Tribit StormBox portable wireless speaker review

Bluetooth speakers come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and price points. To say that it’s easy to find something that works for you would likely be an understatement.

Bluetooth speakers are also widely available; they’re found not just in electronics stores, but general retail stores and myriad online outlets, too.

For every big-name branded speaker that you’ll encounter in your hunt, there also will be unknown companies competing for your attention and money. Take, for instance, Tribit.

Although it doesn’t have the same market presence as Ultimate Ears, it does have a growing portfolio of competing products with lower prices. Its StormBox speaker is one of the brand’s latest products and we’ve had a chance to check one out.

Design

The Tribit StormBox is a cylindrical speaker that takes up about as much space as a large energy drink. Although its buttons lead you to believe there’s a specific front to it, the shape lends itself to a 360-degree sound.

Speaking of buttons, the StormBox keeps things simple. There are volume controls and a multi-function power/pairing button. Oh, and there’s also an XBass button that’s used to take sound to the next level.

The speaker has a hard mesh exterior and an IPX7 rating which means it’s built to withstand splashes and scrapes. At the top is a lanyard that makes it easy to carry or connect to a bag. Nice and portable, it weighs in around one pound total.

Although it pairs via Bluetooth, the StormBox also has a 3.5mm auxiliary input for directly connecting to audio sources. It, and the microUSB charging port are located under a protective rubber flap that keeps things dry.

Also worth noting, you can pair multiple StormBox speakers together to create a stereo sound. We did not have the chance to test the feature out.

What’s Included?

  • Tribit Bluetooth Speaker
  • Micro USB Cable
  • Black Lanyard
  • User Manual

Setup

There’s very little to mess with here as it’s more or less a case of powering on and holding down the pairing button. You don’t have to worry about any apps or phone settings.

Performance

I was quite happy with how the speaker performed as it did everything it promised. The StormBox had no problem filling large rooms and open spaces. You could easily hear whatever was playing throughout any room.

The water-resistance worked pretty well. It was a bit muffled, but nothing drastic. Overall, I thought the speaker did really well underwater.

As for the special button, I didn’t feel that the XBass button had much effect. I wish it had been a bit stronger.

The battery life is reported to be twenty hours. I used it right out of the box and used it for about ten hours, and haven’t had to charge it yet. The manual includes a guide to figuring out the different functions, including how to understand your battery level. It isn’t very obvious, but there is a column of lights on the back that will give you a general idea.

Conclusion

One of the best selling points of the StormBox is that it comes with an 18-month warranty. Not only that, but you can extend it out to 30 months at no extra cost. This process is done online at Tribit’s website.

Given the affordable ($60) price, this is a great speaker option for people who might want something for around the home, office, or pool. It’s portable, sounds great, and has an excellent battery life.

Availability

The Tribit StormBox comes in a variety of color options, including blue, black, and red. Look for it at Tribit’s website and Amazon for about $60.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Buds Live now available

0

Samsung on Wednesday introduced its newest wearable, the Galaxy Watch 3, and its next-generation of earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Live. Both are set to go on sale August 6.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

The Galaxy Watch 3, available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, can be had with Bluetooth-only and LTE-ready versions. Both sizes have full-color, always-on OLED displays protected by Gorilla Glass.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a more upscale approach to wearables, and its price is proof positive. At $399 and up, it runs about $70 more than the first-gen watch and $150 more than the Watch Active 2.

The Galaxy Watch 3 has a familiar look with a physical rotating dial and two buttons on the side. And while it looks a little heavier and clunkier than the Active wearable, you may be surprised.

The Galaxy Watch 3 is reported to be 14 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch. And while there is no Galaxy Watch 2, there is a Galaxy Watch Active. As such, the new model builds on features found in both.

The 41mm version will be sold in bronze or silver options; the 45mm version will be silver or black.

The Galaxy Watch 3 is designed with stainless steel and comes with a color-matched leather band. According to Samsung, a titanium model will be offered later this year.

As far as features go, the Galaxy Watch 3 features enhanced sleep tracking with improved algorithms and more precise data. It also has a trip/fall detection that can notify a contact when one is detected.

