There are a lot of various factors that make up a good pair of earbuds, the comfort, look, control, battery. The one thing that can really separate a good pair of earbuds, however, is the sound. Earbuds that produce professional grade sound stand apart and are able to really immerse you in audio.

The Edifier NeoBuds Pro showed me what professional sound on a pair of earbuds sounds like. Previously I did now know what earbuds were capable of.

Comfort & Look

These earbuds use a small, rounded, rubber tip that is on the end of the earbud to insert into the ear canal. With this tip and the rounded earbud shape I find these ear buds to fit quite nicely and have never experienced any pain due to the fit.

The earbuds come with quite a variety of rubber tips to fit different ear sizes as well. These tips easily come on and off the matt black earbuds. The outside the earbuds have a clean look, are about as small as a paperclip, and do not draw much attention.

Sound

Let me start this section off by talking about the noise cancelling of the earbuds. When you are wearing both ear buds and have the volume up, the sounds of your environment disappear, and you are left with just you and your audio.

On top of that, the sound is amazing, the quality of the treble and mid are fantastic, the sound is clear as water. The bass just goes above and beyond what I would ever expect a pair of earbuds to be able to do.

I find that most earbuds produce littler bass than what I would like however with these earbuds not only is the bass prominent but the sound of it is very high quality.

Battery Life

Every day of the week I walk for a minimum of 40 minutes, usually more on Mondays and Wednesdays. During this time, I am always using my earbuds and I find that I only have to charge them about one every week and a half or so.

The battery life that I have found is about eight hours of listening before you have to charge your earbuds. They charge pretty quickly though, and I find I can obtain a full battery within a couple hours. The charging port for these earbuds is type C which is pretty common amongst different kinds of phones and laptops.

Customization

The customization settings on these ear buds are pretty sick once you are able to connect them to the app. The earbuds on their own are not able to do much customization but if you download the Edifier app there are tons of options.

The adjustments you are able to make on the sound mixes and the presets you are able to save are pretty extensive. On top of that you are able to control how much outside sound blockage the earbuds do. The volume of each earbud can also be controlled individually on the app and there are even options to add on ambience.

User Experience

When first opening up the earbuds I had no problem following the instructions and connecting the earbuds to my phones Bluetooth and the Edifier app. Most days these earbuds are super easy to use for me and automatically connect to my phone.

However, every so often I find that if you pull out one ear bud to fast and immediately shut the case it will not automatically connect. Once this happens you may have a little trouble making sure the earbuds are connected to your phone, but it is an easy fix as long as you take your time and leave the case open a little bit longer when connecting.

Conclusion

The Edifier Neobuds Pro are built for consumers who enjoy high quality sound. By not only having some of the most quality earbud speakers I have experienced but also by giving the consumer total control over the sound balance of the earbuds, these earbuds are built for those who appreciate high quality.

Depending on your age and your background, you may have experienced some degree of hearing loss. Maybe it’s subtle or only at specific frequencies, but it’s there. And that’s tough stuff.

Growing up I always thought that you had to get to your 70’s and 80’s before you became “hard of hearing”. As I’m in my mid-40’s I now know that’s hardly the case. I’ve lost some of my hearing and some situations are harder than others to pick up sound.

I recently learned of the Linner Nova, a pair of true wireless earbuds with hearing aid capabilities. That is to say they look and feel like standard Bluetooth earbuds but they have added smarts and features for hearing assistance.

Having spent a few days playing with these, and using them in various scenarios, I’ve come to really like these. Not just because they amplify conversation or help me hear the TV better, but because they do so in an unassuming way.

You can’t tell by looking at these that they amplify sound, let alone just how well they do it. From the moment you turn them on you’ll notice how effective they are in boosting audio. Text, in particular, sounds incredibly clear and crisp, and subjects come across as being much closer in proximity.

Take a few minutes with the mobile app and do the hearing test and you’ll find that the experience only gets better. You can opt for individual ears or the binaural test to find out how different each ear might be. It’s possible that one of your ears is more sensitive to specific frequencies than others.

You’ll spend maybe five minutes doing the test but once your profile is set up, you’ll have finely-tuned earbuds that offset any audio shortcomings.

