AIRROBO P20 Robot Vacuum review

As much as we might love our fancy, high-priced robot vacuum cleaners, they’re not the sort of thing that everyone can enjoy. Much like those who chase after flagship phones, only so many people are willing to spend top dollar on tech — even if it’s an amazing device.

While there’s definitely a market for a robot vacuum that sweeps and mops and automatically empties its content, there’s a larger demand for entry-level models. AIRROBO understands this and its newest product, the P20, is that sort of “every man” product.

Priced around $130-$150, the AIRROBO P20 is packed with about as many specifications and capabilities as you can get for the money.

With a familiar design, the vacuum rises about three inches above the ground and has a unique diamond-like pattern. It’s an unnecessary detail to be sure but it does give it a bit of personality.

The P20 robot vacuum can clean up to 1,500 square feet on a full charge, or for about two hours of continuous running. That should be more than sufficient for the average household who needs to run daily maintenance and cleanups.

There are four different cleaning modes to toggle based on your needs – automatic, spot, spiral and edge cleaning.

One of the things that plagued early generations of these types of products was that they didn’t know to stop or turn around at the edge of steps or ledges. That’s not the case here as the AIRROBO P20 is able to avoid falling downstairs and will automatically turn around.

Similarly, the anti-collisions capability provides peace of mind. I didn’t have to worry much about the vacuum hitting a pair of shoes or a dog toy on the floor. But, it is worth noting that it might accidentally grab an errant shoe string or USB cable. If you’re running the vacuum daily, you’ll get in the habit of trying to keep things off the floor.

The 2800 Pa suction power surprised me as it was much stronger than I expected given its price point. Most robot vacuum cleaners with this much suction are priced at least $300 or more. I found it to be great at picking up common dirt, dust, and debris around the home.

The dust bin holds 600ml, or a little over two cups worth of dirt. I’ve found that I can get multiple runs without having to worry about emptying it into the trash. For reference I have a dog and a cat in the house and run the vacuum every other day. On occasion I’ll find an errant twist-tie or rubber band in the dust bin alongside pet hair and dirt.

I was also pleased at how quiet the AIRROBO P20 was at just 55 decibels. Not that I have any infants in the house, but I know it won’t wake anyone up were someone to be napping during runtime.

Conclusion

The AIRROBO P20 is a no-frills robot vacuum cleaner. That is to say it doesn’t do a ton of things, but what it does, it handles them well.

It doesn’t mop or automatically empty its contents after a run. It does not integrate with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. It does not support multiple floors. How critical are these features? For a lot of people, none of these things matter.

The vacuum is easy to set up, relatively quiet, and rather impressive in its suction. The app is intuitive and straightforward, giving users the ability to create scheduled runs, view maps, and more. And depending on how much traffic you have, you won’t need to empty its contents all that often.

The main floor on my house is split fairly evenly between hard floor and carpet. Moreover, I have multiple floors that need cleaned regularly, or at least semi-regularly. To that end, the P20 isn’t a solution for my needs, at least not at home. My dad, however, is a prime candidate for this one. As someone who doesn’t need mopping, and lives in a ranch-style home, the AIRROBO P20 is an excellent option.

Along those lines, I really like this one for my office. A simple square of a unit with no major traffic, no mopping to worry about, and no obstructions, it’s an ideal situation. I can run the P20 while I work and move out of its way when it gets to the desk, and be fully finished inside of a half hour.

Learn more about the AIRROBO P20 at the manufacturer’s website where you can purchase it for about $130 as of today. It’s also available through Amazon where it currently lists for around $130 (with an instant coupon).

Google’s Family Link introduces new ways of keeping kids safer online

0

Need to keep your family safer online? Google has offered a new way of doing that this year with Family Link, offering families multiple means of technology needed to create healthy, positive digital habits. Features such as screen time, content filters, and other controls and settings help users across the globe to find the right balance.

Although Family Link has been in existence for five years, this new experience offers the same flexibility at its core but it is now easier to keep one’s family safer online.

Family Link – Streamlined for parents

Parents can see the highlights tab on a Pixel 7 phone with snapshots of the child’s activity. They also can use the Controls tab to manage settings, and there’s a Location tab showing a map and the location of the user’s children.

After having studied how parents made use of the Family Link tool, Google redesigned it to bring to the forefront the most used features. Parents can now find their favorite features easily with this newly designed user interface. Such activities as setting screen time limits, approving apps, and blocking can be done quickly and more efficiently.

Guiding kids to age-appropriate content

Parents know how important it is to help their children choose safe entertainment. According to Google, many parents have lauded the ability to effectively guide their children to age-appropriate content. In view of this, the new Family Link UI makes it easy for parents to find these features and activate them.