Also present are the standard suite of features including notifications from apps, customizable watchfaces, mobile payment (Samsung Pay), a speaker for alerts and calls, hands-free Bixby assistant, and more.

Samsung Pay for mobile payments (NFC only), and a speaker for playing alerts and taking calls. Samsung says the battery life can last up to two days between charges.

The Galaxy Watch 3 will sell for $399.99 (41mm) and $429.99 (45mm), with the LTE-ready version at $449.99 and $479.99, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live

Samsung’s latest wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Live, are priced $170 and come in three colors (Mystic White, Mystic Black, and Mystic Bronze).

Similar to Apple’s standard AirPods, the Galaxy Buds Live feature have an open design, which mean they’ll sit in your ear without having to force them into your canal. They’ll come two sets of “wingtips” to help ensure a more secure fit.

The Galaxy Buds Live are rated for eight hours of playback with noise canceling off and up to six hours with it enabled. The charging case, which charges wirelessly or through USB-C, provides about 2.5 additional charges. According to Samsung, a five-minute quick charge yields an hour of battery life.

The Galaxy BBuds Live are IPX2 water-resistant and sweat-resistant so you can work out in them or build up a sweat from running.

Samsung has added a couple of features for those who own a Galaxy phone or tablet, including low-latency gaming mode. Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, can also be used hands-free by saying, “Hi, Bixby.”

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 officially slated to arrive in September

0

Samsung on Wednesday began uncovering the preliminary details for its next-gen premium foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

With pre-orders set to kick off on September 1, there’s still plenty of features to be uncovered. However, Samsung does give us a sense of what to expect.

For starters, both screens have been made larger as compared to its predecessor. The exterior display is 6.2-inches while the flexible interior one has been bumped up to 7.6-inches.

SEE ALSO

Similar to its Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung will employ its Ultra Thin Glass in the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This will help keep the screen more safely protected.

Samsung has also re-engineered the hinge, using more than 60 precision parts all while retaining a similar appearance.

Other specifications include punch hole cameras in both displays and a 4,500mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be sold in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze colors. A limited run Thom Browne Edition will also be sold.

Pricing and exact availability is unclear, but we do know that Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile have already pledged to carry the phone. Look for the full picture to be revealed as we approach the September 1 pre-order date.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 arrives, marking its first 5G-ready tablets

Features in the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus include 120Hz refresh rates, come with Samsung’s S Pen, and support optional keyboard cases.

The main difference between the two units will be the size and type of display. The Galaxy Tab S7 has an 11-inch LCD while the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus comes in larger at 12.4-inches with an OLED panel under the glass.

But most of the emulators are not worth experiencing. Some of the Android emulators destroy the gaming experience, which you will never want.

Now, you might think about the solution to it. You might question how you can play an Android game on your PC or a laptop without damaging the gaming experience. Well, the simple solution to this concern is LDPlayer. A few of you people might not be familiar with the LDPlayer so let me familiarize you with this amazing thing.

What is LDPlayer?

LDPlayer is a free Android emulator using which you can play any of your favorite Android games. Whether you are a PC or a laptop user, the LDPlayer will permit you to get the best gaming experience without any issue. Not only gaming, but you can also use any Android app on your operating system with the help of the LDPlayer emulator. Although it runs Android apps, it is specially designed for gamers.

Apart from it, this software provides excellent keyboard mapping controls. From older games to all the latest ones, this software will run all on your system. Unlike the other emulators, it does not minimize the pace of the Android app. Besides this, the LDPlayer offers a custom control, which means that you can connect keyboard and mouse as per your choosing. Connecting a mouse and a keyboard will give you better control of the game you are playing.

System Requirements for LDPlayer

Another great thing about the LDPlayer is that you don’t need to own a high-end system to operate it. Even if your computer or laptop does not hold higher RAM, processing power, or hard disk space, you can still use it with no worry.

Below we have mentioned the maximum and minimum system requirements that you will need to run the LDPlayer on your system quickly.

Minimum System Requirements

You will need to have a RAM of 2GB with the minimum free storage space of 36GB as a minimum requirement. You can operate the software on Windows XP, Windows 7/8/8.1, as well as on Windows 10. Apart from this, you will be required to enable the hardware virtualization technology in the BIOS to run the software. Also, make sure to have a graphics driver with OpenGL 2.0 and DirectX 11 so that it works properly.

