Pokémon GO Introduces Super Mega Raids and a New “Super Max” Level at GO Tour: Kalos

0

Pokémon GO is expanding its Mega Evolution system in a major way during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos, introducing a new raid format, a fresh Mega Level tier, and additional ways for Trainers to power up their favorite Pokémon.

The update begins with in-person GO Tour events in Tainan and Los Angeles, followed by a global rollout during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global on February 28 and March 1, 2026.

Super Mega Raids Debut

The headline feature is the arrival of Super Mega Raids, a new type of Mega Raid built around large-group coordination. These encounters are designed for at least eight Trainers and feature exceptionally powerful Mega-Evolved Pokémon. Some Legendary Pokémon may require even more participants.

Super Mega Raids introduce new battle mechanics. Opposing Mega-Evolved Pokémon can become enraged and deploy shields that reduce incoming damage. Each Trainer can break one shield, encouraging teamwork rather than solo carry strategies. When shields activate, a Mega-Evolved Pokémon from a Trainer’s party will automatically enter battle if one is not already active, and its next attack receives a substantial boost to help crack those defenses.

There are limitations. Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Ditto transformed into a Mega-Evolved Pokémon cannot break shields in these raids.

Successful completion yields more rewards than standard Mega Raids, including increased Mega Energy. During GO Tour: Kalos, players will see added bonuses such as an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon from Super Mega Raids and higher likelihoods of strong Attack, Defense, and HP stats on caught Pokémon.

Mega Victreebel and Mega Malamar will headline these raids during the event, and both can be raised to the new Super Max Mega Level at launch.

Introducing Link Charges

Access to Mega Raids, including Super Mega Raids, will now require a new resource called Link Charges. Trainers collect and store them in a new key item known as the Link Holder, which is automatically added to the Item Bag upon collecting the first Link Charges.

A futuristic device with a circular cutout and a screen, featured prominently in a colorful background, associated with the Pokémon GO Tour 2026 event.

Link Charges can be earned through weekly challenges, opening Gifts from friends, and checking in to select community meetups via Campfire. They will be available for purchase in the in-game shop and the Pokémon GO Web Store.

For in-person Mega Raids, Trainers may use either Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass. Remote participation in Super Mega Raids requires both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges. Standard remote Mega Raids will continue to require only a Remote Raid Pass.

During GO Tour: Kalos, Trainers can earn additional Link Charges through GO Pass rewards, weekly raid-focused challenges, and daily Campfire check-ins during the global event window. For a limited time, certain rewards will allow Trainers to exceed the usual Link Charge storage cap.

A New Mega Level: Super Max

Mega Evolution is gaining a fourth tier. Previously capped at three levels, Mega Levels can now reach Super Max.

Reaching Super Max requires more than repeated Mega Evolutions. Trainers must use Mega Energy to power up a Pokémon beyond the existing Max level. Once achieved, Super Max provides expanded benefits, including:

  • Greatly enhanced CP
  • Increased Catch Candy, Catch XP, and Candy XL chance for Pokémon sharing a type with the Mega-Evolved Pokémon
  • A reduced rest period before Mega Evolution without Mega Energy, dropping to 24 hours

Only Pokémon that have already reached the third Mega Level can progress to Super Max. Niantic notes that eligibility for Super Max will expand over time.

Looking ahead, a future update will allow Trainers to use Mega Energy to increase Mega Levels more quickly. The required Mega Energy will decrease the more frequently a Pokémon has Mega Evolved, rewarding long-term use.

A Broader Push Toward Community Play

Super Mega Raids lean heavily into coordinated, in-person gameplay. A new web-based map will help Trainers locate Gyms, Power Spots, and meetups, filter event types, and plan ahead. Individual raid links can be shared directly, making it easier to assemble a team.

The message is clear: Mega Evolution is shifting from a solo power-up mechanic to a community-driven challenge.

Trainers can expect more details as Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos approaches. Additional information is available on the official Pokémon GO blog.

Google Introduces Pixel 10a with Tensor G4, AI Features, and a $499 Price Tag

0

Google has announced the new Pixel 10a, continuing its A-series tradition of bringing junior flagship and flagship-adjacent features to a more accessible price. Starting at $499, the new device combines Google’s latest AI tools, a refreshed design, and what the company calls its best camera experience under $500.

Pre-orders are open now, with availability beginning March 5 through the Google Store and major carriers.

A Refined Design with Sustainability in Focus

The Pixel 10a introduces a smooth, flat-back design, with a camera bar that blends directly into the rear panel. The result is a phone that sits flush on a desk and slides cleanly into a pocket without the familiar wobble of raised camera modules.

Durability receives attention this year. The device carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and features upgraded Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on its display for improved scratch and drop protection. It is positioned as the most durable A-series phone to date.

