Vantrue E1 Pro S Dash Cam Brings True 4K Video, One-Second Startup, and Extended Parking Protection

Vantrue recently announced the E1 Pro S, a compact 4K dash cam designed to capture detailed footage on the road and monitor vehicles while parked. The latest addition to the company’s E-Series lineup combines a Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and a new rapid-start recording system in a discreet design that won’t take up much windshield space.

The E1 Pro S is aimed at commuters, frequent travelers, and drivers who want reliable video evidence without installing a bulky camera system.

Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor Delivers True 4K Recording

At the center of the Vantrue E1 Pro S is an 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor capable of recording 4K (3840 Ɨ 2160) video at 30 frames per second with HDR.

A dual-core processor and fourth-generation image signal processor (ISP) work together to improve color reproduction, exposure balance, and detail retention in challenging lighting conditions.

Vantrue’s PlatePix 2.0 processing technology is designed to make license plates and other important details easier to identify. An included circular polarizing filter helps reduce windshield reflections and glare, particularly when driving in bright sunlight.

TurboBoot Starts Recording in About One Second

One of the E1 Pro S’s more practical features is TurboBoot, which allows the camera to begin recording approximately one second after powering on.

That quick response carries over to parking protection. When the camera detects a collision while in deep standby, it can wake and begin recording in roughly one second.

Vantrue has paid particular attention to power consumption, with a low-power standby mode drawing approximately 0.4W. The company claims the camera can remain in parking standby for up to six months when paired with a compatible hardwire kit or dedicated parking power supply.

Drivers can choose between impact-triggered recording, buffered motion detection, low-bitrate recording, and low-frame-rate recording. These options provide different levels of monitoring depending on where the vehicle is parked and how much power is available.

Wi-Fi 6 and Everyday Convenience

The Vantrue E1 Pro S supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6, with claimed transfer speeds reaching 30 MB/s. Drivers can preview, download, and share footage through the Vantrue app for Android and iOS.

Other features include a 1.54-inch IPS display, GPS and BeiDou positioning, microSD storage support up to 1TB, and voice commands in five languages. The camera uses a supercapacitor rather than a traditional battery and supports OTA firmware updates.

Compatibility with 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems makes the E1 Pro S suitable for various passenger and commercial vehicles.

Pricing and Availability

The E1 Pro S is available immediately for $119.99 on Vantrue’s website.
