On-device AI distinguishes pets from people, so you get real-time alerts whether your dog is in the yard or a cat is near the door, and the processing happens locally, which means faster alerts and no cloud dependency for basic detection. The system can also detect vehicles, extending visibility beyond traditional PIR sensors up to 60 feet.

The built-in 10,000mAh battery lasts up to three months on a single charge under standard use, and the solar panel recharges with as little as 90 minutes of direct sun. The camera supports 24/7 continuous recording even without DC power, Tapo capturing frames at customizable intervals between 1 and 60 seconds, so there’s no gap between motion events.
