The Plus Key: A New Era of Hardware-Software Integration
At the heart of this personalized AI experience is the all-new Plus Key, a customizable hardware button set to debut on the OnePlus 13s and planned for broader rollout across all OnePlus smartphones launching this year. Evolving from the familiar OnePlus Alert Slider, the Plus Key offers programmable actions ranging from switching sound profiles and launching the camera to initiating translation or starting recordings.
Crucially, the Plus Key serves as the activation point for AI Plus Mind, a groundbreaking feature designed to swiftly save, catalog, and recall key on-screen information. This marks a significant leap towards truly personalized AI, enabling users to capture critical details like schedules, event information, or reservations with a simple press of the Plus Key or a three-finger swipe. AI Plus Mind intelligently saves relevant on-screen content to a dedicated “Mind Space,” streamlining information capture and organization.
Beyond basic screen capture, AI Plus Mind leverages AI to analyze content contextually. For instance, it can extract schedule details from an image or text and seamlessly add them to the user’s calendar. Furthermore, AI Search, integrated with AI Plus Mind, supports natural language queries for effortless retrieval of saved content. Future updates will also see AI Plus Mind automatically categorizing saved content for enhanced organization. While debuting on the OnePlus 13s, AI Plus Mind will be rolled out to the rest of the OnePlus 13 Series via a software update, with plans for wider device availability to follow.

- AI Best Face 2.0 (coming this summer via OTA): Enhances group photos by automatically detecting and correcting issues like closed eyes or suboptimal expressions for more polished results, supporting up to 20 individuals and even photos captured on other devices.
Furthermore, OnePlus has announced deeper integration with Google Gemini, set to work across OxygenOS apps like OnePlus Notes and Clock, as well as Google’s own applications, promising a more seamless AI experience. For highly sensitive information, on-device processing within a trusted environment is prioritized. When more intensive computation is required, the company’s Private Computing Cloud (PCC) provides a secure, encrypted environment for data processing. This is achieved through a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) that spans the user’s device, the cloud servers, and the data transfer process itself, ensuring data remains private and inaccessible to unauthorized parties. This hybrid approach underscores OnePlus’s commitment to balancing advanced AI capabilities with robust privacy protection.
