A portable power station is only as useful as the hours of backup it can deliver when the lights go out. EcoFlow’s new DELTA Gen4 and RIVER Gen4 families focus on stretching battery runtime, cutting idle power use and offering different sizes for home backup, road trips and smaller electronics.
These rechargeable battery systems provide AC outlets and other connections without a gas generator’s exhaust or noise. EcoFlow’s latest announcement spans two larger DELTA models and two compact RIVER units, with separate launch schedules and pricing.
DELTA Gen4 Targets Refrigerator Backup
The DELTA 3800 Gen4 has a 3,763Wh battery, expandable to 12kWh with compatible additional batteries. The DELTA 3000 Gen4 offers 3,072Wh. Both are rated for 3,600W continuous AC output and 7,200W surge output, with EcoFlow’s X-Boost feature advertised for certain appliances drawing up to 4,600W.
EcoFlow says redesigned power management cuts self-consumption by up to 70%, with 14W idle draw when AC output is enabled and 3W in standby. Its Fridge Runtime Boost feature is claimed to extend refrigerator operation to as much as 70 hours on the DELTA 3800 Gen4 or 58 hours on the DELTA 3000 Gen4. Those are manufacturer estimates, and real results depend heavily on the refrigerator, temperature and other loads.

An Emergency Power Mode reserves some DC output capacity for essentials such as phones and lights after the main battery indicator reaches zero. Storm Guard Mode 2.0 uses National Weather Service information to help prepare for incoming severe weather. EcoFlow also advertises transfer times under 10 milliseconds for UPS-style backup, though owners should verify compatibility with especially sensitive equipment.
The DELTA 3800 Gen4 weighs 67.5 pounds, while the DELTA 3000 Gen4 weighs 57.3 pounds. Both include side handles, but neither is something most people will casually toss into a backpack. Charging options include AC, solar, generator and alternator configurations, with model-specific combinations and recharge times.
RIVER Gen4 Shrinks the Footprint
For smaller loads, the RIVER 260 Gen4 combines a 256Wh battery with 300W output and weighs just over six pounds. The RIVER 520 Gen4 doubles capacity to 512Wh, provides 500W output and weighs around ten pounds.
EcoFlow lists AC, USB-C, solar and alternator charging support, along with a 140W bidirectional USB-C connection. The RIVER 260 is rated to reach 80% charge in as little as 42 minutes, compared with 50 minutes for the RIVER 520 under the company’s stated conditions. Low standby draw is intended to reduce wasted capacity between uses.
U.S. Pricing and Availability
The DELTA 3000 Gen4 launches with promotional pricing of $1,299, while the DELTA 3800 Gen4 starts at $1,699. The RIVER Gen4 models are scheduled for presale on November 24. EcoFlow is also running a separate Black Friday promotion through December 7, with advertised discounts of up to 58% on selected products; that percentage does not apply across the entire Gen4 lineup.
For context, AndroidGuys has previously reviewed the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus and covered the company’s DELTA Pro Ultra X home backup system. The Gen4 models sit between everyday portable charging and larger backup installations.
