AKASO, known for its outdoor imaging gear, has announced the Sight-300, a lightweight digital monocular designed to bring full-colour clarity to even the darkest nighttime conditions. Built for wildlife enthusiasts, campers, and late-night explorers, the device captures detailed images in environments as dim as starlight, without relying on infrared illumination.
Colour Night Vision Without the Glow
Traditional night vision gear often relies on bulky IR illuminators that can give away a user’s position. The Sight-300 avoids that by combining advanced optics with a quad-core AI image processor, delivering clear, natural-looking colour visuals in lighting as low as 0.001 lux. For wildlife watchers and backcountry hikers, that means less risk of spooking animals or breaking the immersive nighttime atmosphere.
Crisp Imaging Backed by AI Processing
At the centre of the Sight-300 is AKASO’s second-generation AI-ISP engine, which works to clean up each frame in real time. The processor reduces visual noise, cuts down motion blur, and restores up to 99% colour accuracy. Whether stationary in a forest clearing or on the move during a night game, users can expect sharper, more vibrant scenes than the green haze associated with traditional night vision.
Optics and Recording Capabilities
The monocular features a 1/1.79-inch CMOS sensor paired with an F/1.0 lens that maximizes light capture. During daylight, it records video up to 4K at 30 fps, while nighttime footage reaches 2K at 60 fps. An 8× digital zoom adds flexibility for capturing details at a distance, whether for casual sharing or documentation.
Lightweight, Modular, and Adventure-Ready
Weighing 260 grams, the Sight-300 was built for portability and long sessions in the field. It comes with helmet mounting options, tripod compatibility, and a handheld-friendly design aimed at reducing fatigue. Dual scene modes offer flexibility: “Observation Mode” for maximum clarity and “Action Mode” for movement-heavy activities.
With a wide field of view, IP65 water and dust resistance, and a hot-swappable 3,250 mAh battery, the monocular is ready for extended outings. Wi-Fi support also allows for live-view streaming and remote control through a smartphone app.
Launch Timeline
AKASO plans to debut the Sight-300 through Kickstarter, with early backers receiving first shipments in November 2025. Pricing details will be revealed closer to launch.