Sustainability plays a larger role in this generation. Pixel 10a uses more recycled materials than any previous A-series model, including recycled cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten for the first time. The satin-finish frame is made from 100% recycled aluminum, and the back cover consists of 81% recycled plastic.

The 6.3-inch Actua display is 11% brighter than the Pixel 9a, improving visibility in direct sunlight. Color options include Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian, offering a mix of subtle and bold finishes. Matching cases will be available in the same hues for those who prefer a coordinated look.

Three smartphones displaying parental control features. The left phone shows a setup screen asking for whom the phone is being set up. The center phone features a map with locations of children and a list of family members. The right phone indicates that 'School time is active' with options to manage app access.

Longer Battery Life and Extended Support

Battery performance remains a core focus. Google rates the Pixel 10a for more than 30 hours of battery life, extending up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver enabled. Charging speeds are faster than on the Pixel 9a.

The phone ships with seven years of operating system updates, security patches, and Pixel Drops, placing it among the longest-supported devices in its price range. Google is bringing Satellite SOS to the A-series for the first time, allowing users to contact emergency services when Wi-Fi or cellular coverage is unavailable.

A 48MP Camera with New AI Tools

Google states that Pixel 10a offers the best camera under $500. It features a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens. The company notes that its A-series devices have led the segment in camera performance for five consecutive generations.

Features include Macro Focus for detailed close-up shots and Night Sight for improved low-light photography.

Several AI-driven tools debut on the A-series lineup:

  • Auto Best Take, which analyzes multiple frames from a group photo to create a single optimized image.
  • Camera Coach, powered by Gemini models, offering step-by-step guidance on lighting and composition.
  • Add Me, now expanded to support both small and large group photos, allowing the photographer to insert themselves into the final image.

Editing capabilities are integrated through Google Photos, where users can type or speak changes and apply AI-assisted adjustments directly on the device.

Under the hood, Pixel 10a runs on Google’s custom Tensor G4 chip. The processor supports Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, which enables features like Gemini Live for natural, conversational interactions.

Users can experiment with creative tools such as Nano Banana, which allows reimagining photos, blending images, and applying different visual styles. Other AI features include Circle to Search for on-screen lookups, along with Dialer tools like Call Screen and Hold For Me to manage unwanted calls and long wait times.

Availability

The Pixel 10a starts at $499 and will be available beginning March 5 through the Google Store and participating carriers. Matching accessories, including new color options for Pixel Buds 2a in Berry and Fog, are launching alongside the phone.

It supports hundreds of established titles—such as Temple Run, PAC-MAN, and Crossy Road—without requiring developers to modify the original code.

Furthermore, the hardware offers native support for the rhythm gaming community, maintaining full compatibility with legacy titles like Dance Dance Revolution and modern simulators including StepMania and Outfox.

Redefining the Gaming and Exercise Paradigm

“Our objective with GAMR was to dismantle the barrier between ‘gaming’ and ‘exercise,'” said Vinod Ajjarapu, CEO of GameX Studios. “We are introducing a philosophy where movement is instinctive rather than a chore. By evolving the arcade-style experiences of the past into a wireless, home-integrated platform, we are making a healthy, active lifestyle accessible.”

The GAMR ecosystem is built for portability and endurance, catering to single-player challenges and family-oriented multiplayer sessions alike.

Suunto Celebrates 90 Years With Limited Edition Vertical 2

0

Suunto’s storied journey began in 1936 when Finnish inventor Tuomas Vohlonen sought to create a more accurate and stable compass for the harsh Nordic wilderness. His solution, a liquid-filled field compass, laid the foundation for a brand defined by precision, Finnish craftsmanship, and a deep respect for nature. After Vohlonen’s passing in 1939, his wife, Elli Vohlonen, championed these values, guiding the company through its formative years and cementing the legacy of innovation Suunto carries today.

For nine decades, Suunto has repeatedly redefined outdoor technology. From the Spyder in 1997, the world’s first watch-sized dive computer, to the 1998 launch of the Suunto Vector, which created the “ABC watch” category (altimeter, barometer, and compass), the brand has been a trusted companion for explorers reaching the world’s highest peaks and deepest oceans.

To honor this incredible history, Suunto is launching the Suunto Vertical 2 Titanium Limited Edition on March 10th, 2026. This special release is limited to exactly 1,936 pieces, directly commemorating the year the company was founded. The watch pays homage to the legendary Suunto Vector with an iconic yellow-and-black design and a custom watch face inspired by the original mountain icon.

Priced at $799.00, this anniversary edition blends heritage with Suunto’s most advanced adventure technology. True to the brand’s commitment to the environment, the lifetime climate emissions for each watch are calculated and offset via mangrove forest restoration projects. As Suunto looks toward its next 90 years, it remains dedicated to sustainable design and fostering a global, inclusive outdoor community.

