TP-Link Tapo C675D Kit Packs Two 4K Cameras into One Solar-Powered Outdoor Unit

Most outdoor security cameras force a choice: wide coverage or zoomed-in detail. TP-Link’s latest Tapo release skips that trade-off entirely.

The Tapo C675D Kit combines two 4K lenses in a single device — a 169° ultra-wide lens for full-scene coverage and a 360° pan/tilt telephoto lens for precision tracking. The idea is that you get the full picture and the close-up shot simultaneously, without mounting multiple cameras around the property.

Two Lenses, One Story

When the fixed wide-angle lens detects a person, the pan/tilt lens seamlessly tracks their movement, ensuring no detail is missed. Both lenses shoot in 4K 8MP, so whether you’re looking at the full yard or a face at the gate, the footage holds up. Both lenses also support 18x digital zoom, and tap-to-zoom lets you instantly focus on any area of the frame.

Two security cameras mounted on the corner of a house, with a flowering plant and a cloudy sky in the background.

For AI detection, Tapo keeps things subscription-free. On-device AI distinguishes pets from people, so you get real-time alerts whether your dog is in the yard or a cat is near the door, and the processing happens locally, which means faster alerts and no cloud dependency for basic detection. The system can also detect vehicles, extending visibility beyond traditional PIR sensors up to 60 feet.

Solar-Powered with a Serious Battery

The wireless setup is where the C675D Kit earns points for convenience. The built-in 10,000mAh battery lasts up to three months on a single charge under standard use, and the solar panel recharges with as little as 90 minutes of direct sun. No outlet required, no ongoing battery swaps. For areas with spotty sun, there’s also a USB charging option.

The camera supports 24/7 continuous recording even without DC power, Tapo capturing frames at customizable intervals between 1 and 60 seconds, so there’s no gap between motion events.

When alarm mode is active, detected activity triggers red-and-blue flashing lights and a built-in siren to deter intruders, while sending an instant notification to your phone. Custom activity zones let you narrow down where alerts fire from, cutting down on noise from busy streets or neighbor activity.
