TECNO has introduced the POVA Curve 2 5G, the latest entry in its performance-focused POVA smartphone lineup. The new model centers on a simple idea: deliver one of the largest batteries in its category without turning the phone into a brick. At just 7.42mm thick and weighing 195 grams, the device houses an 8000mAh battery, the largest in the POVA series to date.

TECNO leans into its signature futuristic styling with the POVA Curve 2 5G. Inspired by interstellar design cues, the handset features a curved AMOLED display that gives the device a modern profile and immersive viewing experience. The curved panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, gaming, and video playback.
Despite its substantial battery, the phone maintains a compact feel. TECNO positions it among the slimmest smartphones in its class with an 8000mAh battery, underscoring the company’s goal of delivering more power without adding noticeable bulk.
The device arrives in three finishes: Melting Silver, Storm Titanium, and Mystic Purple. Protection features include IP64 dust and water resistance, SGS-certified 1.5-meter drop protection, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. These additions signal that the phone is built for everyday durability, not just spec-sheet bragging rights.

At the core of the POVA Curve 2 5G is its 8000mAh high-density battery, which TECNO notes is 2500mAh larger than the previous generation. The increase targets users who stream, game, travel, and multitask throughout the day without wanting to hunt for an outlet.
Charging is handled by 45W fast charging, along with bypass charging technology designed to manage heat during extended gaming sessions and protect long-term battery health. The device carries TÜV SÜD certification for long battery life and is engineered to operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, aimed at delivering stable performance for daily tasks, streaming, and gaming. TECNO complements this with dual-signal enhancement chipsets to strengthen cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity in weak or crowded environments.
One standout feature is support for offline voice, text, and image communication up to 1.5 kilometers in open areas. For users in remote locations or during network outages, that capability could prove useful.
HiOS 16 Brings System-Level AI Features
The POVA Curve 2 5G runs on TECNO’s HiOS 16, which integrates AI tools designed to streamline everyday interactions. Features include content summarization, writing assistance, background noise reduction during calls, and automatic photo enhancement.
TECNO has included tools such as One-tap FlashMemo, which captures and summarizes on-screen information instantly, and Mind Hub, a centralized space for organizing AI-generated notes and insights. The device is part of TECNO’s broader AI ecosystem, with the Ella Assistant supporting more natural interactions across apps and tasks.
Regionally relevant functions are built in as well, including AI-powered Muslim prayer reminders tailored to specific markets.
Built with Longevity in Mind
TECNO states that the POVA Curve 2 5G will receive two major Android OS upgrades. The company frames the device as a long-term companion, focusing on sustained performance and battery durability over time.
Availability
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G will be available in India in February 2026. Pricing and detailed specifications will be announced at launch. Following its release, the device will be showcased at MWC 2026, where attendees can get a closer look at its slim design and battery-focused engineering.
