Victrola, a well-known leader in home audio products, has announced its latest innovation: the Victrola Stream Sapphire turntable. Unveiled at the 2024 Audio Advice Live event, this flagship model brings advanced wireless streaming capabilities to vinyl enthusiasts, integrating seamlessly with Sonos and UPnP-enabled speakers. The new model supports lossless FLAC audio streaming up to 24-bit/48kHz, promising a high-fidelity listening experience.
The Stream Sapphire is designed to simplify the process of wirelessly connecting vinyl playback to a user’s preferred speaker system. Using the Victrola Stream app, owners of Sonos speakers and other compatible Wi-Fi devices can easily set up their systems to enjoy wireless vinyl playback without needing any additional equipment.
Victrola has equipped the Stream Sapphire with several design features aimed at enhancing sound quality. The turntable boasts a low-resonance MDF plinth, adorned with a real walnut veneer and aluminum accents. It sits on height-adjustable, sound-dampening feet for optimal leveling and isolation.
The turntable’s motor is a two-speed, brushless servo-controlled unit that ensures quiet, consistent speed control. The setup includes a pre-installed Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, a removable headshell, and a carbon-fiber tonearm designed with precision gimbal bearings to minimize distortion and maximize sound detail and dynamic range.
The turntable also features the distinctive Stream illuminated control knob for intuitive control over volume and playback directly from the unit. Additional connectivity options include a built-in pre-amp and gold-plated RCA outputs, allowing for integration with both traditional component audio systems and modern powered speakers.
Availability
The Victrola Stream Sapphire is available for pre-order at specialty audio retailers Audio Advice and Crutchfield. It will be available on Victrola’s website and through select custom installation dealers starting mid-August, with a suggested retail price of $1,299. UK customers can expect availability starting October 1, 2024.