They can supervise children’s activities by setting screen time limits for several devices or for specific apps. Content can be restricted and parents can manage app data permissions.

It is possible to set controls that last for only 24 hours especially when children need a little more time in a day. Parents can set that brief period using the “Today Only” setting. The rest of the settings for other days remain intact, and won’t be affected.

With the ability to spot all your children in the same location, ring your child’s device if it is hidden away from sight, and turn on notifications to be alerted when a child arrives or leaves a specific location, Family Link is your ideal tool for having peace of mind.

Samsung offers redesigned screen, new features in One UI 5

0

In a bid to innovate on its user experience for mobile devices, Samsung recently introduced the latest version of its One UI (v5) offering to millions of Galaxy users worldwide.

One UI 5 will be a stable build for users of Galaxy flagships, such as the S22 series, Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 (read our review). It’s amazing what some of the features offer in the sense of redesigned lock screen used for customizing wallpaper, clock face, and color palettes.

This is the company’s most personalized mobile experience yet, and it’s meant to give people greater options for users to fine-tune their devices to their own needs.

Important features of One UI 5

  • Bixby Text Call: Users can now communicate in a way that’s most convenient for them. This feature allows people to answer phone calls by simply typing a message.
  • Routines & Modes – Customized settings for different aspects: You could manage settings for sleeping, relaxing exercising, and driving. This feature allows you to mute notifications while exercising or driving, or even playing music.
  • Video Wallpaper: This comes from the makers of the Good Lock app, making it possible and easy to trim a video, transforming your most memorable moments into moving visuals.

  • Stacked Widgets: Now you can have this feature that lets you drag and drop widgets on top of each other. If you like, you may swipe left or right to quickly and easily scroll through each widget as a means to free up space on the home screen of your device.
  • Smart Suggestions: This feature is meant to streamline mobile tasks and activities connected to widgets. It works based on your usage history. The more important apps and actions you often make are now easy for you to access and manage.

Another aspect of the One UI 5 is the convenience it offers and the security giving users peace of mind. Your private information stays private. If you make moves not secure, such as unwittingly sharing your credit or debit card, you get a warning.

The best thing about the One UI 5 is the users’ suggestions and requirements bringing it to life. Samsung listened intently to make the One UI 5 a unique experience for everyone who cares to use it.

Hands-On: EKSA StarEngine E5000 Pro Gaming Headset

0

The EKSA StarEngine E5000 Pro Gaming headphones, $70, offer gamers a fairly robust set of features for their price. Not long ago we might have paid twice as much for less capable cans.

Arriving in a purple and grey box, the Star Engine E5000 have a modern design with bright green accents. They ear cups are large and soft and made to be worn for hours on end. The memory foam is very comfortable as is the headband’s cushion.

The headphones are interesting to look at and match the aesthetics that one might expect from a current gaming setup. Between the grilles, the neon green lines and wires, and optional LED light effect, they look pretty fierce.

The headset comes with a silky bag with a drawstring, a detachable microphone, and three cables for connection. Indeed, you can plug these in via a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, and USB Type-A. This means they’ll work with PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices alike.

The left ear cup is where you’ll find buttons for muting the mic, toggling the light effect, and switching between stereo and 7.1 surround sound. It’s also where the dial is for adjusting volume. They’re easy to locate without looking at them, but you might need a few wears before you’re comfortable doing so.

I found the EKSA Star Engine E5000 to be a tad heavier than expected but that did not hinder long-term wearing. The same goes for size as they are a bit larger than I might like to wear for music.

Keeping in mind these are not Bluetooth headphones with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), I cannot imagine wearing these outside of a rec room or office. Not that this is a knock, though, as they are made for sitting down to play games.

The headset does include a pair of microphones, one for calls and one for identifying noise. Using AI, it can discern the difference between human voice and other ambient sounds. This Environmental Noise Cancellation [ENC] technology reportedly suppresses up to 99.8% of environmental noise.

As for the sound, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality in both settings. The 7.1 surround sound works very well in gaming. Given sound design is so important for a lot of games today, I appreciate being able to hear enemies sneak up on me. The little whirs and bells that get lost when sitting across a room from a TV are front and center with Star Engine E5000 Pro.

If you play games on a Windows-based PC, you’ll appreciate the desktop application which features different equalizer settings and more control over the sound.

Switching over to music, the Star Engine E5000 Pro tends to favor highs with bass sometimes lacking the punch you might get from more traditional headphones. That said, they feel clear and crisp but not “tinny”. Play around with the desktop app a bit and you may lock on to something you like quite a bit.

