Fonus Rolls Out Intl. Numbers in 15 Additional Markets, Broadening its Global Reach

Santa Monica-based Fonus, a leading international mobile virtual network operator, has announced a major milestone in its global expansion move.

This means the addition of local phone number support for eight new countries.

Joining the list are Australia (+61), Belgium (+32), the Czech Republic (+420), Lithuania (+370), the Netherlands (+31), Poland (+48), South Africa (+27), and Thailand (+66).

Fonus’ total of supported countries has increased to 15, enabling users worldwide to activate or port local numbers with enhanced accessibility, flexibility, and localized communication capabilities.

Marking the second phase of its global rollout, this expansion builds on Fonus’ existing coverage in seven countries.

These include the United States and Canada (shared +1), the United Kingdom (+44), Mexico (+52), Hong Kong (+852), Sweden (+46), and Chile (+56).

Fonus Simplifies Cross-border Connectivity

Now, individuals in select markets can activate a new local number or transfer an existing one, simplifying cross-border connectivity while addressing the needs of a globalized world.

“Fonus is redefining global wireless communication by creating a network that feels local, everywhere—from every continent,” said Simon Tian, Fonus Founder and CEO.

“Our mission is to connect people without limits, breaking down barriers to seamless communication. This expansion is a critical step toward a borderless, fully connected future.”

New Local Number Capabilities for 15 Countries

Fonus now supports local phone numbers across the following regions:

United States and Canada (+1)
Australia (+61)
Belgium (+32)
Chile (+56)
Czech Republic (+420)
Hong Kong (+852)
Lithuania (+370)
Mexico (+52)
Netherlands (+31)
Poland (+48)
South Africa (+27)
Sweden (+46)
Thailand (+66)
United Kingdom (+44)

How Fonus Enhances Global Mobility

Fonus’ platform allows users to manage multiple active local numbers from different countries on a single account, making use of either a physical SIM card or eSIM.

The key features are:

  • Instant communication: Receive calls and texts globally at all times, regardless of location.
  • Seamless toggle: Switch between numbers for outgoing calls and messages via the Fonus’ mobile app.
  • KYC compliance: Certain countries require identity verification to adhere to local regulations.

This functionality is ideal for travelers, digital nomads, expats, and remote professionals, who benefit from local-sounding numbers fostering credibility with regional contacts.

The benefits include reduced friction, effortless ease of access regardless of the user’s physical location.

Outbound calls and texts appear local to recipients, while users maintain a consistent presence without juggling multiple SIM cards, providers, or contracts.

Simplified Local Integration

Fonus’s 24/7 support team assists users in porting existing local numbers from the newly added countries, ensuring a smooth transition.

Noteworthy is the fact that this expansion eliminates the complexities of managing global mobile services, empowering users to establish a virtual local presence across multiple regions with minimal effort.

As Fonus continues to grow, its commitment to accessibility, innovation, and borderless communication positions it as a leader in the evolving mobile virtual network operator landscape.
