0

The biggest sale of the year is almost here. BLUETTI is kicking off the holiday shopping season on November 11th. Beyond tons of great deals on power stations, it also offers Mystery Boxes and Exclusive Giveaways, and even arranges Lucky Draws. Score the following best-buys and freebies now or never.

AC500 & B300S

Starts at $4499 (was $5099), Save $600

This power giant was released on Indiegogo on September 1, 2022, with $ 11 million raised till October 30th.

The AC500 is also 100% modular and can team up with B300S or B300 expansion battery for a staggering 18432Wh(6*B300S).

Meanwhile, the AC500 is a leap forward from its predecessor AC300 in terms of output and input. Its inverter allows a continuous power of 5000W and a surge of 10000W, charging most high-powered appliances with ease. For recharging, it supports 5000W input by a wall outlet and 3000W by solar panels. When combining the two inputs (8000W at max), AC500 with two B300S will be fed up from 0 to 80% within 1 hour. This significantly reduces the down time.

AC300&B300

Starts at $2999 (was $3699), Save $700

The modular AC300 features a 3000W inverter with 16 outlets. Connect it with four 3072Wh B300 expansion batteries, you will get a whopping capacity of 12288Wh. Whether it’s building a home backup power system or providing sufficient power for glamping, the AC300 & B300 combo always has a way out.

Outages always drive people crazy with fears of spoiled food in the fridge and piles of smelly clothes. Luckily, with the AC300&B300 in the house, that will not happen as it can run a 700W fridge for 3.7 hours and a 500W washer for 5.2 hours, totally capable of maintaining a normal life until the grid comes back.

AC200MAX &B230

With 17 versatile outlets, the AC200P is powerful enough for camping and outdoor activities. Generally, recharging such a power giant is time-consuming, but the AC200P is an exception as it has 7 ways to top up, especially faster in the 1100W AC+Solar dual charging mode.

EP500& EP500Pro

EP500 Starts at $4399 (was $4999), Save $600

EP500Pro Starts at $4799(was $5999), Save $1200

The EP500 and EP500Pro boast a capacity of 5100Wh. With such enormous capacity, their size and weight appear to be the only drawback, but not really, for there are four smooth wheels at the bottom for mobility.

The EP500 and EP500Pro can deliver 2000W and 3000W power, respectively. Put simply, they can power 90% of common devices without breaking a sweat. Bonding two identical units of the EP500 series, a 240V/4000W split phase system is ready for use. In addition, both of them enable the UPS function to avoid data loss and life inconveniences in case of a power outage.

Soundcore Liberty 4 wireless earbuds review

0

Soundcore has been around for a few years now, so if you haven’t heard of them, you should take note. The Anker-owned company has been pumping great wireless audio devices in that span that can compete with any high-end competitor.

We’ve been testing the latest from the company with the Soundcore Liberty 4 wireless earbuds and continue to be impressed with the offerings in Soundcore’s lineup.

Design

The Soundcore Liberty 4 earbuds borrow heavily from other options in this market. You get a fairly common teardrop earpiece with a stemmed bottom. The fit is very good on these earbuds and the light weight lends to comfortable usage over several hours.

The big addition to the Liberty 4 is the click interactions. Yep, much like the big-time fruit company, Soundcore has added the ability to control features by clicking a portion of the stem of each earbud.

We’ll cover more on this later, but you could knock this for possible infringement, but it’s a nice option that doesn’t need weird capacitive touches to change common inputs while using the audio devices.

Sound

The audio prowess of the Soundcore Liberty 4 earbuds is above average. This segment is never going to be an audiophile winner, but the punchiness of these earphones is quite nice. The bass is well-rounded with mids and highs that come in nicely when needed.

Whether it was robust musical numbers or more bland podcasts, I found zero issues with the audio here. Soundcore has always done a great job of balancing their outputs and the Liberty 4 buds performed admirably here.

This can be attributed to Soundcore including active noise cancellation, 360-degree spatial audio, and ACAA premium sound codec. All wrapped together produce earbuds worth taking note of as your next purchase.

Clickiness

Now, back to the previous mention of the clicking stems. Soundcore has decided to forego the more common capacitive touch area on the outside of the earbuds for stems that can be compressed for similar interactions.

These options can be customized via the Soundcore app but come out of the box with a few defaults. Squeezing once will pause or resume music payback. A double click will answer or end phone calls. And the same double squeeze will change the active noise cancellation profiles.

This click option works very well and really comes into play in scenarios where you have condensation on your hands. Sweaty workouts, pool times, or rainy days will make you struggle with traditional capacitive touch areas on most earbuds. Soundcore has avoided this through design with the Liberty 4 earbuds.

