OnePlus 10 Pro design, price, rumors, and specs leak

0

OnePlus announced the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro in March of 2021. According to rumors, OnePlus is looking to move that date up for their next release. The OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro might arrive in late January 2022 or early February 2022.

The Design

The well-known and reliable leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer of @OnLeaks, in collaboration with Zouton has released a new round of renders, showing the OnePlus 10 Pro in much more detail.

The front of the device features slim bezels and a small hole punch at the top left corner for the front-facing camera.

Around the back, there is a Hasselblad triple camera setup with a very Samsung Galaxy S21 look. The expectation is that OnePlus dropped the monochrome camera sensor from the device this year. The OnePlus 10 Pro may have a periscope lens with a 5x optical zoom.

OnePlus 10 Device Specs

Additional information about the specs is starting to surface. 91mobiles has shared that both the OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro should launch with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Both devices will have 8 – 12 GB of RAM.

The OnePlus 10 sports a 6.55-inch display, while the OnePlus 10 Pro is should have a 6.7-inch display. Rumors point to both displays having a 120Hz refresh rate.

Battery capacity seems to be up for debate at the moment. The OnePlus 10 is expected to have a 4500 mAh battery. Some rumors point to the OnePlus 10 Pro as having a 5000 mAh capacity but take that last bit with a grain of salt.

There is a possibility that these devices may have 125-Watt fast charging support.

The OnePlus 10 series of devices should be the first ones to have the new Oppo-OnePlus combined OS.

The OnePlus 10 series should be priced similarly to the OnePlus 9 series. For reference, the OnePlus 9 sold for $729 and the OnePlus 9 Pro sells for $1069.

We will continue to update this article as new information surfaces. Early 2022 is shaping up to be a fun one in the world of mobile phones.

Samsung releases Android 12 and One UI 4 to Galaxy S21 devices

0

Samsung announced the official release of its One UI 4 update. The Android 12 based software update will begin rolling out to Galaxy S21 series devices today. This includes the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

One UI 4 introduces new color palettes which is Samsung’s take on Android 12’s Material You design update. This allows the operating system to extract the colors from your background. It then applies the colors to various elements throughout the phone. These elements include your home screen, menus, icons, buttons, and notifications.

One UI 4 introduces a variety of new emoji features, GIFs, and stickers to the Samsung keyboard app.

A major focus of Android 12, outside of the new Material You design language, is on privacy and security. A new privacy dashboard brings all your security and privacy controls to the same place.

One UI 4 Privacy Features

Your device will now let you know when an app is trying to access your camera or microphone with a green icon at the top of your screen. You can even add buttons to your quick settings menu to turn off access to the camera and the microphone.

Samsung indicated that the One UI 4 update will be coming at a later date to a wide range of previous Galaxy S, Note, Fold, Flip, A, and Tab devices.

If you are the proud owner of a Galaxy S21 device, go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to get the update.

It is rolling out now, so it may take a while to get to your device. If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy S21, you will have to wait for the carrier to make it available, which could take a while.

Get a lifetime second phone line for your Android for only $20

0

You might not realize it, but you need a second phone line for your mobile device. We can think of a number of reasons for you to consider getting one. Maybe you’ve been buying and selling items online in venues such as Craigslist. Or, perhaps you need to keep work and personal lines separate from one another.

Other reasons for a second phone line could include:

  • A throwaway number to use for signing up on websites and order forms
  • Profiles for websites like Tinder or Airbnb
  • A secondary line for specific contacts
  • A burner line because… well, we don’t wanna know

Maybe you already knew you wanted or needed a second line, but thought that it would be expensive or a pain in the butt. Not at all. We’ve got exactly what you’re looking for and it’s dirt cheap, too.

Ottawa-based Hushed App understands as well as anyone that there are real needs and concerns when it comes to phone numbers. Not everyone wants to give out their cell phone for things today, especially when it’s often our only line of communication. It’s a slippery slope to unwanted calls and unsolicited text messages.

