BOYA Notra Neo AI Note Taker Launches With 140+ Languages

BOYA is expanding its AI-powered audio product lineup with the launch of Boya Notra Neo, a second-generation AI note taker designed to make intelligent recording and transcription more accessible to everyday users.

Building on the company’s experience in professional audio technology, Notra Neo combines automatic recording mode recognition, AI-powered noise cancellation, multilingual transcription, and smart summaries in a compact device. It is designed for students, professionals, content creators, and teams who want an easier way to capture conversations and turn spoken information into organized notes.

Rather than replacing the original BOYA Notra, the Neo serves as a more accessible entry point for people exploring AI-powered note-taking for the first time.

A Simpler Approach to AI Note Taking

Conversations happen everywhere, from classrooms and business meetings to interviews, phone calls, and online discussions. Keeping track of important details can be difficult, particularly when reviewing lengthy recordings or manually writing notes.

Boya Notra Neo aims to simplify that process. Its automatic recording mode recognition system detects different recording scenarios, reducing the need to switch modes manually.

Unlike the original BOYA Notra AI Voice Recorder, which uses manual recording mode switching, the Boya Notra Neo is designed to adapt more naturally to everyday recording situations.

Users can place it on a desk for ambient recording, attach it magnetically to a smartphone for phone conversations, or connect through Bluetooth for supported call-recording scenarios. This automatic approach is intended to make recording less complicated for first-time AI note-taker users.

Three Recording Modes for Everyday Situations

Boya Notra Neo supports three recording scenarios, offering flexibility for different types of conversations.

Ambient Recording

When placed on a desk or another nearby surface, the device captures surrounding conversations through its built-in microphone system.

Its 2MEMS + 1VCS microphone configuration, combined with AI-powered noise cancellation, is designed to help produce clearer recordings in everyday environments. The device supports an advertised noise-cancellation level of up to -30dB.

This mode can be useful for lectures, meetings, interviews, and other in-person conversations where users want to focus on listening instead of taking notes continuously.

Phone Call Recording

The magnetic phone attachment design allows users to capture important smartphone conversations. Potential use cases include customer discussions, interviews, and personal conversations where keeping an accurate record is helpful.

Users should ensure they comply with applicable call-recording consent and privacy laws before recording conversations.

Bluetooth Call Recording

Notra Neo also supports Bluetooth call-recording scenarios, including use with Bluetooth headsets and online communication platforms. This adds another option for capturing conversations that may be difficult to record with a conventional voice recorder.

Together, the three modes are intended to make the device adaptable to different communication environments without requiring users to manage recording settings constantly.

AI Transcription Turns Conversations Into Organized Notes

Recording is only part of the process. Boya Notra Neo also uses AI-powered features to help users make sense of captured audio.

Its listed capabilities include:

  • Transcription in more than 140 languages: Converts spoken conversations into text for easier review.
  • Automatic summaries: Helps users review the main points without replaying an entire recording.
  • Key-point extraction: Highlights important information from longer discussions.
  • Organized notes and action items: Helps turn conversations into information that users can revisit and act on.

These features could be particularly useful for students reviewing lectures, professionals documenting meetings, journalists conducting interviews, and teams tracking discussion points.

Instead of treating recordings as files that must be replayed from beginning to end, the device is designed to help users find and organize the information that matters.

The actual usefulness of AI-generated notes will depend on audio quality, language support, and how accurately the software recognizes speakers and context. Users should review important transcripts and action items rather than assuming every AI-generated detail is error-free.

Compact Hardware With a 5-Meter Pickup Range

Portability is a major part of the Notra Neo design. The device measures 63 × 63 millimeters and weighs just 34.5 grams, making it small and light enough to carry throughout the day.

Despite its compact size, BOYA lists several recording and connectivity features:

  • AI-powered noise cancellation rated at up to -30dB
  • An advertised pickup range of up to 5 meters
  • 2MEMS + 1VCS microphone configuration
  • 610mAh battery capacity
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi file transfer
  • 8GB of storage

The pickup range is particularly relevant for users recording meetings or conversations across a table. Actual results can vary depending on room acoustics, background noise, speaker distance, and how the device is positioned.

Notra Neo is available in four colors: Black, White, Pink, and Yellow. The color options give the device a more approachable appearance than traditional recording equipment while retaining its practical purpose.

BOYA Notra Neo vs. BOYA Notra: What’s Different?

Although the two products belong to the same AI note-taker family, BOYA positions them for different audiences. Notra Neo emphasizes accessibility and simplified operation, while the original Notra targets users who need more storage and a longer pickup range.

Here is how the two models compare based on BOYA’s supplied specifications.

AI noise cancellationUp to -30dBUp to -30dB

The distinction is straightforward: Notra Neo prioritizes a simpler experience and a lower entry price, while the original Notra offers more onboard storage, a longer stated pickup range, and USB-C file transfer.

For users who mainly need to capture everyday conversations and generate summaries, Neo’s smaller design and automatic mode recognition may be sufficient. People who regularly record longer sessions or need additional storage may prefer to evaluate the original model.

Pricing, Discount, and Availability

BOYA says Boya Notra Neo is available worldwide through its official channels. The company’s promotional material advertises 20 percent off, although the final price and eligibility may depend on the retailer or promotion.

Interested buyers can check the official product listing and current offer through the BOYA Notra Neo store page.

The company has not specified a universal retail price in the supplied announcement, so shoppers should consult the store for current pricing and regional availability.
