The popular drone maker, DJI has unveiled its most affordable drone at IFA Berlin – the DJI Neo. Coming at just a $199 price tag, the DJI Neo can do almost everything the $350 HoverAir X1 can and so much more. DJI packed some of its advanced drone capabilities in the Neo, making it just a perfect drone for the price point. 

The DJI Neo is geared toward the vlogger, content creator, or anyone who wants an easy-to-use drone. This is the DJI’s most compact and lightest drone to date, weighing a mere 135 grams. The Neo seamlessly works via voice commands or you can simply connect it to your smartphone via the DJI Fly app and use the virtual joysticks up to a distance of 50 meters. Alternatively, you can also connect the DJI’s other drone accessories such as DJI Goggles 3, RC Motion 3, FPV Remote Controller 3, and DJI RC-N3 which increases the recording distance of the Neo to 10 km. 

One of the interesting things is that the Neo comes with a return to home feature (RTH) feature, a similar feature found on the DJI’s high-end drones. DJI claims that the Neo will automatically return to the user’s palm once the shooting is completed. 

The DJI Neo is equipped with a 12MP ½ image sensor, capable of capturing ultra-stabilised videos in up to 4k resolution at 30 frames per second. It has 22GB of internal storage and will easily store 40 minutes of high-resolution footage. You can easily transfer all the recorded videos to your phone via WiFi without the need for any cables. Unlike other DJI drones with a 6-axis gimbal, the Neo ships with a single-axis gimbal for stabilizing up/down motion only. However, this will surely affect the overall shot quality. 

DJI’s Neo uses an AI object tracking feature to track the subject and keep them in focus, even during activities such as hiking, or cycling. Unfortunately, the drone doesn’t support obstacle avoidance, which is slightly disappointing. 

On the positive side, you get a QuickShots feature which allows you to capture the shot with six different fly patterns: Circle, Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Spotlight, and Boomerang. The Neo has a very short flight time of up to 18 minutes. However, you can extend the flight time with two extra batteries that come with a combo model.

The standard HaloLock Wallet Stand is no slouch, even with the omission ESR added into the Geo variant. The Wallet Stand has HaloLock magnets to take advantage of the MagSafe protocol, can hold your personal ID, and up to two other payment cards.

I have found the HaloLock Wallet Stand to be the perfect going out to drinks wallet. Sometimes a nicer dinner requires dress pants or slacks, and I prefer to minimize my pocket accessories as much as possible. Having the combo of my phone and only my essential cards in a single setup is fantastic.

I have my ID for adult beverages and my two go-to payment options, and they simply snap onto my phone. I’m never to leave home without anyway. Speaking of, the magnetic connection of the HaloLock Wallet Stand is very strong, and I never once felt like the wallet was in jeopardy of falling off my iPhone.

Lastly, as the name implies, there’s the additional thoughtfulness that the hinge mechanism is also strong enough for the HaloLock Wallet Stand to prop up your phone. If you love everything about the HaloLock Wallet Stand but want some added piece of mind while traveling, then the Geo Wallet Stand variant is just what you are looking for. With a slight redesign of the front pocket and the addition of Apple Find My Device functionality, the Geo Wallet Stand knocks this out of the park.

You get the same amount of card storage, but you lose the dedicated ID slot. Your license for the next time you’re buying Daddy sodas will just need to take up a generic slot in the single cardholder on the front of the Geo Wallet Stand. This location has a nice, leather slide mechanism to “eject” the cards for easy access and sorting. The slide can be used as a holding loop as well.

Why only the one card slot for all three cards? That precious real estate was needed for the Find My Device hardware and internal battery. I love having the tracking ability built into a wallet. While I’ve never personally lost mine, it’s always been the dreaded scenario in my nightmares.

Adding the HaloLock Geo Wallet Stand to your Apple app is just like any accessory. If you’ve set up the AirTag, then this is a breeze. You double click the sync area on the inside of the wallet and you are pretty much good to go. You can give is a custom name and icon, after which, it shows in your Items tab the Find My application.

Battery life isn’t an issue either. The Geo Wallet Stand is rated for three months on a single charge and takes a little over an hour to fully fill the battery. The Find My Device app will also notify you when your battery is in need of refueling as well.

Lastly, we have the latest entry to the ESR Gear wallet lineup. The newly launched Kickstarter for the ESR Geo Wallet is now live with estimated shipping to backers in September 2024. We’ve gotten an early look, and the world’s first bi-fold wallet with Find My Device support won’t disappoint.