My one negative is that my test units seem uneven on the force needed between the two earbuds. The right earpiece is much easier to compress than my left. So much so, I’ve found myself inadvertently pressing it numerous times while either repositioning the earbuds during a workday or even eating. The right earbuds were so sensitive that my jaw and ear movement seemed to occasionally activate the music to pause.

Battery life and charging

Endurance is another feature that the Liberty 4 earbuds excel at. Soundcore rates them at nine hours per charge and I’ve found that to be accurate. I consistently get through a full eight-hour shift without reaching for the charging case.

The case adds an additional charge time for 28 total hours of playtime combined. When you need to recharge the entire setup, you have options. The case supports both USB-C and wireless charging.

Conclusion

Soundcore continues to be a brand in wireless audio to watch. The company adds another great solution with the Liberty 4 earbuds. With balanced sound, unique interactive controls, and great battery life you need to add these to your purchase list.

The Soundcore Liberty 4 earbuds can be had for $150 in two colorways. Soundcore has made them available on Midnight Black or Cloud White. You can purchase your Liberty 4s via Soundcore’s website or the company’s retail partner Amazon.

Innocn 40C1R Ultrawide Gaming Monitor review

0

Whether you’re looking to work or play, having a large monitor can be an essential tool. Measuring in at a whopping 40-inches wide, the Innocn 40C1R Ultrawide Gaming Monitor certainly fits the description of a large monitor, but what else does it have going for it? Fortunately, Innocn was kind enough to send one out for review so we could tell you more about it.

Design

There’s no getting around it, the Innocn 40C1R is a massive monitor. It sports a 40-inch widescreen using the ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio. If you’re unfamiliar, that’s a wider aspect ratio than widescreen TVs that use a 16:9 ratio, hence why the Innocn 40C1R is known as an “ultrawide” monitor.

Not only is the Innocn 40C1R large, it’s also quite heavy, weighing in at a little over 32lbs. Keep that in mind while setting it up because you may need a hand to get it attached to the stand and positioned on your desk.

The base also has some heft to it which is useful for keeping the monitor balanced and steady. It snaps in easily enough and features a hole to run your cables through. There are no buttons or levers on the stand and it moves freely from side to side or tilting up or down. To adjust the height, it’s as simple as lifting up or pushing down making the Innocn 40C1R easy to position exactly the way you want.

The Innocn 40C1R has a host of ports on the back, including a 90W USB Type-C port, DP1.4 connector, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Along with all of these ports, Innocn throws in a DP and USB Type-C cable in the box to get you all connected.

User experience

Let’s start out with the specs, as that’s one of the most important aspects in a monitor. We’ve already mentioned the size, weight, ratio, and port situation but there’s far more to a monitor than that.

Key specs

  • Display size: 40-inches
  • Resolution: 3440 x 1440
  • Aspect ratio: 21:9
  • Panel type: IPS LCD
  • Max brightness: 500 Nits
  • Color gamut: 95% DCI-P3
  • Refresh rate: 144Hz
  • HDR: HDR400

Resolution

Now that we’ve got the specs out of the way, how does it perform? For starters, the 3440 x 1440 resolution is a little low for a 40-inch monitor. However, it’s a fair trade-off, because it won’t require as beefy of a GPU like a 4K monitor would, and quality is still sufficient. Pictures, videos, and even gaming will look good, but if you’re working with a lot of text, not so much.

The text is still plenty legible, especially at this size, it’ll just look a little rough around the edges. Thankfully, that’s not the case when you’re dealing with images and videos where the resolution looks great, and even better if you can sit back a little further.

HDR

You might be thinking the Innocn 40C1R would be perfect for watching movies with its ultrawide cinematic aspect ratio, large screen, and HDR capability. Unfortunately, the HDR is underwhelming. It helps boost the saturation of the display, but you really need a higher peak brightness to show off the high dynamic range of an image. As long as you’re ok with the lackluster HDR performance, then movies still look great on this display, just don’t expect it to stand up next to a 4K TV with more range.

Refresh rate

Finally, we come to refresh rate where the Innocn 40C1R is rated for a maximum of 144Hz, however, it’s important to point out that you’ll need to use the Display Port to utilize the full 144Hz because the HDMI connection tops out at 100Hz. As far as how it looks, I found most games to look quite smooth on the Innocn 40C1R. There were still some occasions when I saw artifacts or a little motion blur, but overall, I was pleased and gaming looked great considering how budget-friendly this monitor is.

Speakers

Last, but not least, the Innocn 40C1R includes built-in speakers. The sound is decent enough if you just need to hear something and you aren’t too concerned with the quality. However, if you’re a gamer then you’ll most likely have a better setup with your own speakers or headset and won’t need to use the built-in speakers.

