Shortcut Labs, the innovators behind the globally acclaimed Flic Smart Button, has declared that the mass production of its next-generation device, Flic Duo, has officially commenced.
Having completed all necessary certifications and several successful early planning runs, the company’s manufacturing partners have now initiated full assembly of Flic Duo units, marking the final phase prior to customer deliveries.
“This represents a significant milestone for us,” stated Joacim Westlund Prändel, CEO of Shortcut Labs. “Thousands of customers have already placed pre-orders for Flic Duo, and we are immensely grateful for the response. The factory is now operating at full capacity, and we could not be more satisfied with how the final product is shaping up.”
Certified, Enhanced, and Prepared for Assembly
Flic Duo has successfully obtained all required certifications, including approval for 5 dBm transmission power, providing slightly improved range compared to earlier generations of Flic buttons.
The product now features two fully programmable buttons, along with an integrated buzzer for audible feedback and an accelerometer that facilitates gesture recognition and fall detection, greatly extending its capabilities beyond standard button control.
Innovative Interaction Methods
In addition to button presses, Flic Duo introduces innovative methods for interacting with smart devices. It can be controlled through pushes, motion swipes, and rotation gestures, offering users a tactile yet dynamic approach to managing their smart home or professional systems.
Flic Duo also tailors its functionality based on its environment, exhibiting distinct capabilities when mounted on a wall as opposed to being used detached. For instance, it can modify lighting or initiate scenes when affixed, and when removed, it can adjust music volume or activate other functions.
This dual-functionality design makes Flic Duo one of the most adaptable smart controllers available in the market.

Shortcut Labs has confirmed that SDKs and enterprise integration tools will be made available in Q1 2026, allowing partners to effortlessly integrate Flic Duo into professional monitoring and IoT systems.
Production Underway and Pre-Orders
With production assembly now in progress, Shortcut Labs anticipates commencing shipments of the first customer orders within the upcoming weeks, followed by continuous batches as additional units are completed.
