Audio Pro Introduces the W-Generation: A Smarter, Louder, and Sleeker Era of Scandinavian Sound

Audio Pro, the Swedish brand long associated with big sound in small packages, has introduced its new W-generation speakers—a full-scale refresh that touches nearly every corner of the listening experience. From a redesigned app and refined sound tuning to a more cohesive aesthetic, the W-generation signals a confident next step for one of Scandinavia’s most awarded audio makers.

A Rebuilt App and Smarter Connectivity

Central to the W-generation rollout is a completely overhauled app experience. The new software offers a cleaner interface, faster setup, and greater control over both sound and system management. Audio Pro’s engineers added advanced EQ and room-correction tools, improved Wi-Fi synchronisation for lag-free playback, and an expanded list of streaming services including Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, and iHeartRadio.

“Consumers demand a seamless experience,” said Nils Ankarcrona, CEO of Audio Pro. “Perfect multiroom listening with a rock-solid app is something we’re proud to deliver.”

The update also improves troubleshooting, grouping, and multiroom reliability, giving users more flexibility to shape their sound system. Importantly, every W-series model remains backward-compatible with existing Audio Pro gear, meaning current owners won’t be left behind.

A New Approach to Sound

The W-generation lineup doesn’t just play louder; it’s been completely re-engineered. Henrik Dunér, Audio Pro’s CTO, described the effort as “rethinking the full audio spectrum from the ground up.” The result is a redefined sound signature that leans cleaner, more dynamic, and unmistakably hi-fi.

Across the range, listeners can expect stronger low-end presence, improved clarity, and higher volume headroom. The flagship A48 W gains up to +15 dB in maximum sound pressure and sharper tweeter detail from its BMR driver design, while the compact A15 W delivers deeper bass and longer battery life.

Each model, Dunér said, was tuned “to get the most musical sound from our small form factors”, a fitting goal for a company known for packing punch far beyond its physical size.

Scandinavian Design, Unified and Refined

True to its heritage, Audio Pro’s design team gave the W-generation a subtle yet comprehensive visual refresh. The new series unifies color schemes, grille fabrics, and metal accents for a consistent look across the lineup. Revised logo placement, cleaner back plates, and updated tactile finishes bring a sense of refinement without losing the brand’s minimalist charm.

While the silhouettes of familiar favorites like the Drumfire, A-series, and C-series remain intact, small design tweaks such as smoother button panels and refreshed texture finishes, make the speakers feel distinctly more premium. Select models, including the A28 W, will also arrive in a walnut finish, offering a natural tone to complement modern interiors.

Launched September 5, the Audio Pro W-generation includes updated versions of many of the brand’s best-known speakers:

  • A10 MkII W / A15 W
  • A28 W / A38 W / A48 W
  • C5 MkII W / C10 MkII W / C20 W
  • Drumfire II W / Drumfire D-2 W

UK retail pricing ranges from £220 / €250 for the compact A10 MkII W up to £950 / €1,100 for the flagship A48 W, with US pricing expected in October.

A Fresh Chapter for a Familiar Brand

The W-generation represents a holistic upgrade, new software, new sound, new look, without abandoning what made Audio Pro a favorite among design-minded music lovers. It’s a smarter ecosystem built for those who care about both fidelity and form, whether used as a single speaker or part of a full multiroom system.
