Zotac enters the gaming handheld arena with the launch of its latest the Zone gaming handheld. The gaming handheld was announced at Computex 2024 in June and now it hits the market with an enticing price tag. Zotac’s Zone gaming handheld directly competes with the likes of the recently launched Lenovo Legion GO, MSI Claw, Asus ROG Ally X, and Steam Deck.
Zotac incorporated an impressive set of features in its first gaming handheld, making it a worthy contender compared to the current market rulers. Let’s take a quick look at the detailed specs and pricing.
Zotac Zone is powered by AMD Ryzen 7 8840U chipset based on Zen 4 architecture paired with RDNA 3 graphics chip, 16GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, and 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD. The powerful hardware smoothly runs all your AAA titles without any hiccups. It also has a UHS-II microSD card slot to further expand the storage.Â

The Zotac Zone has a stunning 7-inch FHD AMOLED display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate support and up to 800 nits of peak brightness, ensuring smooth visuals and crystal clear details. It comes with two trackpads similar to the Steam Deck, which makes the mouse movements easy and further enhances the gaming experience, especially in mouse-heavy PC titles. The Zotac Zone has an edge here over Asus’s ROG Ally high-end gaming handheld, featuring a bright AMOLED panel and maximum brightness rating.Â

The gaming handheld ships with Hall-Effect triggers and analog sticks which enhance precision and prevent drifting from wear and tear. Other features of the Zotac Zone include a front-facing camera, 2x USB 4 ports, a user-friendly design, a fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, 2-stage adjustable triggers, and Rapid mode.
The Zotac Zone is now available for pre-order and retails at $799, the same as its immediate rival Asus ROG Ally X. For more details head to the Zotac’s official website.