Final thoughts

The Innocn 40C1R Ultrawide Gaming Monitor has a huge display with average specs, but it checks most of the boxes for an affordable gaming monitor. Sure, it’s a little lacking in a few areas, but the fact that it delivers all of these features and a 40-inch panel for $600 makes it a decent value. If you can catch it when it’s on sale or dropped to $500 or below, then it becomes a great monitor with plenty of bang for your buck.

BLUETTI AC500 is finally available on official store and Amazon

0

BLUETTI AC500 has eventually raised $11 million on Indiegogo, breaking another record in BLUETTI’s history. The AC500 and its expansion battery B300S will hit the shelves of official store and Amazon on Nov 25th.

Sharing many parallels with the first modular model AC300, the AC500 goes far beyond with a bunch of improvements that set itself at the forefront of the solar generator market.

High-performance Features of BLUETTI AC500

  1. AC500 is 100% modular and compatible with B300 and B300S battery packs for a mind-blowing capacity of up to 18,432Wh.
  2.  A 5,000W inverter (10,000W surge) to cover the power needs in most cases even for high-power electronics.
  3.  Connecting with at least 2*B300S and charging via AC and PV simultaneously allows an 8,000W max input. 0-100% charging only takes 1.8~2.3 hours, significantly saving your charging time.
  4. Nine charging ways available, simply choose any one as you prefer.
  5. Built-in advanced BMS and LFP battery to ensure higher security and longer lifespan.
  6. Split Phase Bonding Function, connect two AC500s to double the capacity, voltage, and power to 36,864Wh, 240V/10,000W (a Fusion Box Pro is required and sold separately) .
  7. Monitor and control at the fingertips with BLUETTI APP. You can enjoy the latest firmware by OTA update over Wi-Fi directly.
  8. Weight/ Dimensions: 66.2lbs (30Kg)/ 20.5×12.8×14.1in (520×325×358mm).

AC500 system adopts selected LiFePO4 battery for long-term durability and 3,500+ charging cycles to 80% of its original capacity. Compared to the lithium-ion battery that most power stations and power banks use nowadays, the LiFePO4 battery type offers optimal performance, which is expected to last for over 10 years.

BLUETTI is dedicated to building a future with renewable energy and providing a budget-saving solution to go solar. Built-in with a matchless MPPT solar inverter, AC500 allows a 3000W maximum solar input. Therefore, it’s surely no surprise that recharging it from 0 to 80% SOC by prime sunshine only takes about 1.5 hours. Where there’s sunlight, there’s unlimited power supply.

While considering a reliable backup power for emergencies or unexpected blackouts, there’s no better options than AC500. The modular AC500 welcomes up to six B300s battery packs for a total capacity of 18,432Wh. Furthermore, thanks to the Fusion Box Pro, two AC500 sets can be connected in series to boast up to a 240V/6,000W output and 36,864Wh capacity, making it a solid power center to run your home essentials for days or weeks. Creating a solar system with compatible solar panels can literally realize power independence as unlimited energy supply will be available for entire house, outdoor camping, road trip, etc.

BLUETTI always uses advanced technologies enhance user experience. The BLUETTI App lets users control and monitor the power consumption, check the operation status, and OTA update the firmware to the latest version anytime from anywhere.

Charging a power monster doesn’t have to be time-consuming. AC500 can be charged by AC, solar, generator, lead-acid battery, dual, or triple charging methods. Plug in the wall outlet and solar panels, and you can efficiently charge the AC500 as speedy as 1 hour with a max 8,000W input.

Charging time for AC500 with two B300S (for reference ONLY):

  1. 3,000W MPPT solar charge: ≈2.5 hours
  2. 5,000W AC charging: ≈1.7 hours
  3. 8,000W AC+PV dual charging:≈ 1.2 hours

Generally speaking, it takes time to wake up a solar generator in chilly winter. However, the B300S expansion battery comes with intelligent self-heating capability that heats up immediately and actively even when the ambient temperature is as low as -20℃. It’s hardly surprising that AC500 system remains responsive and works effectively during the upcoming winter.

With the AC500, the future of building a sustainable lifestyle seems fairly bright.

Carsifi wireless Android Auto review

I can’t live without Android Auto now. I’ve had it several years in my previous vehicle via a Pioneer aftermarket addition and it was a “have to have it” option in the new car I purchased last month. Unfortunately, Android Auto is pretty standard on modern cars, but most manufacturers still consider the fully wireless variant a premium option.

Thankfully, we are in the fun world of tech and multiple companies are filling this void in the market with aftermarket Android Auto wireless adapters. We’ve covered a few others, but the latest we’ve spent time with is Carsifi. This new dongle brings all we’ve come to expect but also has a few surprises up its sleeve.

