iGULU is taking home fermentation beyond traditional beer brewing with the launch of the iGULU F2, a connected countertop brewing system designed to make everything from craft beer and cider to wine, mead, kombucha, kefir, and sparkling beverages.
The next-generation machine launches on Kickstarter on September 22, 2026, with early-bird pricing starting at $469, compared with a stated regular retail price of $924.
The F2 builds on iGULU’s previous homebrewing systems with automated fermentation control, active heating and cooling, guided recipes, app connectivity, fresh tap dispensing, and automatic bottling in a single system.
The company is also introducing a collaboration with Danish craft brewery Mikkeller, giving F2 users the opportunity to brew the brewery’s Beer Geek Breakfast stout using a dedicated ingredient kit and RFID-enabled recipe.
One Machine, Five Brewing Categories
The iGULU F2 is designed to go well beyond conventional beer brewing. The company has organized its capabilities into five brewing categories:
- Craft Beer: Lager, IPA, stout, wheat beer, saison, and other beer styles.
- Orchard, Mead & Vine: Cider, fruit wine, mead, and sparkling wine.
- Living Culture: Kombucha, kefir, and other cultured beverages.
- Sparkling Creations: Sparkling tea, coffee, and mixed drinks.
- Fermentation Lab: Vinegar, rice wine, sake, and experimental fermentation projects.
This approach makes the F2 as much a beverage experimentation platform as it is a beer machine.
Users can start with an iGULU Brew Kit containing preselected ingredients or use Creator Mode to modify brewing parameters and develop their own recipes.
FermControl 3.0 Automates Fermentation
At the center of the F2 is iGULU’s FermControl 3.0 fermentation system.
The technology is designed to automatically manage important variables such as temperature, pressure, oxygen exposure, and fermentation timing. Instead of requiring users to constantly monitor the process, the machine handles much of the environmental control automatically.
The system supports active heating and cooling from 2°C to 40°C, allowing it to maintain appropriate fermentation conditions even as room temperatures change throughout the year.
For newcomers, that automation can reduce some of the complexity associated with fermentation. Experienced brewers, meanwhile, can use the system’s adjustable settings to experiment with their own recipes.
RFID Recipes and AI Guidance
The F2 also introduces RFID-enabled recipe cards. When an official recipe card is scanned, the machine can load the corresponding brewing instructions and fermentation parameters.
The system is paired with an AI Brewing Assistant, which guides users through both predefined Brew Kits and custom recipes.
Users can therefore choose between a guided experience and a more hands-on approach.
Beginner Mode focuses on simplifying the process, while Creator Mode provides additional flexibility for users who want to adjust recipes and fermentation conditions.
The accompanying mobile app provides another way to monitor the brewing process and manage recipes.
Keep Finished Drinks Cold and Ready to Pour
Once fermentation is finished, the F2 is designed to keep the beverage chilled and ready for dispensing for up to 30 days.
Continuous cooling and CO2 management are used to help maintain carbonation and freshness while the drink remains inside the machine.
The system also supports two dispensing options. Users can employ CO2 or an air pump, depending on their setup and preferred method.
Dispensing temperatures can be adjusted between 2°C and 12°C, while tap pressure is designed to operate between 6 and 15 PSI, with 10 PSI listed as the default.
Automatic Bottling for Sharing
The F2 isn’t limited to serving drinks directly from its tap.
An automatic counter-pressure filling system is designed to transfer beverages into bottles while helping preserve carbonation and aroma.
That could make the machine more practical for users who want to share a batch with friends, take homemade beverages to an event, or store portions for later.
5-Liter Capacity With an Expansion Option
The standard F2 has a 5-liter capacity, while an optional module can increase capacity to 10 liters.
The relatively compact countertop design measures 332 × 455 × 518 mm and weighs approximately 11.3 kg.
iGULU says the machine operates at around 40 dB, making it suitable for use in a kitchen or home bar without the noise associated with some larger appliances.
The system also uses FDA food-safe materials and incorporates three layers of pressure protection.
Designed for Lower Maintenance
iGULU has designed the F2 with several features intended to simplify maintenance.
The machine uses replaceable tubing, allowing worn components to be swapped without replacing the entire system. A removable bar-style tap handle can also be changed or personalized.
The system includes power-loss protection as well. According to iGULU, the F2 can resume its brewing program after power is restored rather than requiring users to restart the process from the beginning.
iGULU Teams Up With Mikkeller
One of the more notable additions accompanying the F2 launch is iGULU’s collaboration with Danish craft brewery Mikkeller.
The partnership brings Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Breakfast stout into the homebrewing platform through a dedicated ingredient kit.
The kit includes an RFID recipe card that can automatically load the recommended fermentation program into a compatible iGULU machine.
The F2 then manages temperature, pressure, and timing during the different stages of the brewing process.
The Beer Geek Breakfast recipe is associated with flavors including freshly brewed coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malt, giving homebrewers an opportunity to recreate the stout through a more automated process.
The Mikkeller kit will be offered to early Kickstarter backers and is also compatible with the iGULU S1, S1 NEO, F1, F1 PRO, and F2 systems.

Final Thoughts
The iGULU F2 is positioning homebrewing as a broader countertop beverage-making experience rather than a machine dedicated exclusively to beer.
Its combination of automated fermentation, active temperature control, RFID recipes, AI-assisted brewing, app management, and direct dispensing could make the process more approachable for beginners while leaving room for experienced users to experiment.
The support for beverages ranging from beer and cider to kombucha, kefir, wine, mead, and sparkling drinks is also a significant part of the F2’s pitch. Instead of buying separate equipment for different fermentation projects, users can use one system across multiple brewing styles.
The Mikkeller collaboration adds another layer to the launch, particularly for craft beer enthusiasts interested in recreating a recognizable recipe through a guided process.
With Kickstarter pricing starting at $469 and initial shipments planned for late 2026, the F2 will be one to watch as iGULU attempts to bring more automated fermentation technology into the home.
