Google announced the Nexus 7 at Google I/O, the first Google-branded tablet and the most capable Android tablet available at its $199 price point. Manufactured by ASUS and running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it was available for pre-order immediately and set to ship in mid-July with a $25 Google Play gift card for pre-order customers.
Key specs: a 7-inch 1280×800 HD display, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 4-PLUS-1 processor with a 12-core GPU, a front-facing camera, and 9 hours of continuous video playback. No rear camera. Available in 8GB and 16GB configurations from the Google Play Store.