Plug and Play

You can’t get much easier of a setup. Like the competition we’ve used, the Carsifi Android Auto dongle is a breeze to get going in your car. Plug the included USB cable into the appropriate port in your car, connect to the dongle via Bluetooth settings, and then complete your onboarding via the car infotainment.

That’s it. You should have the Carsifi ready to enjoy your wireless jams in less than five minutes.

The Magic Button

So what sets Carsifi apart from other wireless Android Auto adapters? It’s the Magic Button. The company has built a dongle that supports multiple connections. Whether you carry a work phone and personal, or the more common, you and the significant other both have an Android, then Carsifi can be the solution.

You can accomplish this by independently setting up the secondary phone using the same steps above. Then, you can “hot swap” devices in the car by double-clicking the Magic Button. The unit defaults to the last known connection but easily swaps between owners with just the tap of this button.

Performance

The Carsifi dongle has performed exceptionally in my time with it installed. At first setup, it’s truly plug-and-play as if it’s any other Bluetooth audio unit. Afterward, your car should remember the connection and preset it moving forward.

My only complaint is that occasionally the Magic Button didn’t swap devices on the first try. Usually, a second double-click did the trick. Otherwise, you shouldn’t have any issues getting the Carsifi up and running in your vehicle.

Another notable is the battery life of the connected Android phone. It’s not great, but this is true for every other option to add wireless Auto as well. Using the combination of WiFi and Bluetooth simultaneously is taxing for the endurance of the phone attached.

An added bonus is that Carsifi has a companion app. This allows for basic software tweaks and more importantly, software updates. This makes it on par with the AAWireless and a step ahead of Moto MA1. Being able to fix bugs as they arise with little input from the consumer is a huge plus.

Conclusion

Carsifi is another outstanding way to add wireless Android Auto to a car that doesn’t have it from the factory. With a USB cable and quick connection to Bluetooth, you can add it to any car with wired Android Auto.

The last selling feature is that Carsifit won’t break the bank. At $100, this puts it firmly in the same range as its competition. Honestly, of the three wireless Android Auto options I’ve tested, Carsifi is my favorite.

I can’t put my finger on it, but it just seems to launch and perform slightly better than both AAWireless and the Moto. Add in the multiple device support with the Magic Button, and I think you’ve got the most complete aftermarket wireless adapter Android Auto users should take a look at.

Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max review

Air fryers have become a staple in most modern kitchens these days, and for good reason. They are an easier and healthier way to heat your food up and get that crispy texture without needing to deep fry it in oil. Additionally, air fryers are capable of replacing your oven in many scenarios with modes for baking, broiling, or roasting.

Fortunately, I was able to spend some time with one recently when Dreo was nice enough to send out its Air Fryer Pro Max to us for review.

Design

One of the standouts of the Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max is the see-through window on the front. I’ve browsed a lot of air fryers, and typically, most of them lack a window. This won’t be a dealbreaker for some, but I really love the reassurance of being able to check on my food while it’s cooking to ensure it’s not burning. A see-through window with a built-in light makes this much more convenient than having to manually remove the basket.

Speaking of the basket, the Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max features a large 6.8QT nonstick basket and plate included in the box. The plate uses food-safe silicone to hold it in place and rests on the bottom of the basket allowing heat to circulate and cook the underside of your food.

While many air fryers put the controls on the front of the unit, the Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max places them on the top to make space for the transparent window. I found no issue with this during use though. All of the buttons are laid out well and the display is easy to read.

User experience

I’ve spent the past few weeks cooking food in the Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max and everything has gone perfectly. The manual suggests subtracting 25 degrees from the cooking temperature and 25% off of the cooking time because air fryers cook more quickly, which has saved me time while also producing crispy results.

I love the built-in window for checking food and the automatic shake reminder. Plus, food wipes off easily when cleaning the nonstick surface when it’s time to give it a wash.

My only complaints would be that the removable tray on the inside can be a little difficult to insert or remove because of the silicone protectors, and there is still a slight smell after several uses.

I followed all of the guidelines in the manual to remove any smells, but regardless, there’s still a hint of a plasticky smell. Thankfully, it usually gets covered up by the smell of the food cooking and I believe it’s getting weaker with each use.

Final thoughts

Air fryers are fantastic for retaining the crunch of fried food without having to deep fry in more oil. They are also great for baking, roasting, and cooking without heating up the kitchen the way an oven does. Furthermore, ovens take more time and use more power.

All of this makes an air fryer a great addition to your kitchen, and the Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max would be a great choice due to all of its many features.

For starters, it has a spacious 6.8QT basket making it easy to cook for large families, it’s easy to clean, it has a maximum temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, and it features 5 different cooking modes and 6 presets. However, my favorite feature is the transparent window that allows me to check on food while it’s cooking.

The Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max is currently available from Amazon or Dreo’s website for $120 or less.
