Meet Circular’s new Ring Slim smart ring: Feature-packed wearable for Athletes

An emerging player in the smart wearable market, Circular has unveiled its latest health and fitness tracking smart ring – Ring Slim. Launched as a successor to the 2023 Ring Slim brings a solid build and several new software features. However, in terms of design, the latest ring doesn’t look very different from its predecessor. 

Looking at its features, the Ring Slim seems very promising, particularly in the increasingly competitive smart ring market. However, don’t forget that there are also big competitors in the smart ring domain such as well-known smart ring maker Oura and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring is sure to give tough competition to Ring Slim. 

Circular’s ring is becoming better with each iteration, the upgraded hardware and improved app for sports and performance tracking offer a comprehensive overview of your physical exertion and progress. 

Let’s start with the design, the new Ring Slim features a very similar design to its predecessor but with a more durable build, measures 2.5mm thick, and weighs just 2 grams, making it the thinnest and lightest smart ring available on the market. It has a scratch-resistant coating, protecting it from accidental scratches. Circular also integrated a full IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. 

The Ring Slim has advanced health-tracking features such as heart rate monitoring, enhanced sleep tracking, SpO2, temperature, and breathing rate monitoring. Circular claims that the new algorithm delivers a 79% accuracy against Polysomnography tests. The new heart-tracking algorithm now also provides real-time metrics during sports activities. This new feature is coupled with GPS tracking for routes, offering a detailed overview of the tracked health data.

Circular also packed an Advanced Analysis Circle feature to the Ring Slim, which allows users to compare all their health and wellness data in a single, intuitive graph. This powerful feature will help users identify trends, monitor improvements, and make informed decisions about their health journey, according to Circular.

Realme finally making a comeback of its signature GT series smartphones to global markets by launching an all-new flagship GT 6 smartphone. To recall, Realme launched the GT 6T a budget-friendly smartphone in the last month. Today, the company finally took the wraps off the new member of the GT 6 series – the Realme GT 6. Let’s take a look at the detailed specs and availability.

Let’s start with the display, Realme GT 6 features a 6.78-inch 2780 x 1264px AMOLED Hyper display with 120Hz refresh rate support, ensuring a buttery smooth scrolling experience. The phone has a massive 6000 nits of peak brightness, which the company says is the brightest display on a phone yet. It has a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection top, protecting it from accidental falls and scratches.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor (which is a slightly weaker version of the original Snapdragon 8 gen 3 SoC) coupled with Adreno 715 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. Realme also packed cool AI features into the GT 6 which Realme calls it NextAI. The NextAI brings a lot of new cool features including AI smart object remover, AI night vision for video, AI smart loop, and more.

The GT 6 boasts a large 5,500mAh battery with 120W rapid charging support. Realme claims the device can charge 0 to 50% in just 10 min and 100% in 26 min. Unfortunately, the device won’t get a wireless charging support.

For cameras, the phone has a triple rear camera setup at the back. The 50MP main camera is paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens. There is a 32MP shooter on the front for capturing stunning selfies and video chats.

Realme GT 6 is priced at ­€600 ($645 / Rs 40,999) for the base 8GB/256GB storage, while the 12GB/256GB variant starts at €700 ($750/ Rs 42,999), and the high-end 16GB/512GB variant retails at €800 ($858 / Rs44,999). The GT 6 is now available for purchase in Europe and India markets.

HONOR has launched its brand new HONOR Magic V Flip fashionable foldable smartphone at a technology fashion show in China. A fashion-oriented foldable smartphone also offers flagship features, making it the most gorgeous yet powerful foldable smartphone. 

One of the biggest highlights of the Magic V Flip smartphone is the external screen. The flip smartphone features the largest external screen, measuring 4 inches. Speaking of dimensions, the phone is very thin at 7.15mm when unfolded and 14.89mm when folded. It weighs just 193 grams. 

It has a stunning 6.8-inch LTPO OLED main display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 85% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. However, the processor used in the Magic V Flip is a bit old (launched back in 2022) but it is still powerful in 2024. It runs on Android 14 operating system with typical HONOR’s foldable UI out of the box. 

For lenses, HONOR packs a dual rear camera setup to the Magic V Flip smartphone. The primary 50MP camera is paired with a 12MP ultrawide lens. There is a 50MP selfie shooter at the front for capturing stunning photos and videos. It has a massive 4,800mAh battery under the hood, with 66W fast charging support. Unfortunately, the device lacks wireless charging. 

The Magic V Flip comes in three beautiful color options including Black, White, and Pink. These are not normal colors, though. You get a very unique pattern with each color. There is also a special edition that is Green and Glittery, which looks mesmerizing. HONOR also offers optional accessories for the device which turns a phone into a watch, bag, etc. 

The HONOR Magic V Flip retails at CNY 4,999 (~$689) for the base 12GB/256GB variant, the 12GB/512GB variant costs CNY 5,499 (~$758), and the high-end 12GB/1TB variant starts at CNY 5,999 (~$827). The HONOR Magic V Flip Haute Couture Edition is priced at CNY 6,999 (~$965). 

Speaking of availability, the Magic V Flip is now available in China. There’s no confirmation on the international availability.