How to Use Chrome Extensions on Mobile? Explained

0

Google Chrome dominates the desktop browsing market for various reasons, and its extension library is one of them. However, Chrome for Android doesn’t offer the same level of luxury, yet, leaving avid users without their favourite password managers and ad blockers.

There is good news, though, since you can use Chrome extensions on mobile. A handful of Chromium-based browsers have quietly added support for the Chrome Web Store, and here’s how you can make it work.

How do I use Chrome extensions on my Android?

Blue circular icon featuring a white puzzle piece in the center, representing problem-solving or complexity.

The simplest way to use Chrome extensions on Android is to install Kiwi Browser. It’s a Chromium-based app that supports Chrome extensions natively.

  • Download the Kiwi from the Play Store
  • Open the three-dot menu
  • Navigate to Extensions
  • Toggle on Developer Mode
  • Visit the Chrome Web Store directly in your browser
  • Search for the extension you want, and tap “Add to Chrome.”

You can also follow a similar route with Mozilla Firefox, which also supports extensions on mobile. An alternative is to use experimental desktop builds of Chrome for Android.

To use the alternative method, you can:

  • Download the latest “chrome-android-desktop.zip” file from Google’s download page.
    • Scroll down until you reach the highest number, then click it to find the “.zip” file.
  • Extract the zip file and locate “ChromePublic.apk” inside the chrome-android-desktop > apks folder.
  • Install the APK using Android’s Package Installer.
  • Launch the app.
    • If you’re on a phone, go to Settings > Developer Options > Smallest Width and change it to “600” so the Chrome Web Store recognizes your device as a desktop.
  • Once the desktop Chrome is installed, you can navigate to the Chrome Web Store and install extensions directly.

The alternative may look like a Google Chrome trick for Android right now, but it also suggests that Google may have plans to introduce extension support later on.

FAQs

Why can’t I use extensions on Chrome mobile?

You can’t officially use extensions on Chrome mobile because Google hasn’t officially enabled extension support on Chrome for Android, yet. There are alternative methods that involve installing other browsers with extension support and installing a desktop variant of Chrome on Android devices; both are detailed above.

Most users hope that Google eventually introduces extension support to the Chrome app on mobile since extensions play a key role in power users’ browsing habits. These things can take time, though, much like how the shift toward app-based payment on Android became dominant slowly, but surely. This transition paved the way for easier payment solutions, which are currently present in the likes of Google Play betting apps.

Do Chrome extensions work in Android?

Chrome extensions don’t work on the official Chrome app on Android. However, they work in Chromium-based browsers such as Kiwi Browser and Yandex Browser, as well as in experimental Chrome desktop builds.

Kwikset Peralta Handleset: Modern Style Meets 2-Point Locking Security

0

Kwikset, a prominent provider of residential security solutions and a division of the ASSA ABLOY Group, has officially announced the release of the Peralta 2-point locking handleset. This latest addition introduces a contemporary aesthetic to the company’s dual-lock collection, providing a modern alternative to the established Montara handleset.

With the inclusion of the Peralta, Kwikset now offers a broader range of front-door hardware that balances architectural preference with reinforced security.

Modern Design Meets Enhanced Security

The Peralta handleset is characterized by a minimalist, clean-lined profile tailored for modern residential architecture. Beyond its visual appeal, the unit utilizes a 2-point locking mechanism—securing the door at both the deadbolt and the grip.

To address evolving security threats, the Peralta integrates Kwikset’s proprietary SmartKey Security technology. This feature is engineered to protect against sophisticated forced-entry methods while providing homeowners the utility to re-key their own locks efficiently. The model is currently available in three finishes:

  • Satin Nickel
  • Matte Black
  • Satin Brass

Traditional Alternatives and Versatile Installation

While the Peralta targets modern tastes, the Montara handleset remains the primary option for traditional aesthetics, featuring beveled accents and a classic silhouette. The Montara is offered in Satin Nickel, Venetian Bronze, and Polished Brass.

Both the Peralta and Montara systems are designed for universal compatibility with standard door preparations. Key technical specifications include:

  • Ease of Installation: Both units require only a standard screwdriver for setup.
  • Adjustability: Peralta features a fully adjustable throughbolt, while Montara utilizes a 3-position bolt system to ensure a proper fit.
  • Hardware Configuration: Each set includes a keyed deadbolt, a keyed grip, an interior turn piece, and a choice of a knob or lever.

Commitment to Performance and Availability

“The introduction of Peralta provides a contemporary solution that reflects current architectural trends,” stated Amanda Archer, Group Manager of Product Marketing at Kwikset. Archer emphasized that the expansion ensures homeowners do not have to compromise between aesthetic integrity and high-level protection.

Kwikset stands behind the durability of these products with a lifetime warranty covering both mechanical components and finishes. The Peralta and Montara handlesets are now available at major retailers, including The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon, with MSRPs starting at $165.