Recommended Specifications

In case you want to run the LDPlayer without facing any issue, then you should focus on the recommended specifications. The recommended specs for this software are moderate. You will require a RAM of 8GB or higher to run this software on your PC or laptop. Apart from RAM, the LDPlayer demands 100GB of free disk space for better performance.

However, you can still run the software even if you have less space. You will need an Intel i5 7500 or a better CPU for the LDPlayer. The NVIDIA GeForce, GTX 750 Ti card, is also in the recommended specifications of this software. Even if your system does not match the recommended specs, you don’t need to bother because you can still run this LDPlayer emulator on your order if you have the minimum suggested requirements. But with the recommended specifications, you can get the best performance of this software, so try to use it on the suggested specs.

What You Will Get with LDPlayer?

Below are some of the things that you will get with this emulator.

  • Android Experience: This emulator will provide you with a full Android experience. It also presents support to the Android 5.1 and 7.1, which makes it worth trying.
  • Quality Gaming: It offers Android gamers the option to play their preferred games on a PC or a laptop using a mouse and a keyboard. There are no restrictions, so you can play any game you want.

  • Active Updates: In contrast to other emulators, the LDPlayer delivers active updates. Mostly you will get the updates on a monthly basis via this software. You can use the update to enjoy the latest features of the emulator.

Reasons to Choose LDPlayer

There are a lot of reasons due to which you might want to select the LDPlayer. However, here we will make you familiar with some of the most important reasons due to which you might desire to try out this software.

It will give you a lot better feel on your PC and laptop as compared to the Android device. You will enjoy every second of using the LDPlayer.

No Lag

Running a few software on an emulator usually results in lagging. However, with the LDPlayer, you will not go through any such concern. Whether you are using a normal app or playing some high-end games on this emulator, the lag problem will not occur.

This is why most people, especially gamers, prefer using this software. The only thing you will need is a better system. If your system has the recommended or the minimum suggested specifications, you don’t have to worry about any problem as it will not occur.

Quality Support

Most of the emulators do not support all applications, but that is not the case with this emulator. You can easily run almost all the apps using the LDPlayer with no problem.

The quality support of this software makes its second to none. Because of better support, this software is recommended to both gamers and regular users.

Multiple Applications

The ability to run various apps simultaneously is another reason to try out the LDPlayer. In most of the emulators, the user can run only a single app at a time. That is not the case with the LDPlayer.

In the LDPlayer, you can operate several apps at a time. You can play multiple games simultaneously, which makes this software unique. This software gives the opportunity to run as many games or other apps as you want without causing any problem.

User-Friendly

Most of the emulators are hard to use for a beginner because of the complicated interface. If you are using an emulator for the first time, then things may become more hard-to-understand for you. However, with the LDPlayer, there is no such problem because of the user-friendly interface.

You can become a professional of this software within a day because it does not have anything complicated in it. Also, the user doesn’t need any technical knowledge while using it, which makes the process effortless.

High Graphics

Low graphics is another issue that gamers usually have while playing their favorite game through the emulator. Most of the emulators destroy the graphics of the game, which results in a poor gaming experience.  Also, such emulators reduce the FPS and make the player experience a game full of lag. While with the LDPlayer, that is not the case. This software knows the role of graphics and FPS on a system due to which it has a prime focus on it.

The software ensures that it does not harm the visual quality of the game. It focuses on delivering the same high-quality graphics as needed by the player.

Conclusion

In case you want to experience your favorite Android game on a PC or a laptop, then you should try the LDPlayer. It will allow you to enjoy the application on a big screen. You can also connect the mouse and a keyboard with this emulator. LDPlayer is quite popular because of its better performance. Also it is the best emulator for PUBG Mobile. The constant updating of the software makes it the best in the market.

No matter whether you like playing high-FPS or high graphics games, you can play it using the LDPlayer software. It will make Android gaming a lot better for you. In addition, you can get the experience of playing multiple games at a time through it. Though gaming is the prime focus of this emulator, other Android users can also use it as it runs almost all types of applications. So try the LDPlayer, and you will surely love using it.