Conclusion

The Star Engine E5000 is priced for mass appeal and thanks to its features, it’s built that way, too. Despite their weight and size, I find them to be very comfortable even for longer sessions.

While sound quality is good for music, it’s not superb. But switching to 7.1 surround and gaming, and their main raison d’etre, they fare much better.

I appreciate that EKSA tosses three cables in the box for flexibility between consoles and computers. It’s a small gesture, sure, but it further helps justify the $70 price.

You can learn more about the Star Engine E5000 Pro at EKSA’s website where they’re available to purchase. Alternatively, you can also find them at Amazon for the same price.

T-Mobile REVVL 6 Pro review

Most of the fanfare around smartphones tends to focus on devices that run about $700 or more. Carriers routinely spend time and money to tout flagships phones on print ads, website banners, and TV commercials.

While there’s definitely a market for those types of handsets, a huge segment of buyers are content with much less expensive models. And for good reason; there’s always a race to the bottom in terms of bang for your buck. Finding the right balance of performance and price is the key for most consumers.

T-Mobile’s REVVL line of phones has been around for a few years now and has been positioned as a low-cost, entry-level option. It’s a carrier-branded series that’s often priced in the sub-$250 space. The most current model under that umbrella is the REVVL 6 Pro 5G.

Priced just $220, the T-Mobile REVVL 6 Pro 5G offers up an incredible suite of hardware for the money. Spoiler alert – if you’re looking for a dirt-cheap device through T-Mobile, it’s an obvious choice.

It wasn’t all that long ago that a phone at this price might suggest a one-year relationship. Whether purchased as an emergency replacement or as part of a tighter budget, long-term performance and viability weren’t guaranteed. That doesn’t seem to be the case here with the REVLL 6 Pro 5G.

What are the T-Mobile REVVL 6 Pro specs?

  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G
  • Display: 6.82-inch, 1640 x 720 pixels resolution LCD (395 ppi), 60Hz
  • OS: Android 12
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Storage: 128GB w/ microSD card
  • Cameras:
    • Rear: 50MP main, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
    • Front: 16MP front-facing
  • Connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC
  • Security: Face Unlock / Side Fingerprint Sensor
  • Battery: 5,000mAh w/ 15W wired charging and wireless charging
  • Dimensions: 173.92 x 77.8 x 8.99 mm and 213 grams

If you understand smartphone bullet points, you know that the REVVL 6 Pro has a rather respectable amount of features for the money. Not only does it have a little more in the area of performance (RAM and processor), but it’s got some extras that you’d not expect to see, such as wireless charging and two forms of biometric unlocking.

Design

It’s one thing to look good on paper, but it’s another thing to see how something fares in the real world. You could have a powerful device but you could also have an ugly one. Both can be true at the same time, and it has happened plenty of times.

The REVVL 6 Pro is far prettier than I imagined it would be. Its Dark Shadow grey is sort of a slate color that looks right at home with T-Mobile’s general branding. The magenta power button is a nice contrast, too, and adds a touch of flair to it.

The REVVL 6 Pro is a big phone, to be sure. At 6.82-inches, it’s one of the larger devices I’ve spent time with as of late. And while that’s perfect for reading and consuming content, the downside is the pocket space that comes with it. The phone feels really nice in hand but it’s a little slippery if you’re not careful.

I’m a fan of pairing the power button with the fingerprint reader as one can build up some good muscle memory. It’s quick and easy to wake the phone and unlock it at the same time.

You know what else I like? Headphone jacks. Yes, I still have a reason to use one on a phone and I’m glad when a device like the REVVL 6 Pro comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Performance

For a mid-range phone, the REVVL 6 Pro sure handles day-to-day tasks quite well. I venture to guess that a lot of users would be happy with the type of performance provided by the handset.

I do find that while the fingerprint reader is fast and accurate, it’s a little too zealous. That is to say you cannot touch it at all without the phone trying to read the finger. You’ll feel a lot of tiny vibrations from inaccurate reads.

Although the screen has a 60Hz refresh rate and a lower resolution I found the REVVL 6 Pro to be easy on the eyes. If you’re not into high-end gaming, you likely won’t take issue with the display.

The plastic build doesn’t bother me and once I’ve got a case on it I don’t even remember its appearance anyhow.

A storage capacity of 128GB is plenty in 2022 as photos and videos are often automatically backed up in the cloud. The microSD expansion card slot is a welcome addition which leaves the door open for external storage if that’s ever an issue.

Devices like the REVVL 6 Pro 5G reflect growing demand for affordable, feature-rich smartphones, especially as companies involved in b2b wholesale electronics look to provide better value at scale.

