VentiFresh ECO: Eliminate bad odors at home, on the cheap

0

There’s nothing quite as irritating or invasive as a nasty odor. It doesn’t matter where you are, if there’s something stinky in the air, it’s hard to avoid. Thanks to our olfactory system, we can detect and discriminate an incredibly broad range of odors.

When you walk into a new environment you immediately notice the smell. What if it’s stale or unpleasant? What if that’s what your home or office smells like on a regular basis? Between kids, pets, food, and other factors, your house can start to have a certain smell.

The VentiFresh ECO: Next Generation Odor Eliminator, now available in the AG Deals Store for just $45, can help remove those often-draining odors.

A big hit (388% funding!) on Indiegogo, the VentiFresh ECO gets rid of bad smells using the same photocatalyst tech that NASA utilizes in the International Space Station. In other words, the UV catalyst core decomposes odor through natural photosynthesis, producing clean air as a result. Indeed, this green solution does far more than mask cat litter, smelly shoes, waste bins, more — it turns it into clean, breathable air.

The VentiFresh ECO is easy to use and comes in a compact design that’s just a few inches square. Simply plug in the micro USB cable, put it in place, and choose the mode you want.

The VentiFresh ECO: Next Generation Odor Eliminator, typically $72, is on sale for just $45 in the AG Deals Store. Pick up two and save $10 in the process!

iLive Bluetooth Tailgate Party Speaker review (Video)

0

Way back before the pandemic people used to gather in groups to celebrate or hang out for sporting events. Known as parties, many of them took place in parking lots ahead of a football game.

Today we still gather in smaller groups, sometimes in back yards or driveways to enjoy friends and family. Music is a key part of getting together and having the right speaker can be instrumental to a good time.

While you can spend hundreds of dollars on a lavish high-end speaker, it’s not necessary. In fact, the iLive Bluetooth Tailgate Party Speaker is an affordable way of providing decent audio from all sorts of sources.

What is the iLive Bluetooth Tailgate Party Speaker?

A portable Bluetooth speaker that allows for music from Bluetooth, a 3.5mm auxiliary source, FM radio, and more. It’s priced to move at around $70 and does a good job of filling a room or medium-sized space with respectable sound.

iMyFone AnyRecover review: A complete solution to recover lost data

0

Your personal data is like digital currency. And much like your banking account, you want some failsafe to keep that data secured. However, despite all our efforts, sometimes we just mess up and delete something we shouldn’t have. That’s where AnyRecover from iMyFone comes in.

Recover almost any file

The AnyRecover data recovery tool is great for making sure that the file you need is always a few clicks away. Even if you’ve deleted it from your hard drive. See, digital files may look gone, but most operating systems still hold that space until a new file needs it.

This gives a program like AnyRecover a chance to attempt to salvage that file and bring it back to life. This includes deleted files by right-click menus, emptying the Trash/Recycle bin, and even partition destruction.

What kind of files can you resuscitate? Well, AnyRecover can restore most of your major file types: docx, jpg, avi, zip and even exe are just a few. Basically, if Windows supports the format, so does AnyRecover. That includes trying to recover data from an SD card or external hard drive.

How to get back your zombie files

First, you need to download AnyRecover from the iMyFone website (.exe file). Once installed, you can choose a location you’d like to scan for recoverable files. This can include a folder, shortcuts like My Desktop or Documents, Recycle Bin, or even an entire hard drive.

With the files scanned, you are then presented with a list of items that AnyRecover has a very good chance to restore. From there you can check the boxes next to files you’d like to have back in your life.

You can even preview files before you click the Recover button. This comes in especially handy with images or documents that may have somewhat random naming schemes. The preview gives you the opportunity to see if it’s the correct file beforehand and confirm.

Works like a life raft

In my testing, I’ve yet to find a deleted file using the Windows operating system that AnyRecover couldn’t find the remnants of. I intentionally deleted several files and AnyRecover was successful in restoring them.

Impressively, it even found older deleted files from a few weeks back. The Recycle Bin feature is also handy as it takes on the recently emptied bin and allows you to recover those as well. Essentially it’s a double restore from a deleted file that you then purged from the Recycle Bin.

All Sorts of Features

There is a wide array of features and benefits for using the AnyRecover data recovery tool, including the following.

