Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Announced: Dates, Locations, and Volcanion’s Debut

Trainers, it’s time to mark your calendars as Pokémon GO Fest 2025 is officially on the horizon. Niantic has unveiled details for this year’s festivities, featuring three in-person events followed by a global celebration. Alongside exclusive encounters, special research opportunities, and regional perks, this year’s event welcomes Volcanion to Pokémon GO for the first time.

Volcanion Makes Its Pokémon GO Debut

The elusive Steam Pokémon, Volcanion, is finally making its grand entrance. Ticket-holding Trainers will be able to complete exclusive Special Research that leads to an encounter with Volcanion. However, even if you attend multiple GO Fest events, you’ll only be able to catch it once—additional Special Research stories will instead reward Volcanion Candy.

Where to Experience Pokémon GO Fest 2025 In-Person

For those who enjoy catching Pokémon alongside fellow Trainers, Niantic is hosting three major in-person events across the globe:

  • Osaka, Japan (May 29 – June 1, 2025): Set in the scenic Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, this location offers a mix of lush gardens and historic sights. Osaka’s famed street food scene and the iconic Osaka Castle make it a prime destination for visiting Trainers.
  • Jersey City, New Jersey, USA (June 6–8, 2025): Liberty State Park will serve as the hub for North American Trainers, offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
  • Paris, France (June 13–15, 2025): Parc de Sceaux, located just outside Paris, sets the stage for a uniquely French Pokémon adventure. Expect a blend of history, nature, and vibrant city culture.

A Global Adventure: Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global

If an in-person event isn’t in the cards, fear not—Trainers worldwide can join in the action during Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global on June 28 and 29, 2025. This online event lets players experience special gameplay no matter where they are. Tickets for the global event will be available in the in-game shop, with no risk of selling out.

Early Purchase Perks & Exclusive Encounters

  • Trainers who buy their global event ticket by April 15, 2025, and play during the pre-event window (April 8–15) will receive Timed Research granting an encounter with Skiddo.
  • Attendees of in-person events will get first access to Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta, adding another layer of exclusivity to this year’s GO Fest.

Official Merch & Limited-Edition Items

For those looking to commemorate the event, Niantic is offering a special Pokémon GO Fest 2025 merchandise collection—but only through preorders. Available exclusively at in-person events, these items must be picked up on-site. Special edition backpacks featuring Pikachu, Gengar, or Wobbuffet will also be available in Jersey City and Paris, each coming with a matching in-game avatar item.

Tickets & Add-Ons

Tickets for in-person events start at the following prices:

  • Osaka: ¥3,600 (Early bird: ¥3,100)
  • Jersey City: $30 (Early bird: $25)
  • Paris: €27 (Early bird: €22)

For those looking to maximize their experience, ticket add-ons will be available, including bonuses like additional Raid Passes, reduced Egg Hatch distances, and extended citywide gameplay.

Plan Your GO Fest Adventure

Trainers can choose between a Morning Park Experience or an Afternoon Park Experience, ensuring everyone gets a chance to enjoy both city and park-based gameplay. Be sure to check ticket availability early—these events tend to sell out quickly.