Software

I really like the clean build of Android 12 that’s fairly close to the Pixel and stock experience. There are no extra apps installed on the phone; it’s about as clean as it gets.

As far as security updates go, my review unit was as of July 5, 2022 so it’s possible that quarterly updates may be in order. Given that Google and T-Mobile collaborate on the software, I hope that vital security patches are supported and that we get Android 13.

Display

The screen worked better than I imagined being that it’s so large and a 1640 x 720 pixel resolution. I figured things might feel a bit more pixelated than it is. Capped at 60Hz for the refresh rate, it’s a decent if not average display, that’s good for movies, text, and games. I might appreciate a little more brightness at the top but it’s well within reason and price expectations.

Battery

Battery has been great thus far, netting me well over a day and a half in my first few weeks of usage. I suspect that I could get through a moderately intensive day of use without having to find a charger. Thanks largely to the aforementioned mobile chip and lower resolution display, a lot of folks will see two days without breaking a sweat.

I’m a fan of wireless charging but I really like a fast charger more. I’d rather plug my phone in for 20-30 minutes halfway through my day or near the end and get more than enough juice to last me through a night of Reddit, social media, and light gaming.

While the REVVL 6 Pro does have wireless charging, it’s not all that fast. Neither is the wired charging, for that matter. They’re average speeds, but I’m also looking at it more critically. I cannot imagine too many people complaining when they only have to plug in every (other) night at bed.

Camera

With four cameras to work with, the phone gives users plenty of options to capture images. Set in a 2×2 array, it delivers results on par with my expectations. In addition to the various cameras are a smattering of shooting modes and filters.

I’ve tested phones over the years that cost at least $100 more than the REVVL 6 Pro that take lower quality images. These aren’t amazing by any definition, but they look great on the big screen and once touched up with an app, they’re more than passable for social media and photo galleries.

It doesn’t take long to figure out the camera app and its settings nor does it take long to figure out the limitations on quality. The main 50-megapixel camera shoots sharp and realistic colors with the occasional tendency to lean a little too heavy in one or both direction. If you’re taking pics of food and family you’ll be pretty content.

Night time and low-lit environments might produce shots that come out a tad bit “off” if you’re trying to snap something that’s a little busier in the frame. The post-image processing and AI dial up the noise reduction, resulting in inaccurate lighting and grain. And while this sounds bad on paper, it’s actually not as harsh in practice.

Other Thoughts

As much as I love the side-mounted fingerprint reader and power button combination, I have found the REVVL 6 Pro to have a disappointing number of failed reads. Sometimes it’s on the order of three or four attempts before it unlocks the phone. I’ve resorted to using the PIN more than I would have liked.

When it comes to new phones, it’s hard to find any sort of lag or delays in things unless you’re actively looking for them. That is to say there’s very little that signals to me the REVVL 6 Pro cannot handle my daily phone needs.

Installing a few casual games and more graphic-intense titles doesn’t do much in the way of making the phone warm or feel like it cannot stand up to the demand. The Dimensity 700 isn’t a high-end processor but when paired with 6GB RAM, it’s more than enough for most.

While I might be a bit more critical of phone capabilities like photos, my friends and family are far less so. One way I tend to ground myself is to hand a review device over to other people to gauge their reactions. I find that everyone else is considerably more forgiving of or ignorant to differences.

Conclusion

It’s easy for me to recommend the T-Mobile REVVL 6 Pro for its target audience. I ticks the important boxes for entry-level users with room to spare and tosses in a few extras, too. For a phone that’s priced $220 it’s tough to ask more from a device.

Performance is on par with expectations and I feel confident in saying it would handle typical daily duties for well beyond another year or more.

Shokz OpenRun Mini review

Bone conduction headphones aren’t for everybody as they’re a unique audio experience. Designed with active lifestyles in mind, they are often lightweight and waterproof.

Bone conduction headphones don’t go on the ear or in the ear; they wrap around the head and rest on your temples. Music and audio essentially play through directly into your head.

Earlier this year we had a chance to look at the Shokz OpenRun Pro, finding them to be very well rounded and among the best bone conduction headphones we’ve tested.

More recently, however, we’ve been checking out a similar product, the Shokz OpenRun Mini. As the name suggests, they’re a smaller take on the same design. How different are they? Is it worth spending, or saving yourself $50 by selecting a different model? As it turns out, the two models are very close to each other, sharing many of the same features.

Weighing in at just 26 grams, the Shokz OpenRun Mini are the lightest headphones in the brand’s lineup. That makes them incredibly comfortable to wear, even for longer periods.