  • Fast scanning with pause and resume
  • Pare results by date, type, or name
  • Do-it-yourself is better than sending your PC offsite
  • More than 1,000 file types supported
  • Works with damaged hard drives, crashed PCs, and formatted devices
  • Recover files from hard drives, flash drives, SD cards, SSDs, and more

There’s one catch

AnyRecover is extremely useful in restoring previously deleted files. However, the free trial can only bring back three files before you have to purchase. If you still have a need you’ll require a license subscription.

AnyRecover provides free scans, free previews, and lets users recover three files for free. If the users are satisfied, they can proceed to buy it. Additionally, it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Customers have the options of monthly, yearly, or lifetime at $49.95, $59.95, and $79.95 respectively. This will give you free reign to recover all those lost files for a single PC.

Solid

iMyFone has put forth a great offering with the AnyRecover data recovery tool. This software allows users both novice and experienced to restore deleted files. The interface is well-designed and intuitive to get user’s files back in order.

Although it may appear to have a pretty steep price tag, AnyRecover is competitively priced and offers a solution to problems that many PC users experience. Whether you’ve simply made a mistake or had a crash, you get a unique and helpful option to restore your coveted data.

Learn more about AnyRecover at its website or head directly to the page to download it directly (.EXE) and get started.

For a limited time you can save 30% on your purchase of a one-year plan as part of a holiday discount!

ZINGR – local house party app to make friends near me with similar interests

0

Meeting people isnt a very easy thing to do during the lockdown, but for luckily there are many social and dating apps to help us. While most of us want to search for like-minded people, sometimes we need to first figure out what exactly our interests are before looking for them in others.

Take some time to think about what it is that motivates you, excites you, or makes you think about spending time on it. Once you’ve figured out your interests, the next thing you need is a great site that gets you that perfect setup so that you can easily meet and chat with someone based on those interests.

Finding a stranger who’s all-ears and willing to listen to whatever you have to say for as long as you want can be a challenge without the right tools. Local app ZINGR is one of the best apps you should try for connecting with people around you with similar interests. This social network helps users discover nearby people so they can can share videos, photos, stories and more with their local communities. This app is great for making new friends with similar hobbies and interest or for just chatting up nearby strangers.

Connect people nearby to find new friends

Based on your interests and current location, ZINGR uses nearby hashtags to recommend like-minded people around you. This app use GPS to get your location and to show you the nearest people as well as the most trending posts in your city. This is a great way to connect people around you and to know what is happening nearby.

ZINGR is simple to use; if you would like to connect people who, for example love to play PlayStation, just add some hashtags with #playstasion and the app will discover local people who are into gaming as well. It is a quick and easy way to find new friends who love to do the same things and/or meet them in real life.

ZINGR – House party app to find local friends during Covid-19

As we all know, the coronavirus pandemic has closed night clubs, bars, and restaurants and cancelled most of events. However, it’s also given rise to private parties and virtual gatherings are pretty viral. People are searching for other ways to have fun and connect.

A lot of people during the pandemic have used popular hashtag #houseparty on social networks to meet people for a private party. This hashtag is also popular on ZINGR. Local, in-person private parties are forbidden by many local governments during the pandemic as it is one of the key ways in how Coronavirus is spread. ZINGR is an alternative that hopes to provide a virtual approach to meeting and mingling.

ZINGR app is maybe one of the best apps to find new local friends; however, during the quarantining, stay-at-home, and isolation, people should follow the recommendations and stay safe at home. The CEO of ZINGR Kęstutis Gedaitis hopes that the most trending worldwide hashtag #houseparty will be replaced by #stayhome and people will stay at home and use social apps to communicate with their family and friends online during the lockdown, as this is one of the best and safest ways.

Earfun Free Pro ANC review

0

Earfun might not be a household name, but the company has started to make a buzz with good quality audio accessories for your mobile devices. We’ve had the chance to review several over the last few years and have been more impressed than not. Earfun’s latest offering the Free Pro ANC earbuds are no exception.

Design

I’m really taken with the look and feel of the Earfun Free Pro buds. These headphones are sleek, small, and have a great fit. The overall look isn’t anything new with a silicone tip and an earloop to help stabilize the earbud on the inside of the ear.

