T-Mobile announced via Twitter that it would be bringing the world its first 4G Honeycomb tablet. Dubbed the G-Slate, this LG tablet was set to run Android 3.0 and be equipped with HSPA+ connectivity on T-Mobile’s network.
The announcement came during CES 2011. The G-Slate would be among the first tablets to fully benefit from the Android 3.0 platform, optimized from the ground up for larger screen sizes. The Honeycomb experience improved on Android favorites including widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications, and customization. It would also feature Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction, access to more than 3 million eBooks, and Google Talk with video and voice chat.
Additional product details, including pricing and an exact release date, were to be disclosed at a later date.