With that lighter weight comes a smaller footprint, too. The smaller band means less space between it and the back of your head. For some people means a more snug fit. The OpenRun Mini are a great options for teens, younger users, or those who do like that tighter feel.

A commons side effect with the smaller designs is usually less battery life. At eight hours of battery on a full charge, that’s a full day’s usage or nearly a week’s worth of workouts, and the same as the standard OpenRun. Standby time is rated 240 hours so they can hold a charge while you rest and recover. A 5-minute quick charge adds 1.5 hours of listening time.

The OpenRun Mini are IP67 rated and designed to weather dirt, sweat, and water. In fact, they can withstand submersion in 1 meter of water for up to a half hour. Contrast that with the OpenRun Pro and the IP55 rating and these come out ahead.

Other noteworthy features in the OpenRun Mini are the dual noise-cancelling microphones, moisture detection alerts, and support for a variety of Bluetooth profiles.

There’s no major difference in how the headphones sound as these employ the 8th generation of Shokz bone conduction technology with the OpenRun Pro being slightly newer. In my testing I had trouble discerning anything noticeable.

Music sound good but you won’t get warm, rich sound from them. That’s just not how these operate. They do offer up a crisp sound that’s easy to pick up and relatively loud.

Conclusion

When it comes down to it, the OpenRun Mini are essentially a smaller take on the familiar design. They nearly the same in all other features and even come out on top if IP ratings and weight are big factors. And like the other model, they are backed by a two-year warranty.

If you’re not quite sure whether these will fit your head, this might help. Measure the space from the middle of your left ear around the back of your head to the middle of the right ear.

If your measurement is 9.25 inches+ (23.49 centimeters), opt for the OpenRun or OpenRun Pro. If your measurement is less than this, the OpenRun Mini should work.

All things considered, these are excellent headphones for their intended use. On balance, I prefer these as they’ll keep $50 in your pocket.

Learn more about the OpenRun Mini at the Shokz website where they’re also available to purchase in two colors, Blue and Black.

Bonuses & Promotions at Online Casinos

Promotions are the first hallmark that defines the best online casinos in Canada. Due to the fast-growing competitiveness, operators try to engage new players with fruitful bonus offers.

However, players should keep an eye not just on the size of a bonus, but also on playthrough demands. A reasonable wager to play through a bonus is x35-45.

Now, let’s take a look at the common promotions that you will definitely find in the majority of online casinos in Canada.

Welcome Bonus:

This type of bonus is available purely for newly joined players. Some online casinos give more than one bonus to newcomers. This can be a combo of cask perk and free spins.

No Deposit Bonus:

No deposit bonuses are the cherished dream of every punter. Such promotions are entirely free, meaning no deposits are required. Usually, no deposit deals come with special promo codes.

Reload Bonus:

Such offers are the perfect option to reload your balance. It works this way. You top up your bankroll on a mentioned day, and online casinos match your deposit by a specified percentage (25, 50, 75, or even 100%).

Daily Bonus:

These are typical bonuses that players may redeem every day. Depending on a particular online casino, daily offers may come in the form of cash, freerolls, or a mix of both.

Casino Tournaments:

The best online casinos in Canada run exciting tourneys all year round. There are three types of tournaments: daily, weekly, and occasional (linked to holidays or special events). Winners with top positions on the leaderboard are gratified with amazing prizes.

Cashback Bonus:

Online casinos give cashback in several cases. Operators may give a refund to cover a player’s losses or to encourage gamblers for their activity and deposits. VIP managers also have the power to present premium members with a 5-15% cashback.

Live Dealer Bonus:

These types of bonuses are available in games with real dealers. Live games are in huge demand among Canadian players today.

VIP Clubs & Loyalty Programs:

Being a VIP player at the real money casinos grants many additional privileges. These are bigger cashback, free spins, and a better cashout edge for high rollers. At 7BitCasino, VIP players also receive personal hosts.

Free Spins:

Slot lovers can’t pass by attractive free spin deals. Top-notch online casinos give FS as a part of a welcome pack and as solo promotions. Another option to grab freebies is to hunt for unique promo codes, which operators send to players amid their email promos.

Invite a Friend:

Some Canadian online casinos engage players with great perks for bringing their friends to the platform. The only condition is that a friend should use your referral link while registering.

Birthday Bonus:

First-class casinos present loyal players with birthday gifts. These can be free spins or sizable cashback. Sometimes, casino managers even personally call birthday boys and girls with congratulations.

Most Common Casino Games Around the World

Canadians have always been attracted to casino games, since the times of offline gambling. With the boost of online casinos in Canada, punters can enjoy their beloved games at any time of day and night on the internet.