Flanking the outside of each earpiece is the Earfun logo, but it’s not just cosmetic. This area is a capacitive touch surface for you to interact with the Free Pro when needed and we’ll dive into that more further next in this review.

Touch controls

As mentioned the Earfun Free Pro has touch controls for you to manipulate the playback of certain things without pulling out your phone each time. Let’s start with play/pause; this can be accomplished by double-tapping either earbud. The same during an incoming call will answer or end the conversation.

Volume can also be controlled by the multifunction button. Touching the right earpiece will increase the volume a level while the left side will decrease. This is a setback that I wish wasn’t there on wireless earbuds but is a symptom of the small form factor that to properly control both volumes you have to be using both earbuds.

Voice assistants are also onboard with the Earfun Free Pro. Holding the right earbuds for 2 seconds will activate your favorite mobile AI buddy. This worked well in my testing with consistently prompting Google Assistant on my Pixel 5.

Other notable options are surrounding the active noise cancellation and a low latency mode. ANC can be turned on or off with a triple tap of the left earpiece. Low latency increases the overall audio quality from 200ms to 100ms but the manual notes that this will decrease the connection range over Bluetooth. This can be activated with a 2-second tap and hold of the left earbud.

Audio

The playback of the Earfun Free Pro is really good, especially considering how compact the earbuds are. The highs and mids come through crisp and clear. This gives you great feedback on vocals and instruments whether it be podcasts or music.

The balance with the bass is the big winner for me here. Most active noise-canceling earbuds simply overpunch with bass when listening to music. It’s amped up to the point where it drowns out all the other audio output.

Thankfully, Earfun has found a great medium with the Free Pro earbuds. The bass is still impactful without being the dominant element. Earfun nailed it here.

Battery life and charging

Battery life in this small form factor is superb as well. The company rates the Free Pro at seven hours without ANC turned on and six hours with ANC activated. I’m happy to report this is spot on.

I am consistently seeing at least these ratings and maybe a tad more when the volume isn’t too high. A normal workday minus my lunch hour has been achievable with no issues.

When you do have to charge up, the included case can recharge the Earfun Free Pro buds another three times with roughly 32 total hours of charge. Charging takes just under an hour with the case.

The battery case also has both my modern must-haves for refueling its cells: USB-C and wireless Qi-charging. Both are on board and work as intended when you need to charge the carrying case. Added note… the case is really slim and fits well in your pocket.

Final thoughts

I’ve really enjoyed my time with the Earfun Free Pro earbuds. With the small form factor, travel-ready case, and great audio with active noise cancellation, the company has a real winner in my eyes.

Wrap that up in a bow of a $60 price tag and it’s a dream combination. Need even more motivation? There’s a 10% discount on the Amazon page already, but our readers can snag another 10% with the code FREEPRO20.

Xiaomi Mi 11 launch date announced, first phone with Snapdragon 888

0

Back a few weeks ago, when the Snapdragon 888 was announced, Qualcomm announced that one of their manufacturer partners was Xiaomi. Leaks came out suggesting that we could see a Xiaomi Mi 11 sporting the new chipset by the end of the year, with Xiaomi themselves saying that the Mi 11 would be one of the first devices to run on the Snapdragon 888, though no date came with that.

Now, in a post on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, co-founder Lei Jun has confirmed that we can expect the Xiaomi Mi 11 to come out on December 28th at 7:30PM.

Leaks have been pretty far and few between, though information suggests the device will come in two variants, a standard and a pro, and both will support 55W fast wired charging. In addition to this, the Mi 11 might feature a 120Hz QHD+ display. However, we don’t have to wait long for any of these to be confirmed, with December 28th being less than a week away.

SplashLearn: Math & Reading – Kids Learning Games

1

With COVID-19 forcing virtual learning on many students, parents and teachers are forced to look to technology to help teach students. SplashLearn is an app by StudyPad Inc. that uses games to teach children math and reading comprehension. Either a teacher or a parent can sign up through the app and add children to their family. Children are guided through the app by the voices of animated characters, showing the child what to do if they seem to be struggling.

Since I do not have a child and am not a teacher, I will be reviewing SplashLearn as if I am both a parent and their child who is in Prekindergarten, John.

To set up the app, simply download it, select your child’s age and learning goals, and input your email. Settings and subscriptions are blocked by a PIN that is your birth year. You can have multiple children, but that is a premium feature (pricing will be covered later on).

