Poco launches its first tablet with snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, and a large 12.1” 120Hz display

The affordable gaming smartphone maker Poco has officially unveiled its first Poco Pad 5G tablet in India. Poco’s new budget-range tablet comes with impressive features and striking design. Infinix’s newly launched XPad and Redmi’s Pad Pro 5G are sure to challenge its dominance. 

Poco went with Qualcomm for its first Pad 5G tablet. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset based on 4nm architecture paired with Adreno 710 GPU effortlessly handles multitasking and gaming-sided things. It packs up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage which is further expandable up to 1.5TB with microSD card. 

The Poco Pad 5G boasts a sleek metal body design, measuring just 7.5mm thin. You get a large 12.1-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1600px) LCD display with 120Hz variable refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, protecting it from accidental scratches and falls. The panel has Dolby Vision support, ensuring a stunning visual experience. 

Poco squeezed Dolby Atmos-tuned quad speakers into the Pad 5G, offering an immersive sound experience while watching movies and shows. Software-wise, the tablet runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. It also supports Xiaomi’s interconnectivity features including a shared clipboard, network sync, cross-device notes, and home screen+ which allows you to share the apps from your phone to the tablet. 

The Pad 5G houses a massive 10,000mAh battery cell with 33W fast charging support. For lenses, you get an 8MP front and Rear camera for capturing videos and selfies. Other features of the Poco Pad 5G include a smart pen stylus with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, poco keyboard support, dual microphones, and WiFi 6. 

The Poco Pad 5G retails at INR 23,999 ($286) for the base 8GB/128GB variant, while the high-end 8GB/256GB model is priced at INR 25,999 ($310). It comes in Cobalt Blue and Pistachio Green color options.