Traditionally, casino online games can be categorized into games of luck and skills. Card games, like Poker and Blackjack, require a certain analytic background. Games of chance like Bingo and Roulette are more dependent on luck.

A typical real money casino has the following games in its portfolio:

  • Blackjack;
  • Poker;
  • Roulette;
  • Bingo;
  • Craps;
  • Baccarat;
  • Dice;
  • Slots.

Online Roulette

Roulette is a beloved revelry of thousands of players worldwide. Simple rules, exciting gameplay, and a super generous payback rate (98.6%) put online Roulette in a top position among other table games.

Today, Canadian players have dozens of online Roulette variations for epic wins. The most recognized are European, American, and Mini Roulette.

The best casino strategy for Roulette

One of the most trending winning techniques to beat the house in online Roulette is the Martingale strategy. The core of this betting technique is that a player increases a stake after a loss. Thus, he can revive his bankroll even after a losing streak.

Online Blackjack

Blackjack is one of the oldest card games in the world. Players in different countries have their own names for Blackjack. Some simply call it “21.” It is because the main goal of the game is to score 21 points and beat a banker’s hand.

Online Blackjack has the highest RTP among other online casino activities. Its payback percentage is over 99%, which makes Blackjack a top choice among big-stake lovers.

The best casino strategy for Blackjack

There are many proven strategies to win a lot of dough in online Blackjack. The time-tested winning method is the D’Alembert strategy. The idea is that a player increases his original bet by one unit after a loss. In contrast, if he wins, he decreases a stake in the next round.

Online Slots

No matter how people like table games, online slots hold the crown among all other casino activities. Present-day slots have nothing to do with old-school gambling machines. They vary in type and cover dozens of themes.

The best Canadian online casinos offer slots to any taste and proficiency level:

  • classic fruit slots;
  • multi-reel slots;
  • Video slots;
  • 3D online slots;
  • progressive slots.

The brilliance of up-to-date slot machines is their stunning innovative features. Canadian players can take a spin on slots with Megaways mechanics, slots with cascading reel set, Bonus Buy feature, and many more.

Most Popular Online Slots for Real Money

Online slots open great profit-making prospects at a casino. Of course, not all slots are equally rewarding. We have shortlisted the most popular online slots that are feature-packed and have the highest RTPs:

Minimum Deposit Casinos – 1$ Casino

If you are fond of low stakes and have a modest budget, focus on online casinos with a minimum deposit of $1. Such platforms are not so easy to find, as most operators set a min deposit requirement of $10 or $20. Still, some portals give bonuses for $1 depositors as well. A good example is 7BitCasino.

Best Real Money Online Casinos

If you consider online games not just as a way to have some fun, but also as a source of stable income, you need to gamble at the best real money online casinos. Such portals offer fruitful perks without the necessity to deposit money. As a rule, they use promo codes upon which gamblers can activate their online casino no deposit bonuses.

Mobile Casino

The dominant share of present-day Canadian players opts for mobile casinos than their desktop versions. It’s understandable as mobile casinos are more convenient to use. You can always have your favorite mobile casino games in your pocket.

The best mobile casinos are compatible with all modern gadgets (Android and iOS) due to high-tech HTML5 technology. You can reach such platforms via a mobile browser for instant play. Some operators have apps, which you can download on your phone or tablet.

REDMAGIC 7S Pro review

0

When it comes to phones designed specifically with gaming in mind, Nubia’s REDMAGIC line is one of the most powerful and popular options. Multiple generations into it the series keeps pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of specifications and features.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro arrived this summer as an alternative or compliment to the 7 and 7 Pro. Save for a few tweaks, it’s very similar to the REDMAGIC 7S Pro.

Key changes here include a more powerful processor, more RAM, a bigger battery, and a slightly different cooling system. Oh, and there’s also a new transparent color as well.

Design

In terms of overall design, the new model is almost identical to the REDMAGIC 7 Pro. That is to say it has the same transparent rear, integrated fan, RGB LEDs, and haptic triggers. Aside from the new Mercury color you’d certainly be forgiven for not physically seeing a difference.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro is a rather large device with its 6.8-inch AMOLED display. But that’s exactly what gamers want and need for immersing themselves. Not only is the screen big, but its well-rounded, too. Standout details include 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz touch sampling rate, 1,080×2,400 pixels resolution and 600 nits brightness.

Games look incredible on the phone, of course, but so do videos and photos. Everything is bright, clear, and as smooth as silk. And because there’s no notch or hole punch front-facing camera, things extend to all edges of the screen without interruption.

This is not to suggest that there is no front-facing selfie camera, it’s just tucked away under the display. Look closely enough and you’ll notice where it is but otherwise you’ll quickly forget it’s even there.

