Shokz Launches OpenFit 2+ with Dolby Audio, Wireless Charging, and More

Shokz, the audio company best known for its open-ear technology, is introducing its latest model, the OpenFit 2+, set to launch Monday, September 22. The new release builds on the comfort-first design that Shokz has become known for, while introducing several firsts for the brand, including wireless charging and Dolby Audio support.

Dolby Audio and DualBoost Technology

The headline addition to the OpenFit 2+ is Dolby Audio, which aims to deliver more detailed sound with improved clarity, volume, and consistency. Partnered with Shokz’s DualBoost Technology, the headphones are tuned for a more dynamic listening experience across different devices and environments.

For users who often find open-ear headphones a bit lacking in punch, this pairing should go a long way in improving everyday listening, from podcasts on a commute to playlists during a workout.

Wireless Charging and Extended Battery Life

Another notable upgrade is the addition of wireless charging support,a first for the OpenFit line. Instead of fumbling with cables, users can place the case on a compatible wireless charging pad and power up. Shokz says the OpenFit 2+ can deliver up to 48 hours of total listening time when factoring in case recharges, giving it endurance well beyond a single busy week.

Designed for Comfort and Stability

Comfort has always been central to Shokz’s open-ear lineup, and the OpenFit 2+ takes a step forward with a new silicone layer designed to stay soft during all-day wear. Whether used at a desk, on a long flight, or during a run, the headphones aim to remain comfortable without shifting out of place.

Shokz has also redesigned the ear hook, adding more flexibility for a personalized fit. This tweak is meant to keep the headphones stable during higher-intensity movement, reducing the chances of constant readjustment mid-workout.

Clearer Calls and Faster Connectivity

Beyond music playback, the OpenFit 2+ introduces AI-powered noise cancellation for calls. The system uses algorithms to filter out background distractions, like traffic, gym equipment, or chatty coworkers, so voices come through clearly on the other end.

Connectivity is also getting a boost with Bluetooth 5.4, promising quicker pairing and stronger stability compared to earlier versions. For anyone who’s dealt with the occasional audio hiccup or delayed connection, this upgrade should be a welcome quality-of-life improvement.
