicit advancements in the technological arena. People all over the globe are developing a sort of dependency on various innovations in their daily lives. The mobile phone is one such creation. In conjunction with Internet resources, smartphones have become somewhat of an everyday necessity. In the current day and age, we use apps to shop, study, protect our homes and assets, and travel. This has brought about the necessity for businesses to embrace the mobile app trend to stay afloat in the industry.

Millions of people globally currently use iOS supported devices such as iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Users for its customer-oriented apps prefer the operating system model from Apple Inc. To take advantage of this market opportunity and consumer trend, you can consider developing an iOS app to reach the target audience within the iOS pool. However, before we delve into the fundamentals of iOS app development to boost your enterprise, let’s first understand what this operating system is and how you can utilize it to benefit your company.

So, What is iOS?

iOS is an operating system that was designed and developed by Apple Inc. It is the second most widely installed mobile operating system globally, falling slightly short of the Android OS. Application development based on iOS technology is utilized worldwide as a viable strategy to expand businesses and grow brands. More and more people are outsourcing solutions from custom app developers in Los Angeles to create apps made available to the public through the Apple App Store. But why is this? Read on to find out why.

iOS App Development

In recent years, there has been an exponential increase in the prevalent use of iOS supported smartphones. Therefore, the value of mobile phone apps can no longer be overlooked.

The development of mobile apps on iOS is enabled by the iOS SDK (Software Development Kit), which comes in multiple types. Each offers different and unique capabilities, functionalities, and tools to make each one compatible with a specific hardware platform and operating system.

There exist two main categories in the iOS app development landscape. Differences arise in the basic concept of development and development tools.

Native iOS app development

Native iOS applications are written and run using development tools and programming languages like Xcode. Mac OS X is the only operating system that is supported to develop a native iOS app. Some development tools can be obtained free of charge; you may have to pay for others. They each come with step-by-step guidelines for developers that advise on the development process from coding to creating the storyboard and installing view and navigation controls to develop a native iOS application.

Hybrid iOS app development

Apps created under the umbrella of the hybrid iOS technology blend elements of native apps and various web applications like JavaScript and HTML. Hybrid application developers create apps by writing code in one programming language for use in multiple mobile platforms.

Hybrid vs. Native Apps: Which Is Better For Businesses?

Native apps provide exceptional performance, data protection and are easy to understand. A significant downside is that developers use a distributed codebase to write, which require frequent maintenance. In the long run, this consumes more time and funds.

On the other hand, hybrid apps are written on a single code. They are easier to maintain in the long run. The short development times enables one to create multiple apps within the same timeframe. Additionally, they guarantee consistency with the same user interface (UI) across platforms. However, hybrid apps have bounded efficiency and require a steady internet connection at all times.

Tip For Thought

Whether you opt for a native or hybrid app, ensure you choose the technology that best suits your business’s development goals. Always have your audience in mind. After all, they are the main reason behind the app’s development. A viable plan that lays out the whole iOS mobile app development process will help you create, validate, and launch your company’s app with success.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 may feature a voice unlock option using Bixby

0

If past Samsung launches are anything to go by, then we should be seeing the Galaxy S21 debut within the next few months. As the release date approaches, we are continuing to learn more and more about Samsung’s upcoming flagship. For example, last week we learned that the S21 Ultra will get support for the S Pen and the Note series may be discontinued.

Now, a new tidbit leaked out about Samsung adding a feature to unlock the phone using a Bixby biometric voice option. The news comes from SamMobile and it’s rather sparse on the details, except that it is expected to be included in Samsung’s latest version of One UI. For the uninitiated, One UI is the name of Samsung’s software skin over Android, and the Galaxy S21 is expected to launch with version 3.1.

That would make the Galaxy S21 the first phone to run One UI 3.1, and it also means that the voice unlock feature could later come to other Samsung phones after they receive the software update.

Samsung has toyed with utilizing this feature in the past with Bixby having options to wake up your device and take commands. There was even a way to set a voice password, however, both of these are no longer available in Bixby. Perhaps the feature was pulled over security concerns, if so, I hope Samsung has made some improvements.

There is a lot of questions surrounding the new Bixby biometric voice option. We still don’t know when it will launch, if other phones will get it, how secure it will be, if it will work with a face mask, and so on. However, we do know that it will be on the Galaxy S21 for starters and it’s possible it could trickle down to more devices with the One UI 3.1 update.