Design-wise, the REDMAGIC 7S Pro ticks all the same boxes as the 7 and 7 Pro in that it has a unique look. The transparent spots make for an interesting appearance and the LED lights accent things in a way that call to mind a gaming PC or a room dedicated to games.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro has a couple of shoulder triggers for games, headphone jack, and turbo fan for cooling. I like having a headphone jack in my devices to begin with, but it makes even more sense for gaming. There’s no lag to worry about when you’re plugged directly into the phone.

In regards to the fan and cooling system, it automatically turns on to keep the phone from getting warm or overheating during extended gaming sessions. As you may know, heat is one of your worst enemies when it comes to performance.

Software

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro runs Nubia’s custom Red Magic OS (v5.5) based on Android 12. There’s been no commitment on any updates from Nubia but I’m hopeful that Android 13 will ultimately make its way to the phone.

As I found with the REDMAGIC 7, the software and user experience can be off-putting or frustrating at first. Keeping in mind that I’m a big fan of a clean UI and barebones Android build, it takes some tweaking and adjusting to get it to my liking.

Understanding that this is a phone that’s built with gaming in mind, it feels that way in usage. Much of what you see and interact with on the surface is designed to showcase or point you to gaming features and settings.

The interface feels built for users who want to get into games and spend the majority of their time there. The Game Space, for instance, gives gamers control over performance and tuning. I found it inviting to tinker with options and customize the experience and the more time I spend with it, the more I understand its intentions.

There are plenty of widgets and shortcuts to sprinkle on your home screen, some of which are there by default. If you like to keep an eye on stats and performance, you’ll appreciate them. As for me, I removed them and rearranged the layout because it felt cluttered. Those of you who like to keep a watchful eye on benchmarks and squeeze hardware for everything its worth will appreciate what’s on offer.

The way the REDMAGIC OS handles the app drawer was aggravating, to me, and I could not wait to enable the traditional drawer so I could more quickly locate apps. If you plan to use your REDMAGIC 7S Pro for general phone needs, you might want to spend some time in the early days getting things to a way you like it.

Performance

How does one even begin to tackle the subject of performance with a device that you’ve only spent a few weeks with? Surely, the full suite of apps and games isn’t yet installed and there’s no real way of telling how it holds up over the long term.

Suffice it to say, my time with the REDMAGIC 7 continued to be a fun one with no signs of latency, sluggishness, or dwindled performance.

On paper the REDMAGIC 7S Pro doesn’t match the refresh rate and brightness of the REDMAGIC 7 but I couldn’t tell the difference. I have no doubt that others would; however, its screen was buttery smooth and fun to behold.

Somewhat similarly, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the 7S Pro bests the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from the standard REDMAGIC 7. Did I see the performance difference? Not in the games that I played but I am confident that the newer processor is more powerful and more efficient. If you’re the type who likes to read benchmark tests and do deep-dive comparisons of phones, I suggest Notebookcheck’s take on the two.

If you would have told me a few years ago that I would test a phone with 18GB RAM, I would have laughed at you. Yet, here we are in fall 2022 with an octa-core processor clocked as high as 3.2GHz with 18GB LPDDR5 memory. I hate to speak in hyperbolic terms, but I cannot imagine ever needing more from a phone. At least not for years.

I’m not a hardcore mobile gamer but I do appreciate some of the choices that gaming phone manufacturers make. Shoulder buttons are an excellent addition for some titles and help blur the line between a phone and a gaming controller.

I like the cooling system that REDMAGIC institutes for its phones as it’s not only beneficial but it’s fun to look at, too. There’s a metal plate that runs much of the back’s length with a grey urban camouflage pattern. Moreover, there are ventilation grilles on the back and the side to help with keeping things cool.

Then there’s also that 20,000RPM fan that lights up with RGB LED lights as well as a vapor chamber, high thermal conductivity copper foil, thermal gel, and other components to comprise the ten layers of the ICE 10.0 cooling system. Upgraded from the standard REDMAGIC 7, it’s reported to lower the internal temperature of the phone by up to 3°C (~5 degrees Fahrenheit).

I’m of the opinion that upper-end smartphones should employ both a fingerprint reader and facial recognition for unlocking. For some reason select devices do not have both. The REDMAGIC 7S Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint reader that I find to be fast and reliable. The same goes for the face unlocking which uses that hidden front-facing camera to quickly open things up.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro comes with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. Performance-wise, I found the battery to last as long as I expected. Depending on how many games you play in a day, and the types of games, you might anticipate getting through a full day without needing to charge.

