iClever has introduced the Q950, a new pair of children’s headphones designed to prioritize hearing health while delivering high-quality audio. The company says the Q950 is the first kids’ headphone model in the world to earn TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care Certification, marking a significant milestone in the development of child-focused audio devices.
The launch comes as concerns continue to grow over the increasing use of personal audio devices among children. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly one billion young people worldwide face the risk of preventable hearing damage due to unsafe listening habits, underscoring the demand for products that help reduce long-term hearing risks.
Certified Beyond Basic Volume Limiting
Rather than relying solely on volume restrictions, iClever has designed the Q950 around a broader hearing wellness strategy. The TÜV Rheinland certification evaluates products across four major categories: safe listening levels, acoustic quality, adaptive audio performance, and long-term hearing care.
This approach is intended to provide not only controlled sound output but also improved audio clarity in challenging environments, enabling children to hear content clearly without raising the volume to potentially harmful levels.
SafeSound Technology Powers Hearing-Friendly Audio
At the core of the Q950 is iClever’s proprietary SafeSound technology, which limits maximum volume to 80 dBA while incorporating advanced sound engineering to enhance listening quality.
The headphones also feature Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) capable of reducing ambient noise by up to 35 dB. By minimizing background distractions during flights, car rides, classrooms, and other noisy settings, the technology allows children to enjoy audio comfortably without increasing playback volume.
Additional features include support for active noise cancellation while connected via AUX cable, automatic play and pause through wear detection, a transparency mode for environmental awareness, Bluetooth audio sharing, and a battery life of up to 60 hours on a single charge.

Award-Winning Design Tailored for Everyday Use
The Q950 has also received recognition for its industrial design, earning the 2026 Red Dot Award for Product Design.
Designed with growing children in mind, the headphones feature an adjustable headband that accommodates different head sizes, along with breathable protein-leather ear cushions, soft sponge padding, and rotating ear cups for improved comfort during extended use. Oversized control buttons have also been incorporated to make operation easier for younger users.
To improve durability, the headphones use a reinforced POK headband and metal hinges. According to the company, the design has successfully passed SGS-certified 3,000-cycle twist testing as well as extensive drop testing, making it suitable for school, travel, and daily family use.
Company Expands Focus on Children’s Hearing Wellness
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Kellsie Busho, Director of Clinical Programs for Audiology, said thoughtful product design plays an important role in helping children develop healthier listening habits. She noted that clearer audio in noisy environments reduces the need for children to increase volume, making hearing protection a more natural part of everyday listening.
The Q950 launch also reflects iClever’s broader efforts to support hearing health education. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Dr. Busho during World Hearing Day 2026 to raise awareness about safe listening practices among families.
Beyond educational initiatives, iClever says it has donated more than 14,900 headphones to over 2,400 schools across the United States, contributing to safer and more focused classroom learning environments.