Moreover, there are four listening modes that you can toggle to tweak things based on your environment or scenario. The Linner Connect accessory plugs in via a 3.5mm cable to help broadcast and boost the audio from a specific source. Or, place it on a table and you’ll find it pulls double duty as a wireless microphone.

Rounding things out, the earbuds have an antibacterial coating and the charging case houses a UV-C light. There’s also in-ear detection, feedback suppression, and noise reduction at play, too. Oh, and they also color each earbud differently so it’s easy to identify when it’s time to charge them up or when picking up from a table.

The Linner Nova is currently in its last days of Indiegogo funding where it’s already hit roughly 20x its initial goal. From the looks of things you can get them for $219 if you act fast. Also available are ‘Lite’ version (no Connect transmitter) which comes in around $179.

After having tested these out I can see why it’s done so well already. They’re as good as pretty much any other earbuds in the $100-$130 range and the hearing assistance is well worth the extra asking price. Best of all, nobody is the wiser that you’ve got hearing aids in your ears.

Quality

The EM600 feels pretty average in the area of build quality, but considering it’s light weight, you should perhaps expect that. The shell of the mouse is made of a lightweight and low friction plastic, but the shape of the mouse and textured areas on the side of the shell allow for your thumb, ring, and little finger  to keep a good hold of the mouse in any scenario.

The scroll wheel isn’t any sort of masterpiece, but it gets the job done well with a textured surface for quick movements as well as an extra customizable input when you push down on it. It feels very stable and high quality.

The RGB lighting looks pretty good as well. It has several different modes you can access through a button on the bottom, and it provides backlighting for the EKSA logo and the scroll wheel. In my opinion, the overall aesthetics are standard and simple, which I quite enjoy.

The mouse is hardwired to the PC or laptop by a 6-foot braided cable that reminds me more of a shoelace than a cable. For my purposes, six feet was enough to get to my desk with ease, but of course you should do some experimenting of your own to be sure that six feet will give you plenty of extra room to glide the Gamer Master all over your desk.

Comfort

The EKSA Em600 is advertised as being ergonomic and it is very much that. The left side thumb rest fits my specific hand posture perfectly and through the few gaming sessions I had with it I never experienced any discomfort.

All buttons are easily and quickly accessible for use on the fly. I also think the “Sniper” button as EKSA calls it on the website is a super unique feature to have. It allows you to adjust the DPI lower while you aim down the sights in FPS games so that you can gain an extra edge of precision over your opponents. 

DPI

If you don’t know anything about DPI, I would suggest doing some research about it before you buy any mouse for gaming. If you’re already comfortable with the term, then here it is: the EKSA EM600 has adjustable DPI with a dedicated button for increasing as well as decreasing the DPI. This allows you to very quickly adjust the setting in game without too much trouble.

The default DPI settings seem to be 500, 1000, 2000… up to 6000, but EKSA has an option driver download on their website which gives you full capability to further customize RGB as well as create presets that you can cycle through with different DPI settings.

Summary

All things considered, I think the EKSA Gamer Master EM600 is a wonderful entry-level gaming mouse. These days, $25 is an awesome deal for RGB, DPI adjustment, programmable buttons, an ultra lightweight build, premium Gold Micro switch technology, and even driver software for additional customization. So if you’re new to the gaming scene and just want something to get you started, this is a very reasonable option at an even more reasonable price.

The Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld has been announced and is available for pre-order. The device is capable of playing your favorite games from Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce NOW. You can also stream from your Xbox with Remote Play or from your PC with Steam Link.

This handheld runs Android 11 under the hood, so you have access to apps from the Play Store. With Play Store access, other streaming services such as Google Stadia or Amazon Luna should be available. You can also download social media apps and streaming video services such as YouTube, Netflix, or Disney+.

Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld Top

The Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld will have a 7-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD display with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 450 nits of brightness. Logitech outfitted the device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G which should be fine as this is designed to be a streaming device. The button layout is what you would expect in 2022. You get two analog joysticks, 4 buttons on the face, 2 bumpers, and 2 triggers on top.

Logitech is claiming over 12 hours of battery life and the device weighs a little more than a pound (463 grams). Rounding out the spec sheet is WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, a headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port.