It takes a little over five minutes to go from 0 to 25% battery life and maybe ten minutes to hit the halfway mark. You should have no problem fully charging in less than an hour.

There’s no wireless charging in the phone and the USB Type-C port is located at the bottom. It might be nice to have an additional port on the side so that gamers can enjoy playing while connected to a power source.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro has pretty much the same camera configuration as the REDMAGIC 7 on the back. And to that end I say don’t buy the phone if you’re looking for a killer combo.

The main rear camera is a 64-megapixel unit that creates decent shots. It’s more than passable, and if you do a little post-capture processing, you’ll get great results worthy of social media and timelines.

The dynamic range was generally rather impressive but the exposure was sometimes too high. That said, a quick share to your favorite editing app will get things looking really nice. The 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor are okay but don’t seem to grab the same level of detail.

The front-facing camera is bumped from 8-megapixels to 16-megapixel but I didn’t see double the performance. It’s good enough for my needs and I don’t think the target user cares much. Still, you can tell that pics are taken from a camera that’s under a display.

Conclusion

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro is one hell of a phone and easily among the most powerful on the market. And when it comes to gaming phones, it’s cheaper than what you’ll get from the Asus ROG Phone line.

Understanding that the phone leans very heavily in the direction of gaming, I still might appreciate a more balanced experience. The camera is average and the software can be a bit frustrating to casual users. But with that in mind, I don’t think there are many who will come to the REDMAGIC 7S Pro because of either of those.

Even with its blistering performance I really like the battery life and charging speed. I also happen to appreciate the 3.5mm headphone jack, too.

One of the trade-offs with the cooling system (ventilation grilles) is that it does not allow for any sort of water protection. That’s not a deal breaker for me, but it may be for someone else.

If it were up to me, I might slow down the rate at which the REDMAGIC line introduces new models. Between the 7, 7 Pro, and 7S Pro there are three remarkably similar phones being offered.

0

Looking for an inexpensive way of keeping a watchful eye on your loved ones or pet? Consider the AiDot Cloud Service with a free 2K WiFi Camera, a $35.29 affair that features 2K video capture.

It doesn’t cost very much these days to add peace of mind and security to various rooms throughout your home. The AiDot camera is proof positive that you can set up an intelligent and fairly well-rounded experience on the cheap.

The camera can be mounted to a wall or set on a desk and fully installed, ready to go, inside of around five minutes. That’s taking it out of the box, putting it together and pairing it to the AiDot app. Speaking of which, AiDot bills itself as “The 1st smart analysis camera service” and it’s pretty easy to see why.

AiDot Cloud Service

The AI is truly smart in that it can differentiate between humans, pets, packages, and vehicles. Indeed, the advanced algorithm can tell the difference between your dogs playing with each other and a delivery driver bringing a package to the door. This way you don’t end up with any false positives or notifications.

Likewise, the camera and cloud service pairing make for excellent baby monitors, of sorts. Set one of these up in the bedroom and you’ll be able to keep a close eye on your beloved toddler while in another room. Or, if you’re at work and want to check in on the family, simply pull up the app and have a look.

Thanks to the 24/7 monitoring capabilities you can keep an eye on your loved ones or personal property while outside of the home. And should something happen that needs your attention, the app will send you a notification.

Considering whether or not you might need a pet sitter for your home? Set up a camera or two around the home and you’ll know just where your dog goes throughout the day, when it eats, and how it behaves.

Where to Buy

You can learn more about AiDot and the services at its website where you can also purchase a camera. As of today you can pick one up for as low as $41.99. For a limited time you can use a coupon code (KOL32) to receive 32% off your order.

About the Camera

Features include 2K (2560 x 1440) video and image capture, motion detection for people and pets, night vision, and support for Amazon Alexa. Additionally, it features night vision for humans and pets, AI software for detection, pushing notifications, and more. All of these details, and more, can be backed up in the 18-month AiDot Cloud Service that’s as low as $35.29 right now.

The main camera component is roughly the size of half of a tennis ball with a magnetic back. Use that to stick it to the desktop mount or mount it flush to a wall with the included accessories.

The mobile app is easy to set up with a number of customizations. For instance, you can ask it to send you notifications when it detects motion from pets and/or humans. It’s designed to record up to 15 seconds of footage at a time once it detects movement.

The camera comes with a microSD card slot that allows for up to 128GB but you’ll have to supply your own external storage. It does have three months of cloud service to keep things accessible from anywhere.

Rounding things out, the app lets you take snapshots of what’s in frame, a two-way mic allows for conversation, and the siren can be used to scare would-be intruders off. Bonus points awarded for Alexa support.