SplashLearn Home Screen

On my home screen, it showed the available games and an ability to switch between math and reading. The arrow in the bottom right will reveal other topics within math and reading.

The games are actually relatively engaging, giving you pointers on how to get started as well as tips when the player seems stuck. As my son John is a preschooler, the games were pretty simple and were essentially just counting and learning words.

The games have good variety, from counting to sequencing to finding words and letters. One of the first games you encounter is Way to the Party, which I think is amazingly fun for learning how to count. You click on the characters to wake them up, with a voice in the game counting off the characters. At the end, your child is rewarded by seeing all the characters at a party. The games also helps to engage students by giving them praise for doing individual tasks in addition to giving them a star performance on each game, from one to three.

In some games, this is further added to with a progress bar. Essentially, your child will never not be encouraged to continue playing through the games. If your child doesn’t do so well and wants to try again, they can go back and play the game over and over again. Similarly, dissertation writing services encourage students to improve their work by offering guidance, feedback, and multiple revisions, ensuring their success throughout the writing process.

Now, paywall time. About the first six games in reading and math are free, but after that, a subscription is required. I signed up for the 7-day free trial just to see what is offered for paying subscribers, but here is what you can expect to pay if you want more than twelve games.

In addition to the full range of games, you get the ability to add more child profiles and probably the coolest part of the app, “Leveled Readers.” These are books that are tailored to your child’s reading level (based on their grade) and they offer the ability for your child to either read the book themselves or have the book read to them. Below is what one of the pages of the book looks like for my prekindergarten child, John.  This one is focused on the letter A.

SplashLearn Leveled Readers

Your child can click through back and forth through the pages and request that it be read again. The voice is clear and enunciates well which I can imagine is great for a child trying to learn how to read.

While it is hard for me to understand how well this app will work for a child since I am not, I think SplashLearn is a wonderful option for your child’s learning. However, with only about 12 games available for free, getting it without a subscription will only likely give you use for a week. Once you subscribe, somewhere in the realm of 200 different games and books are available. SplashLearn is offered through Grade 5, so it can follow your child and adapt as their knowledge changes.

You can download SplashLearn on the Play Store.

The new OnePlus concept phone has a color changing back and motion sensing technology

0

At the beginning of this year, OnePlus showed off its first-ever concept phone dubbed the Concept One. The device was essentially a OnePlus 7T Pro on the inside, with a different design on the outside, and featured special electrochromic glass over the camera module. This allowed for the glass to change from clear to black and render the camera lenses invisible.

The technology could also be used as a neutral density filter for the camera for some advanced photography techniques. While this was not entirely useful, it was unique and showed how OnePlus is experimenting to make its phones stand out.

Now, the never settle brand is at it again with a brand new concept phone just ahead of CES 2021. The OnePlus 8T Concept shares a lot of similarities with the original OnePlus 8T, with a couple of changes on the back.

For starters, the rear panel of the OnePlus 8T Concept features a color-changing back, but what makes it special is how it achieves this effect. Under the glass panel is a metal oxide pattern that can change colors based on the voltage that is applied to it. Basically, making it possible to use it as an elaborate notification light.

On top of that, the OnePlus 8T Concept includes a radar module built into the camera bump on the back. It uses millimeter wave, similar to mmWave 5G technology, to recognize and track objects. This radar technology could be used for controlling your phone hands-free with gestures, such as answering or rejecting a phone call. OnePlus also mentions that it could sense a user’s breathing as some sort of biofeedback device.

If this sounds familiar, besides the breath monitoring, that’s because it’s much like the Soli function from the Pixel 4. A feature that Google has since moved on from, as it’s not included in any of the phones that proceeded the Pixel 4.

While concept phones from OnePlus are meant to be a showcase for new technology that could someday make it into future OnePlus phones. Don’t get your hopes up about seeing either of these features any time soon. The electrochromic glass from last year’s Concept One hasn’t trickled down into any future OnePlus models over the past year, and it may never make an appearance.

Much like concept cars, companies use these devices to experiment, create buzz, and test the waters of what’s possible. There’s no guarantee we’ll ever see technology in a consumer device, but that doesn’t stop us from getting excited by the new shiny thing.