Hushed has been in the game of secondary phone lines for some time now and has amassed some 5 million installs across Android alone.

It’s not just the phone number itself which makes Hushed compelling. In addition to calls, an account through Hushed also includes SMS, MMS, call forwarding, customized voice mail, and integration with Slack, Dropbox, and more. In other words, you can configure it to do all sorts of great things.

“But, wait, I already have a free app for texting. What’s the difference?” Indeed, while there are other free texting apps available in the Play Store, Hushed is a premium app that offers more features and comes with a better design and user interface. It’s like the Cadillac of Privacy Apps.

$20 for a Lifetime Plan!

AndroidGuys readers, however, can save a ton of money on a lifetime account. We’re able to offer you the goods for a one-time cost of $20. That’s it. No renewal costs, no extra charges down the road.

Included in the $20 plan are 6,000 SMS and 1,000 minutes of calls per year. That’s more than enough for something you’ll only use on an as-needed basis. But, if you need more, there are other options, too.

Get started right now!

Visit the AG Deals Store and you’ll find four options to choose from, all of which are lifetime plans. Remember, these are a one-time purchase and not annual charges!

Moving to London from abroad? Download these essential Android apps

0

If you’re preparing for a big move to the UK capital of London, you have an exciting journey ahead of you. Every single year between 2014 and 2019, more than 200,000 people moved to London, making it one of the most popular global hubs for international workers and thrill seekers in the world.

No matter where you are from or what you want to do, London has what you need to make you feel at home. More than 300 languages are spoken in the city, while virtually every nationality, faith group, and subculture you can think of has a vibrant community in the city.

Nonetheless, your move will be easier if you have some simple tools to help you adjust to life in London. With that in mind, here are the essential Android apps to download before you go.

Preply: On-the-Go English Tutoring

Whether you are moving to London for work, study, or play, it is the perfect opportunity to master your English skills. The working language across all industries and sectors in London is English, meaning that a strong grasp of the language is essential to get ahead in your career. For this, you can use a language app, which offers instant, on-the-go tutoring from real native speakers. They can help you master conversational English and sound like a native in no time.

Santander Cycles: Get Around

Once upon a time, London was not known to be a particularly cycle-friendly city, at least not on the same level as, say Copenhagen, Berlin, or Amsterdam. However, the London Transport Authority has been on its most ambitious bike path-building spree ever, adding 450km of new bike lanes throughout the city in the past two years alone. In order to make the most out of this fabulous new infrastructure, you should download the Santander Cycle app, which allows you to very cheaply rent a city bike from 750 docking stations across London.

Dusk: Drinks On the House

We all know that a night out in London can be punishingly expensive. However, with the right software on your phone, you can hit the town without spending a penny. This is the logic behind the hugely popular Dusk app (formerly Drinki), which leverages its relationships with hundreds of bars and venues across the city to provide free drinks every single night. The app has something of a cult following in the city, with some users going to the absolute limit to see how many freebies they can get through the app.

Citymapper: Turbocharge Your Commute

There are many apps you can use to navigate the vast reaches of London’s 1572 square kilometer urban area. However, the only one that consistently compiles all of the information and transport ticketings that you need in one place is Citymapper, a UK app that is completely free to use. It is way more reliable than Google Maps and can tell you exactly how to get from A to B the quickest, while also providing up-to-date information on delays and roadworks so that you are never caught off guard.

Time Out: Stay in the Know

Some London snobs will scoff at the idea of using Time Out to stay on top of all of the hip happenings and cultural events in the city, but it should not be overlooked. The quintessential guide to urban exploration might be mainstream, but it is also incredibly comprehensive. The sprawling Time Out London app is all you need to stay on top of all of the events, parties, and openings that will interest you, so download it if you never want to be bored in the city again.

With these apps on your Android phone, your London adventure will get off to the smoothest possible start. Download them today.
